There’s no alternative for you to put back the game on the engine it was using before or something? Either way I’ll ask on another forum topic about this
Hello, I replied on the other thread too but you may be missing an *ifid
command in startup - if it’s not there, progress gets reset to the beginning of the game.
You are correct. Excellent insight. Will credit you on next upload.
New HTML! Bug fixes. Some small amount of content increase.
Still working toward Epilogue stuff.
Important note, can someone confirm the issue with the Chapter 6 Checkpoint not functioning? May have to split it up into parts if the file is too large for the checkpoint save system.
(Access to the HTML can be found at the start of the thread or near the bottom.)
The version log, which I promised myself I’d upkeep: v.801.
Issue with ifid resolved thanks to Ultra_In_Something and HarrisPS.

Fixed an issue where a player might accidentally Groundhog Day their way into day 2 at Tebourba because the coder forgot to move the day forward. Thanks to Healbot.
Fixed a bug that allowed Owens to obtain a lot of XP very cheaply. owens_xp_lockout locks that out. Thanks to Healbot.
Developed the initial stat boost for players who don’t want to click through the history. Thanks to Ultra_In_Something.

Issue involving Driscoll not realizing he’d already talked to you in Chapter four, governed by the_driscoll_lock_out, has been resolved. Thanks again to kckolbe.
Cover art is pending.
Chapter banner art is pending but Paul Wang is on the case with some sweet work.
Will examine the health checks at Kasserine Pass. If the PC go below zero, there should be a bad end because the PC passes out and can no longer command. Perhaps a forced withdrawal?
Your chapter 5 feat is… impressive. 6 Panzer IV’s? Wow. Did you go head to head with them or were you able to use a flanking/rear position?
No, they just motored ahead of line, went full out (and kept moving), and then just target Panzer IVs while staying inside the tank.
Anyways, the ifid script works! Now the game’s save doesn’t resets if I leave.
I like tanks.
Where the hell was this all my years reading IFs??? I like tanks. A lot. And an IF with American WW2 tanks. Not genderlocked AND well written? By jove this is truly a new year present that is worthy of celebration.
My only complaint is it wasnt a sherman tank. But well. Cant have all the cards be perfect lest a black hole form.
The only issue I found was in I believe Chapter 7. A hide reuse was not properly done and was visible in the option itself.
I’m off to play again.
I actually disagree with this.
It is the 40s, US women weren’t allowed in combat roles and being gender neutral/something else would get you sent to a mental asylum.
Ok.
Eh. The WAC had quite a notable bit of history despite its difficulties. But I don’t necessarily care in regards to accuracy within that specific front. Just the option improves my enjoyment nearly tenfold. I’m just the glad the option is there.
Anyways, the new update has gotten me some odd changes.
Protecting the bandit tank gets either you or someone wounded (rng chance)
And most annoyingly enough, after the ft 17 fight, if I decide to halt where I am and discover the 47mm cannon, my tank gets destroyed no matter if I fire, evade or charge.
Thankfully I just chose to pursue this time and the AT is not an issue anymore.
I think theres a loop when you meet up with the british after Blade. When youre escorting the infantry and finish the fight, youre prompted to sleep or visit the HQ or streets. If you choose anything but sleep. It continues for a few pages before looping back to escorting the infantry again.
I’ll try and get on the laptop soon and get you a more detailed report.
Hello again healbot! I was wondering how did you managed to beat the teourba chapter, did you do quite well? I mostly sucked at the battles which happen after the farmhouse battle, like the one in which I tried to shoot at a tank from afar and somehow failed despite having telescopic sights. There was also one in which I got a mg out of their positions but the british somehow got thin from too much melee and mot importantly enough, I end up messing up at the last parts of the chapter and get Nelson killed…
Will take a look at encounter with the 47mm cannon. There have been variable issues that have cropped up in places.
Yep, what Ultra said, head to head + full speed. Every shot besides the first successfully disabled the panzers.
(Text for destroying more than 5 panzers)
Now for some more bug reports of the new version :
Michel still survives the first time you shoot him
Buying the wine should probably reduces your scrip.
This looks like there’s supposed to be text here.
Can only increase Owens’ Drive and Observation in this one (oh, and he has 26 xp because i tried doing the dunes xp exploit again and it seems to still work?)
Picking “Head into Tebourba” and “Check in with Hampshire HQ” still Groundhog Days you.
The same scene (Ray’s requisition) happen twice in chapter 7.
Well, those are good bug reports. The images really tell me where I screwed up.
Will tackle these each in turn.
When we get to the achievements I’ll have to put in something like ‘Heal This’ - Destroy at least 3 Panzers at Chouigui Pass.

Honestly Chap 6 is prob the hardest fight for me, but you can still contribute a lot to the Hampshire’s withdrawal efforts.
It does not seem possible to penetrate the panzers from afar (we only have a 37mm gun after all), but it does do the job of spooking them.
Yeah in the mg42 scene i haven’t found a way to not make Hampshire’s morale/strength decreases, but at least if you do well enough it should say “slightly decreased”
The easiest way i’ve found to survive the last sequence before withdrawing was hunting German panzer by prowling the streets, followed with Hiding or Maneuvering twice. You could Fight, but i suggest only doing it once.
@Ultra_In_Something Pop smoke or maneuver, it is RNG (affected by your crew skill i assume) though. I did shoot the Field Observer, but that’s an arty spotter.
Thx!
@Healbot btw one last thing, what do you suggest for minimizing damage furing the part in which arrial bombings come in? The part in which you can go to the command british guy. I recall you could kill a observer or something.
@Healbot you actually can get the morale of hampshires to be reduced very slightly by simply getting close enough to the german defenses.
@Healbot the tank always breaks the moment I press the word “fight” for whatever reason
@AllenGies idk if this was reported already but when I decided to continue to chapter 7 without saving a checkpoint, once the chapter ends and I choose to return to the chapter 5 checkpoint, nothing happens and I see a text saying “(chapter 7 checkpoint)”
Took a look at the Tebourba fight. There was a doubled penalty in one place. That will be fixed in the next patch.
Not sure what is going on with the chapter checkpoints. Will have to look into it. Most of the actual code is hidden from me and it is possible only to do basic commands to call actions.
Have people been able to reload their checkpoints? Have there been other problems with other chapters than Chapter 7?
