Well since you asked.
It is very hard to actually convict based on content as many stories share superficial similarities, see the monomyth for that. Not knowing the works you reference I cannot say how infringing this work would be compared to them. But do note that content wise it is fairly easy to sanitize a work so it passes muster. Which incidentally is what happened with Fifty Shades of Grey as that started out as a Twilight fanwork I believe and the author was able to remove the potentially infringing elements such as specific characters and world setting and lore fairly easily.
A more slippery slope is using the EU parody exception to make a work that is a deconstruction or critique of another.
Titles and Trademarks on the other hand are easy, if there already is a New Gods series of comics I’d suggest simply altering the title.
Of course none of this may matter in the end as big corporations like to use intimidation tactics to deter the would-be competition these days, where they basically have their teams of expensive attorneys sue you, even frivolously and count on you not being willing or able to pay the legal fees to defend against these often spurious allegations.
In short the current system of Copyright is royally screwed up. One of the main things I have against it is the automatic nature of it. In this day and age where you need to register everything anyway an easily searchable database of claimed copyrights would be a decent start towards reform and make life much easier for a lot of people.
Even if it puts expensive due diligence specialists largely out of work.
Again without knowledge of both works I cannot give any reasoned judgement on how infringing this might be other then to say stay away from titles and trademarks, for even should you manage to take on say Disney over one of its old trademarks and win it would in all likelihood be a Pyrrhic victory and not worth your trouble or money.

I assume from this quote that you’re doing something similar in Percy Jackson and the Olympians where even though everyone is technically related to each other in some way, they can still date because they’re godly parents don’t actually have DNA. (Though I’m confused how creatures with no DNA would even exist let alone have offspring, but they also did that in Rick and Morty so I won’t question it.)
Still though it might not be a bad idea to throw in some non familial ROs. That’s just a suggestion.

Since anyone can buy the games through CoG, HG, Steam, etc. I would say not super explicit. Maybe a “fade to black” type of scene. So no Dragon Age/Witcher type of scene, more like TV PG stuff.
I think you can be explicit, but that limits the platforms it can sell on. Also if it’s explicit everyone’s over 18. And content warnings. I believe there’s even a new category for stuff like that.
