I like to keep it vague. If I was being glib I would say the Scion “travels at the speed of plot.” However, as a rough figure I’d say you can cross short distances in the blink of an eye (you can dodge bullets after all) and you could get from one end of a continent to another in the span of minutes, when traveling on foot. The trick is that while the player character can think faster than the average person, you can’t actually think, react, and control your movements at light speed. You couldn’t say, move lightning fast and collect all the fragments of a glass window breaking during an explosion, but you could probably move fast enough to tackle someone out of the way of said fragments.
So we need to get stronger to archive more feats from the current feats what tier would you put mc?
Will there be more chapters?
I believe there are a couple chapters that won’t be available until the full game is released.
Hi there!
So, I’ve finished a rough draft of the complete story, including the final showdown and epilogue(s). Right now I’m actively revising the whole thing, including inserting a couple of small scenes and one major branching path in Ch. 5. I’d wanted to get another update out sooner, but unfortunately I hit a few snags (and spent last week with a nasty illness). So, the long and short is that there is more of the story that might not come out until the full game is released, and there’re also some revisions coming to the chapters that are out right now.
Hope you feel better soon, and best of luck with the revisions!
Feel better soon!
Sorry to hear about that. I hope you feel better.
Didn’t know that being Superman would feel so amazing
Hey there,
Sorry, didn’t see this one. I have to admit I’m not super into precise power levels. There’s the old Stan Lee quote in response to “Who would win in a fight between character X and character y?” : Whoever the writer wants to win!
All that said, one of my big inspirations for this game is the old Mutants & Masterminds rpg, which I usually played at Power Level 10: characters are extremely formidable, but not necessarily god-like. The MC in particular is, in terms of sheer physical strength and invulnerability, probably the most powerful being on Earth besides the Conqueror. However, you can’t perform any of the truly zany stuff some of the big name comic heroes can do, like Superman pushing planets out of orbit, or the Flash running so fast he goes back in time/visits another dimension/outruns Death itself. Another comparison point/big inspiration for this game is the old Max Fleischer Superman cartoons, where Superman was easily the most powerful being around, but could still be challenged by things like giant robots, death rays, and rampaging Kaiju. My golden rule when approaching scenarios for the game is that anything truly worth our hero’s time has a chance of genuinely challenging them (Poppet’s illusions, Silenus’ gadgets, the Gorgon’s sheer strength), but most truly mundane opponents would be a breeze.
Hey I know the book isn’t even finished yet but would you be willing to do a sequel or book series for this book
I’d love to! Of course it’ll depend on how well the game does and a lot of other factors. I have a handful of ideas for sequels and spin-offs, but those would all depend on a lot of things, and of course be long in the future.
I love this interesting game!
