Before playing through the WIP for the first time I decided to look through the Nations and States glossary attached to the stats page and found a discrepancy. Under old world, there is a listing for the Principality of Howedale, yet it is labelled on the new world map instead of the old world one.

Small thing I found:

I believe the age somehow gets reset to 0 at some point instead of staying as the one you choose. That, or the emperor’s army employs some seriously gifted toddlers :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: Found it. The age gets set to 0 after you choose your age (instead of your actual choice)

Man, they start boot camp early XD

There’s an error when I try to say the noble man I dance with at the ball is infatuating.

When I enter how old I am into the game, it states in the stat screen that I’m only “2” years old.

Isn’t it obvious the imperial army is really a clone army and that age is our actual age, we’ve just got the memories of the original too. The ancient or alien cloning tech they use for this is likely one of the empire’s deepest, darkest and best-kept secrets.

I’m only 2 years old according to the stat page as well. :baby:

@Goshman: Taking a quick peek at the code, every time we go to the stat page, the age variable gets overwritten by

*set age (era - 148)

Given that era starts out at 148, an age of 2 or 3 means you are 2 or 3 years from the beginning of the game. I believe the above line should probably be removed, as should the *temp age 0 above it since there is already a global age variable created in startup.txt which is set and incremented in the game.

Now the question is “Can our MC shoot better than Stormtroopers?”

I think the age thing means how many years have passed since the game started. At the beginning it says Age: 30, however, the first scene where everyone is in a classroom takes place 30 years after the events in the following chapters.

lol. wut?

@Goshman, is the commendations page like an achievement list or is it going to list our ranks, medals, and participation ribbons?

We’re in for some shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit :poop: !!!

Depends, shooting is part of the body stat, I believe. As my mc currently has 40 there, probably not.

But if that means you hit a target 40% of the time, that’s definitely miles ahead of troopers :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Goshman: Lots of "stop"s in the following message from mom and dad:

“Our dearest Edmond stop our very deepest congratulations on commission and continued successes against the enemy stop we are very proud of you and wait to see you again stop with regards papa mama stop.”

That confused me as well, but after gathering intelligence on the subject I found out that words like “stop” and “query” were used in place of punctuation marks when sending telegrams. Something about the military sending clear orders through telegrams.

Stop means period, query means question mark. The hostel owner doesn’t know that so she’s just reading everything she sees.

You would read it normally.

Having finally been able to play through the WiP, I have some suggestions and observations regarding romances:

  1. Given all the time the MC spends with Lieutenant Katell Lefèvre, it’s surprising that there is no opportunity to get to know, attempt to flirt with and possibly even get intimate with her. Finding themselves sharing a carriage ride home at the Grand Duke’s Ball would be the obvious place to release all that pent up tension. It would make her subsequent death feel far more poignant and tragic if it felt like she and the MC were building something that might be lasting. And even for those that don’t go that route with her, the better the MC knows her, the more impact her death will have, and impact is good.

  2. It should be possible to take the initiative and try to flirt with Ekaterina instead of waiting for her to flirt with you, and that includes if you’re male. She may well be purely gay, or simply less interested in men at this time, but what you don’t know shouldn’t stop you from trying to engage her in some flirting even if she does shoot you down.

2b) There should have been a chance to say goodbye to Ekaterina, even if it was only a sentence or two, when leaving Marshal Perreau’s command. She’s been set up as your closest friend at that camp, and if you’re female, there’s the chance you two have been intimate. So it’s kind of odd that there was no chance to say goodbye.

  1. Of the female characters presented so far, Augustina is quite possibly the most interesting. I’d love to see something develop there. I thought it a pity that she didn’t invite the MC as a recently decorated hero to be her escort to the ball at the Isle-de-Serein, and that subsequently the PC was too busy to go.

This is great! Just want more romance is all

Not very far yet but Augustina seems like she could be the Agent Carter to my Steve Rogers hopefully without the popcicle but maybe a tragedy or something.

…so you plan on making out with Augustina’s niece in the distant future? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

ahaha or daughter… I mean the game started with me as what either 60 or 30 teaching a class… i imagine augustina has a daughter already. hopefully i am 30 by the end cause creepy old man like Capt not what i meant by steve rogers kind of deal.

I uh third or second this. I mean sure getting rejected would suck but i am cool with being bros with her. Besides AUGUSTINA! Who wouldnt want to get to know their superior and find out if shes as command-ahem enjoying this so far not even at the end of the demo yet.

Edit: I am disappointed i could have made an “Experienced” Double entendre and i would gotten my femdom meaning through ugh damn it i’m losing my touch.
