Hi, welcome to the WIP thread for the demo of Snowborn.

Content Warning: this game features some graphic scenes of blood and gore. Though it is pretty mild for the first release.

Demo Content: Just the beginning of the Prologue, it’s only about 15,000 words (without code).

This is work in progress, and thus is subject to change as the story progresses and I update the demo. I would really appreciate it if you could offer critical feedback about everything from the writing, the pacing, the characters and the overall story.

Now, what is Snowborn?

In a realm of forgotten tales, you emerge as a ghost to yourself. Stranded in a land where memories fear to tread, the icy breath of solitude kisses your bare flesh, a chilling reminder of your forsaken existence. Beyond the frigid embrace lies the northern expanse, where the Ice Wall stands sentinel to your lost past.

In the dance of agony and terror, crimson whispers paint your journey with scars unseen. A fragile thread separates life from eternal slumber, yet salvation’s hand reaches out to snatch you from death’s maw. Amongst pariahs shunned by society’s gaze, you find solace in their shadowed embrace.

Traversing realms unknown, each step echoes the lament of an amnesiac soul seeking fragments of truth amidst veils of deceit. A tapestry woven with threads of recollection leads you to confront those architects of oblivion who stole your essence.

As war’s specter looms on the horizon like a ravenous beast hungry for worlds to devour, destiny beckons from its heartless throne. Will you yield to the infernal melody that fate orchestrates or defy gods’ whims to forge a path untrodden? In this realm where salvation dances with oblivion, Snowborn, awaken to tread the treacherous path through a world steeped in sorcery and demise.

First congratulations on starting your WIP I have read some of it and it gave me a good first impression so I hope you continue

Secondly have you added anything to your stats screen yet because I don’t think it’s working so I wanted to make sure that there is no proplem

I love your style! I got attached to Ásvar already, but I sense a tragedy waiting… XD

The premise is interesting, and I like the lore tidbit of the mountain god. Hope we can discover more as the story progresses!

well the demo was short but good
and since the name part didn’t seem to affect the narrative you might as well add the option for customize name
waiting for an update… no pressure xD

They will come, don’t worry. For now it’s just the prologue and the MC is still learning :smiley:

When in the scene with freyr and one of the sons of the mountain grabs his arm my MC who is a girl is refered to as him. Basically wrong gender but im enjoying the game and will continue reading when i have more time. :smiley:

I do like what i had read. The only thing I would recommend on doimg is implementing a save, especially since we are still in the prologue.
