It used to depend on how many arrogant options MC took in earlier dialogues. In the current build it hinges on taking Don't waste time on a commoner. option when you arrive to the city.

For some reason, I have no attributes? 
I’m playing on Heaven mode because it’s my first time and I like overpowered MC’s (judge me 
) but they’re not showing up. I got all the attributes (excluding spirits) and one spirit, but none of them appear.

You mean talents? Do they actually work in-game and just not show up in the stats?
They don’t work or show up. One of my attributes was good looks, but when I chose an option that required it, it said that I didn’t have the attribute and failed.
That’s strange… did you re-roll after buying the talents?

To be fair, if am not mistaken the clan massacre thing happens while you’re still in coma and effectively master-less, unless you’d accepted Yang Bohai’s early offer. And if you hadn’t then Bohai won’t lift a finger in your defense, too.
