(WIP) Broken Fable [220k Public, Updated 5/7/24]

Was the reason Chapter 2 took so long to complete cause of how different the fight scenes were depending on the Origin MC?

Indeed. Not all chapters will vary that much, so the time it takes to complete them will change greatly. Chapter 3 should be one of the quicker ones. Not to much fighting.

I think I also remember that you said you were also going to do something about Janus? I don’t remember the specifics but was whatever you were thinking of doing still valid or did you changed your mind?

Lucifer might be my favorite now. His power at first didn’t seem like much but Jesus it’s nice. I loved toying with kaya. Plus what I did to cloud boy. Excellent work.

@DrDense in my opinion if you want to add character portraits [professional or not] into the game then add them into a section/tab in stats with glossary or something like that, then you can even do portraits or story art for other more significant characters…

@DrDense Is there a way for Wukong to kill the Cloud Praetor early? Cause between picking which ones to fight, I like fighting the Dawn Praetor more since Wukong shapeshifts the most against her.

Lucifer is a one trick pony when the opponent resist the mental game he/she is reduced to a normal augment. Lucifer is probably the weakest of the fable.

@DrDense are the lock and back out choice to lock romance with Yor? If so, for real? I mean there are barely any romantic interactions so far and three fourths of the ROs aren’t even introduced/had an actual interaction with MC so far and it’s already a romance lock encounter with the first and only RO with more interactions? It feels like everything fell dull at that point.

Little side note, I noticed with the new update that most of the fable’s stats were changed from base 4 to base 10, except for pele, pele’s stats are still the same as before the update, not sure if that’s intentional or not but figured it’d be worth a mention

@DrDense who do you personally think is the strongest playable character?

Lucifer can still use there nervous system augment against people who resist and it works pretty well as long as they don’t get blindsided

Yeah that nervous system power is crazy. Being able to paralyze somebody in the middle of a fight is insane. Making them completely hopeless as you lay into them.

Not really, Alyosha’s resistance only stopped the trauma lock. Lucifer still had control of their physical body and perception, which definitely makes Lucifer a force to be reckoned with. If you can’t trust your body OR your senses to work right in a fight, you’re as good as gone. Just cause they’re physically weaker doesn’t make them bad. Control over the nervous system is insane. You could be still like a potato on the ground and think that you’re mid-fight.

Aww the descriptions for the skills are gone, i liked those, they added some nice flavor text

Random thought what kind of endurance does Lucifer have because I feel like when you’re in hell it would be constant fighting and they did that for at least a hundred years

Alyosha being able to resist Lucifer’s mental attack is not believable tbh. Something about having no self doubt or trauma. I was under the assumption that Lucifer is able to take advantage of any fear. It is clear that the most blatant fear Alyosha has is the fear of Kaya dying. That alone could’ve been taken advantage of.

Hopefully this does not lead to inconsistencies in Lucifer’s power. I recognize this is similar to the Ghost Rider’s power of the penance stare. Where if someone is without guilt they will not fall to said attack. It is inconsistent and illogical, given the context.

Nevertheless, Lucifer is surely a power to be reckoned with if not for that small hiccup. It was entertaining to view that finished chapter.

Maybe it’s likely what lucifer said that there something in his Brain that makes him different somehow

I’ll send my review in after a few more plays to see what else changed, either way loved Luci’s path. And enjoyed the ro lock in, :closed_lock_with_key: :joy:

Okay after going through the runs. Not much to say except loved Lucifers romance scene the most with Yoru. Also Luci was very badass mind f*cking those poor mortels, felt a bit bad for K, but then again we did warm them to fly away before Hans started his little spat with us. Anyway definitely looking forward to seeing what’s to come, so great work @DrDense your stories always blow me away.
