I was honestly wondering the same thing…in addition…i wonder if the demo will have a mention of Wukong’s reaction to being summoned by and meeting Buddha again during their version of the first interlude.

Tbh if you were to leave it up to me, I’d just get Buddha and the Praetor leader killed by Timur on purpose to get rid of the annoying weakness.
Then go absolutely apeshit with the giant ape form

I also thought about that but since the author has their weakness as part of the plot that makes up their characters; I figured that they’ll probably make it where even if Buddha dies, the circlet doesn’t go away until Wukong does whatever they were supposed to do. Also, in most franchises that has Sun Wukong, don’t they usually still have the circlet on them even after the whole Journey Through the West story? Our Monkey King/Queen might be stuck with it forever.

Wasn’t for this at 1st but cannot lie it’s been growing on me and the story continues to get better the deeper we go so far can’t wait for Suns part

Hello everyone. The Sun Wukong branch is live!
The total word count of the game is now 136k words! Alongside the branch of chapter 2, there were some tiny changes in Wukongs Backstory; they are nothing Major. This update also includes a very early version of the timeline. Since this story will take place over a couple of in-game years, I will have it updated as you progress throughout the story.
The release plan will be the Janus Path, Pele Path, and then Lucifer Path. I aim to have these done by the end of August so I can start crunching away at Chapter 3 ASAP. I am so excited to write it; the MC will finally meet two more of the ROs! This means expect the next update sometime around August 11th or 12th.

I assume it’s a similar situation as breaking someone’s arm or giving them a disease, the damage is still done regardless of you being around afterward.
Yeah but most who do that basically cut off the part where Wukong ascend to Buddhahood (and thus would be free of everything, including the headache mantra) so they use a somewhat redeemed Wukong who’s better off with the crown in case anything goes wrong since he hasn’t quite ‘got there’ so to speak…
Or they have him keep the crown but purely as an aesthetic thing he likes / part of his design instead of the enabler for the headache mantra.

Ok, just got done with Wukong’s Chapter 2 and I gotta say… That chapter was awesome! Their shapeshifting abilities are insane, especially since not only can they turn their bone structure into different kinds of metal (even some of the strongest types) and regenerate lost limbs but they can even grow new limbs like they’re Asura himself! I tried out all or most of the combat options against the Dawn & Cloud Praetor and I kinda like the taking them by surprised option near the beginning of the fight when Wukong turned into a golden retriever to catch them off guard. That was a little funny. I like how in the interludes with those other deities, they mentioned the relationship between Sun Wukong and Buddha. I also wasn’t expecting Buddha to give Wukong something like that nor for the limiter to be gone.

Yep, this update has solidified my choice to play as the monkey king for the rest of the game. The idea of becoming a golden retriever just to mess with them is amazing.

During Sun Wokong fight I was thinking: “what about his clothes, he is fighting naked or have ‘anime’ clothes?”
Then:
The mental image of the praetors getting their @ss kicked by a naked man made me smile haha

I personally prefer when their clothes are part of their shapeshifting so they’re technically always naked.
I realized something. The Buddha not telling Janus about a certain event coming up was a terrible idea. Considering Janus power works the best when they have time to plan ahead Buddha really s**t the bed in not telling them.

When it comes to those kind of consequences even 1% is too much of a risk if you ask me.
Wait if the MC is naked, doesn’t that mean they would have a clear view of the giant X on our back? Or does the monkey king not have that?
