@cultivator-anon loved the update. Especially loved the jade foundation addition haven’t been here since the first upload. So the editions and chapters were a real blast. Also love the naruto/DBZ vibe of the game.
Secondly the characters are super enjoyable, interactions are either, comedy gold, cute, weird asf or straight up enjoyable. So amazing job, my praises for the Cultivator-Anon team .
Moving on… whooping Jack’s butt not once but twice felt extremely cathartic
As for Shrinemaiden Mina… I nearly met my maker if not for Jin… poor Jin, I wander if she could walk after 3 days of exercise
As the 30th lands you can’t help but whisper. “Kimochi…”
“HUH???” Comes from your assailant…
“Eh??..” Is all you can say in response as the room gains an extremely eerie yet awkward silence. As you dare to look back at your assailant.
What you see would make your ancestors role in their graves if they could. As you scan the look on everyone’s faces, you see Bo look upon you with so much disgust that you fear his face may remain that way for eternity. Next you see the goth look at you with a new found fascination like a cat would that just found a ball of yarn to play with. As for the rest they stare at you with disdain and self disgust for even subjugating themselves to your weird kink.
or something along those lines
Lastly greatly enjoyed the last fight scene some of those scenes killing off Taio felt epic as hell
Definitely looking forward to the next chapter with unprecedented anticipation
Cultivator-Anon trying to get the coding done before deadline
Correct. Chapter 6 I’m including 1 of 2 options to meet up with another companion depending on where you go. Needless to say, the variety is killing me. And yet it must exist.
Yea it’s honestly hard picking a style. I genuinely like all the mentor scene and having each of them around in chapter five is a different kind of fun.
For example, I really enjoy Guiren and his lackeys being idiots but Tian Fang is cute and her antics are funny, especially the wolves intimidating everyone else. However, Angelo being mysterious and dropping hard lines like “be not afraid” is also pretty hard to give up.
The only saving grace is that you meet Leona regardless even without Akakiru but you still miss out on the ability to punch yourself (I hope being a lunatic like her more often is an option lol).
Overall, I really can’t help but play every route or combination because all of the characters and their interactions are really fun. Can’t wait for chapter 6
So, there’s currently a tiny exploit of sorts in the game. Or maybe a “feature”, idk:
*if (coreadvancement)
*selectable_if ((((freeap >= (100 - powexp)) or (freeap >= (100 - agiexp))) or (freeap >= (100 - forexp))) or (freeap >= (100 - solexp))) #Advance one of your Combat Cores. [Unallocated AP: ${freeap}]
// ...
*choice
#Advance your Power Core by +1. [Costs ${pdisplay}AP]
// ...
#Advance your Fortitude Core by +1. [Costs ${fdisplay}AP]
// ...
#Advance you Agility Core by +1. [Costs ${adisplay}AP]
// ...
#Advance your Soul Core by +1. [Costs ${sdisplay}AP]
Because the individual options aren’t checked against the amount of freeap vs current cost of the core for that particular type, as long as you have enough freeap to buy the cheapest (atm) core and enable the “advance your cores” menu, you can then buy any of them, not just the ones you can technically afford, even if the cost would put you into “negative free AP” (and it does)
Couple more glitches in the current build, concerning Guiren:
#Break his neck.
// ...
*set metguiren + 100000000
#"It's going to cost you a date, a proper date, and you're going to ask me out [i]infront of your men[/i]."
// ...
*set metguiren + 100000000
The game uses the same digit for two different flags. This means from chapter 5 onwards it’s not going to be able to discern whether the MC has arranged a posh date with Guiren, or killed one of his underlings (unless they’ve done both but then the digit will have value of 2 and probably not what the game expects)
The other issue is with his journal entry:
*if ((((({metguiren#1} = 3) or ({metguiren#1} = 2)) or ({metguiren#1} = 8)) or ({metguiren#1} = 6)) or ({metguiren#1} = 4))
So far he's been a decent
*if ({metguiren#1} = 6)
ally accepting of your bloodthirst.
*elseif ({metguiren#1} = 2)
ally despite being an enemy at your first meeting.
*else
ally, but time will tell if your interests remain aligned.
The first digit only gets values of 1, 2, or 3. Values of 4, 6 or 8 are never set in that slot. If the MC first sided with Desdemona that value will be 1 and won’t pass the initial test, causing this whole bit of text to be skipped even if Guiren and MC are, in fact, allies due to MC’s style being Kurokonton. The bit {metguiren#1} = 2 resolving to ‘enemies at first meeting’ is also wrong, as the value of 2 means the MC left the tavern without picking side.
Not sure about the fire part, because in chapter 5 there’s no mention of it (other than what’s possessed by the Sunbringers, Crow Li specifically) and only the Earth chi is detected where Jack is standing.
I just finished the current demo and OMG is this good!!! I’ll be EAGERLY following and cheering your progress. I’m also willing to make sacrifices to turn Crusher Jack into a RO. He has such good enemies to lovers energy.
@0roxson0 Definitely one of the weirder reports, probably caused by a break from the patch. I’ll give it a look, seems like it skipped something.
@Artemis_Silverbow Thanks! Originally he was an RO, then I removed him and stopped focusing on how to make him an RO and instead focused on himself as a character…which ironically made him come off as a better RO.
Also, to any Patreon subscribers at Martial Artist tier, I realize I’ve done you dirty by offering most of your benefits to the Disciple tier until the first Patreon chapter comes out. As an apology, I’m adding any email address who signed up for tier 2 or 3 to a list of people guaranteed on the closed beta whenever we get to the final chapters, even if you’re not paying at that point.
