Well I am in favor of the reincarnated Angelo theory.
If you play Aoyusumu style before the training you ask him about the saint statue and he says that the statue is of a dead man and he is very much alive. Also later on if you ban gambling on ship then you get an additional technique and he says something about “Ascension” and then covers it up by saying he meant advancement. So I think it would make sense that he reached Ascension in his previous life and then either died or decided to reincarnate himself for achieving something. His current self isn’t the saint but has the memories of one. Or maybe we are all overthinking it and he is just some guy from the lineage of that saint.
Also you can destroy the shrines yourself on the Aoyusumu path so that doesn’t really mean much I believe(Even on other paths you can do it). Other than that people on Aoyusumu can hear “prayers” or calls for help which you can too if you are Aoyusumu(Adept).

You get some extra scenes earlier in the game with whoever happens to be your style trainer. So by picking the style which has Desdemona or Tian Fang as the trainer/specialist you’ll get more content with them.
So long as you cling to waving around swords you’re stuck with Leona.

It seems i will have to wait for chapter 7b, the good news is we already have a scene on the tiger trials but its only in the very ending.

I mean, you can still have a sword and use it in fights without making it a style. Even a cursed one if that’s your fancy.

Looks like reptile yokai is becoming my favourite race in this IF from this alone. Oh and to ask about the corruption stat I just did a kurokonton playthrough and in chapter five when taio scans me it says I’ve got an interesting amount of corruption when I never really did anything that would corrupt me. I destroyed his path manual when I first met him after our fight and haven’t done any sketchy demonic stuff so I don’t know where that came from unless it’s because I’m using cursed chi so I’m automatically corrupted to a minor degree. Done a saint and mido playthrough with the same choice and everything and I never got Taio mentioning to me that I’ve been corrupted.

What do you actually mean by “the best stats”?
I think they mean most useful.
Persuasion, Survival, Insight, Lore, & Handseals in my opinion.
@Johnny_Singh it all comes down to what type of playthrough you want. You could also just use jade foundation and max all stats.
Also @cultivator-anon when code diving I saw the femMC lines and reactions and god are they funny, you make me want make a female character just for the gag

Shouldn’t Alchemy be by far the best because of all the AP buffs from the treasure.
