What in the world are you all on about on this? Why are you all discussing POMA whilst not on POMA and on Aura Clash’s?
Does excess stat convert to something else? What if, say, perception is too high?
I have no cap on stats as your childhood bonuses currently ensure you get at least some variety. If your Perception is too high it’ll be wasted on a few checks but certain rolls are designed to benefit a stat without limit, like rewarding Power exp equal to (2 * Perception) as a hypothetical.
As a specific off the top of my head, I know Perception improves the AP you get from hunting for Soul Treasures in Chapter 3 and there’s no cap on how much it helps.
Is it possible to not get any elements? Should we even?
Yes, it is possible (simply reject the options where you can acquire it, and don’t seek it on your own) but there doesn’t seem to be any benefit to this. MC themselves mentions that getting element(s) could be their trump card in the incoming trials, so not having one seems more like sabotaging yourself, than anything else.
As you can see, nobody is talking about it anymore.Go on with your day
It definitely possible you’re never forced to take an element you do have to pick a style though. That being said the only reason not to take element if you want a specific combination that may not be available yet. For example as of right now it’s impossible to pick both Light and Water as your two elements so you can pick one and then you would have to wait until the other is available
Anon i need my fix man im getting the shakes the chapter two doses don’t do anything anymore, and just hearing about the next fix gets my arm itchy…im sorry i think that was too much
I feel you my guy, I was unable to write for the most part for 5 weeks so we’re facing a delay but progress has been good since then. Made 14k words in the last 3 days, aiming for 20k by Saturday and then another 20k next week. The real delay will be the two fights planned, then a week of sloppy bugfixes and playtesting.
Sorry if you already answered this but is the next update going to be a small one or the entire chapter like the last one?
@cultivator-anon
It’s all good things happens
It was intended to be a half-chapter in 2 weeks but with the current progress I’m considering tackling it head-on and dropping a whole chapter in a month (I’m sure the 2 remaining fight scenes will be harder than I’m anticipating).
I liked the demo and have no complaints about the writing, however, the gender locked heterosexual romances frankly just seem like a needless restriction.
I understand being uncomfortable with writing smut outside of your own sexuality, but frankly all you have to do is remove specific wording (specifically genitals, and secondary sex characteristics) regarding the player character (while keeping the ones for the romance options), and adding pronoun and gendered language variation based on the PC gender. Youd still be writing heterosexual smut. just heterosexual smut that vague enough that it can be applied to M/M or F/F.
Again, thats the only complaint i have. everything else is amazing. But hosted games and choice of games are pretty intentionally LGBT friendly platforms, and have a very very large lgbt audience in comparison to other IF platforms. Alienating a large part of your audience is a choice i personally wont be making for my own projects, especially when all it takes is some gramatical changes that are mostly automatic alterations done by the programing.
I fully understand not being comfortable with it, but even as a gay man who finds the idea of heterosexual or lesbian sex actively unappealing and to a degree triggering im still going through with allowing it in my projects through the means i stated above.
In fact, you could even keep exactly what you have, and just have a variant of the same scenes with the changes i suggestion exclusive to the same sex romances. thats what im doing. Slightly more descriptive M/M content, but just as much M/F or F/F content. Gender locking actually takes far more work from my experience with choice script.
Write what you want. You obviously arent required to include same sex content, or take advice from anyone here. Im just offering my opinion and a potential solution to the discomfort you have with writing lgbt content should you choose to take it (my solution being that you straight up dont write it. you just edit the heterosexual content slightly to the point that it can passably function in a same sex scenario).
i just sadly wont be purchasing this on release due to the fact that id be missing out on a sizable amount of content that i find important to the story.
The author has addressed this multiple times already it’s alright voicing your opinion on it but let’s not try to talk the author into doing something he’s already stated he uncomfortable with.
With that said the romance in This game is a very minor part of the story, at least right now. There’s only one character that’s has a full romance scene written and it’s short one. So even if you don’t romance anyone you still experience 99% of the same content as those who do
exactly, like I understand that some people like @DumbGhost will not be into ths but that not give them the right to force the heterosexual or lgbtq stuff on the author because in the end, this is the author work that many people love and the author themselve created and nobody should be shoving unnecessary sexuality into someone work
bruh you are still not understanding, there is no limitation and just because someone doesn’t add what you want, does not matter because it is they world they created and if is not to your liking then sorry but stop trying to force a person out of they comfort zone if you don’t know how that person truly feels
wait the author even said this, then why were you continuing with this bs if the author was going to try it in other works, you literally brought all this opinions and suggestions that are irrelevant here for no reason but to annoy somebody
Im not going to argue this with you I really dont care. youre free to not like my opinion all you want. my reasons for posting this are because i would like to want to play this game again. i enjoyed the mechanical aspects and the writing was great. i only read it out of curiosity and because the concept is interesting.
i just dont want to add it to my library due to that one point, and offered a suggestion based on that one point.
If youre going to be rude you can reply to someone else.
how am i being rude when I was talking to someone like you that started picking on a author that you just now said that you love some part of the game they made
when did i pick on the author? i stated an opinion and suggested a way to appeal to myself and a lot of other commenters who had the same opinion as myself. youre the one who started throwing around accusations at me, accusing me of trying to force someone to do something when i didnt.
I enjoyed the content, but if romance is on the table, I want to partake aswell, and since im not able to, i simply wont. simple as that.
