You know, I’ve been wanting to make a familiar that’s a smaller in size, but of course, just as powerful. I think a cat creature of some sort from mythology would fit this bill perfectly!
Cabbit or Carbuncle would be a nice familiar that is cat like
Top picture is a cabbit & bottom is a carbuncle
There is also the cat-sìth
Cat-sith and Shisa have been added as of today; and I’ve just finished writing a scene wherein the former is mentioned! Your suggestions are wonderful and highly appreciated!
do the familiars have to be animals if not i hope its not too late to suggest familiars i think a Mermaid would be nice
edit: well is it bad that i want that species option for my mc i have never seen thet in an IF before
I think that could be cool, but I’m pretty sure that would be more like a friendship than a familiar. Mermaids are part human, so they have the intelligence and emotions of people. Especially since we’re in a world with other humanoid people.
Merfolk are a humanoid species in game! But I am always more than happy to take suggestions should you have any; please don’t be afraid to leave them!
I figure I should take this opportunity to do a very quick update! I was holding off as I didn’t want to be rude and bump my topic if there hadn’t been any updates to the demo itself.
Just hit 14k as of now! Progress is slow as my studies and family have taken precedence, but we’re nearing the end. Finished third RO meeting and just this second started on the fourth and last meeting! Once I finish the general story of the chapter though, I have a to-do list of things I want to go back in and add, namely, a secret path you can take for your whole relationship with the third RO. It’s a work in progress, but I’d like to add little individual quirks to all the other RO’s paths, too. We’ll see how things work out! Species select is still up in the air. Always taking more suggestions on that, but I think it’s a conversation for when chapter two is done.
It’s looking to be about 15-20k words and finished beginning/middle of October.
Thank you for your endless patience and support all!
Familiar are not always mindless animal or emotionless objects. Even if it has a humanoid feature or/and emotion and/or intelligence it doesn’t mean I can’t be a familiar. A familiar is not always a slave nor a object or pet.
I’m sure that was not the intention! Though, I understand your meaning completely. If it helps any, in this universe, familiars are all mythical creatures of some sort and will not possess humanoid features. However, they have the thoughts, feelings, and intelligence of any walking and talking non-familiar, and most treat them as such. I hope this clears things up a bit!
so sorry if im annoying but if you do decide give us the option the of a non human mc will the Merfolk be an option for the mc, Also i love the idea of pleying a non human mc there is only one IF i have seen do thet. i love the book so far and hope to see more
Have you got a tubular or something like that for updated
You could never be bothersome at all! If it does end up happening, yes, merfolk would be an option. Here are the list of hybrid species in the world from my note (that would be available to play if that does become an option).
Walker Species
Elves
Satyrs (legs, ears, tail, horns of a goat)
Fauns (legs, ears, tail, horns of a deer)
Dragonfolk
Felinefolk
Kitsunes
Caninefolk
Fairies
Succubi/Incubi
Harpies (a slightly modified version with far more humanoid features)
Merfolk (a slightly modified version with legs, but still fins and scales)
Hornedfolk (humanoids of ambiguous descent with horns)
And possibly a bit more if it comes up, but this is a pretty comprehensive list. They usually come from certain regions (the exception being large cities/metropolises where it’s a bit of a melting pot of all different species) and have their own cultures, for example fairies earn their surnames, dragonfolk live in civilized tribes, and more.
That aside, my memory may be serving me wrong, but I think Keeper of the Sun and Moon was released on HG a while ago and you can play as a hybrid there. I haven’t played it in years, but if my game doesn’t serve your needs, please support them!! I remember it being awesome, so I think you might like it!
Thank you again, your feedback means the world to me!!
Sorry! Do you mean like a social media page or a tumblr? Not now, but if things pick up a bit, I’d be happy to make one in the future!
So, tritons.
Ohh! This is a thing?! That’s awesome, yes, that!!
For varying degrees of fishiness:
Like It so far, but, its a bit early to say more… however i have one question: will the familiar be set on stone for plot reasons, or, the player can choose?
The player gets to pick! There have been a lot of creatures added to the “that’d be cool” list, so I’m not sure how many options we’ll ultimately have
With there bein a Dragon, griffin or Kirin in the midst, im happy xD
Also… the kirins are of the japanese mitology? And, theres going to be description of the creatures like a Codex in the future?
I know it may appear as demands, but, mythological creatures is just a topic that i love, so knowing how others prefer to “see” and iterpret them in their world is a bônus
So this may be a strange question, but could Kiyoko become a familiar? Or the other nonhumans?
I was thinking of Zero no Tsukaima, or Mairimashita! Iruma-kun as examples of one humanoid having another as familiar, and with a human being ‘alien’ in this world maybe the difference between the creature populace and protagonist is large enough to make it work.
