Update! 10/17/25
It’s been two years since the last update, and I have to admit that I thought this game was dead for good. I loved the idea, and I felt I was doing the “simulator” aspect enough justice, but it lacked heavily in personality. A stock car sim, even fictional, requires people in the world. Rivals, friends, and more. Unfortunately, I suck at writing character interaction scenes.
Well, that has been mitigated, because I am thrilled to announce @G_Kelly as my new co-author, focusing on creating the personalities around the league and adding scenes other than race after race. One such scene is already added (or at least expanded), introducing the other drivers on the MC’s first race team. At least one other scene is planned to follow in that first year of the career. So two special race moments, two interaction scenes. Now there’s at least SOME balance.
I’ve also added a new racing scene, but you might not see it. It only appears if you’ve been racing at least a couple of seasons, are a solid prospect (see the “welcome” stat), and have 0 career wins. This scene gives you a chance to correct that winless stat, IF you are a good enough driver. Takes a lot of skill and some luck to get it, btw. Though it’s worth noting that, in theory, you can get this scene every year once you trigger it…unless you win.
Total is now at 35k words, including a lot of code. I removed small amounts from the old demo, but added more content.
