What Makes A Shinobi

You play as a young orphan trying to find their place in a village during an uneasy time of peace. The great wars are over, legends still walk the world, and power is rising again… but your story isn’t about destiny handed to you. You will become a Shinobi.

Born into a time of rising tension beneath a fragile peace, you begin as a newly graduated academy student and grow into something more… or fall trying.

Your journey will take you through the quiet politics, personal struggles, and shifting loyalties of shinobi life.

Shape your identity — play as male or female and define your personality, values, and outlook as you discover the meaning of trust, teamwork… and the pain of betrayal.

Master your abilities — wield ninjutsu, rare bloodline gifts, physical skill, intellect, or charisma. The techniques you choose — and how you use them — may determine victory or disaster in battle. (WIP)

Build bonds — form meaningful connections, rivalries, and even romance as you try to understand those who fight beside you… and question whether anyone can truly be understood. (WIP)

Face growing conflict — from local disputes to the shadow of another great war, you may help unite the shinobi world… free your village from endless violence… or become part of the cycle yourself. (WIP)

Any feedback is welcome haha, I’m still new to this.

What’s the threshold to pass the tree walking technique exam? I keep getting the ‘attempted’ exam result.

It started off decently interesting, but the gameplay loop is incredibly boring once you get past the very start. I don’t know if that will change later but I’m at week 12 and just want to actually get to the interesting events already you know? Only things that broke the monotony are the few encounters with Daiki, and they’re short and few inbetween.

I found myself just mashing through the repeated weeks of mostly recycled text while grinding up stats and money but I really just can’t do this anymore. I want to actually have dialogue choices, do things that give me more than a single line of throwaway flavor text, to ~use~ the training.

The game needs to have more of an actual story to interact with over just constant training with no events of substance. Selecting to spend time with someone does nothing since you don’t actually select a classmate to become friends with or anything, you don’t get any indepth fights that make you feel like you’re progressing (It’s all “you win, clean”) which is very bland especially when it’s the fifth one like that, and I’ve watched the dialogue for most of the events cycle many times.

Imo you need to really just rework this. Either make it so you can spend the training period much faster (a week a time maybe?) or restructure the game to be more of several indepth events and story branches with small timeskips.
I do wish you luck with this though.

Inclined to agree there’s nothing but a loop that gets dull after a few seconds and not much choice or substance in regards to the story itself such as why exactly mc desires to be a shinobi or anything in fact there’s no gender option in the start despite the info saying we can pick the mc’s gender. It’s just continuous clicking with nothing else but that aside there’s an idea or concept, it’s just not translated well and I think a rework or restructuring is needed. Good luck on this however and I’ll be keeping my interested eye here as well.

Your writing such a good story here I can see the plot you just have to find the ways to express it. Please I wouldn’t want you to give up on this it’s the closest thing I’ve seen to the Shinobi tale

when exactly does the annoying loop end? because there’s no actual dialogues after a few weeks.

I like what you have here, but I feel like the flow could be better.

The training arc could be done in chunks to cut down on the clicking. Like “What would you like to focus on for the next 4 weeks?” instead doing it week by week.

At some point I went into negative stamina and could still train, and by the time I figured that out my character had insane stats for a 9yo. I ended up spending months resting to regain stamina.

Yeah, I’m fixing that rn.

How to unlock the chakra

I stumbled over this error at the fighting exam:
genin_exam line 61: It is illegal to fall in to an *else statement; you must *goto or *finish before the end of the indented block.

I need to say I liked the repetitive way, and I had a few nice remembrance about Anko, Kakashi, Naruto, Rock Lee and Maito Gai, and even Asuma and Kurenai xD

I’m looking forward to make better friends out of the other students and maybe to make even friends with the other teams outside of our class.

Can vouch for this error. Took a different route to get there, but it exists. That said, I like this concept and am looking forward to patches and updates!

hmm feel like these characters come from Naruto shippuden.

is the repetitive looping suppose to be Infinite Tsukuyomi?

The story is shaping up good, maybe you’d want to avoid some repetitive actions like every time at the library someone sits next to you to give you an information randomly. It seems forced. You can make the same event but differently each time if that’s what you’re going for .

And there’s an error that stops the play genin_exam line 61: It is illegal to fall in to an *else statement; you must *goto or *finish before the end of the indented block.

Keep up the good work

of course of course rn, its a beginning stage i’d say, as the mc is trying to pass the genin trial, to become a genin and we’ll get much more into detail and flavor once he’s a genin and on a actual team.
