Who are the strongest characters you’ve ever played as? CoG/HG/HC games only.
Now this can be done in two different categories. One for the most powerful characters in terms of strength/powers and the other in terms of will/personality.
Out of all the IFs you’ve played, who are the most strongest to you. Mine is the MC from Hero to Villain by @adrao .
Don’t know if it’s what you’re looking for since it’s a different level than literal super hero, but if you want 80’s action hero my combat oriented Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven mc felt like he could probably kick Rambos ass.
I’ve always thought that the Life of a Wizard Wizard was the strongest of the three possible Daria mage MCs (unless Lost Heir MC goes Luck Mage). I’d say LotW Wizard is the strongest MC, because if you built them right, there isn’t anyone around who can really challenge them (unless Lost Heir MC goes Luck Mage. Then they are the strongest). The MCs in Kiss from Death and The Passenger are probably stronger, but they do have challengers around who are of equal caliber to them.
The strongest “human” MC (MC from a world where no one has superpowers and/or magic, including MC) I’ve ever played, would be the Tin Star Marshal.
The strongest MCs in terms of fortitude would be a tie between Sidestep and the ITFO Marshal.
My Mecha Ace pilot with 6 Piloting and extreme tunnel vision (maxed out Warrior and Deliberate) has a trophy sword at his right arm, a missing left one and managed to not only survive, but thrive in the war that lasted additional two years because of his efforts. He’s an absolute bastard and belongs at the gallows just like his sister, but hey, he kills things very well and dearly loves his war criminal boyfriend.
Hero or villain, Breech, Life of a wizard, The last wizard, The vampire regent, Zombie exodus safe haven, Tin star, The war for the west, Ghost simulator, A kiss from death, Life of a mobster, Space force captain and Tokyo wizard. This is not a ranking order, I just threw out names as they popped up in my head. Unsupervised and the thousand of us may join the rank once released.
In Demon Recollect you are so powerful you can only lose a fight by deliberately losing the fight, and even then losing activates your Demonic powers to safeguard you. I remember googling how to lose just to active Demonic Powers.
In the WiP game Broken Fable, you can play a very special character (a deity for example), old, forgotten and very powerful, in modern world of superpowed people.
I don’t want to spoil the story, but if you choose Ishtar as a starting character, you can experience in Chapter Two one of the most brutal display of power I’ve read so far. Your character absolutely dominating 3 super in a gory and very well written combat scene. That’s my favorite so far in terms of Power Fantasies.
For me, a character being “the strongest” means that they have no credible challengers in their home world/time period. The Tin Star Marshal, therefore, feels stronger than the ITFO Marshal, even though they are both normal humans and considered peak warriors (I am assuming that the Tin Star marshal did not completely ignore all combat stat boosts [more difficult than you think]) in their world/time period; the Marshal of Lander County can handily beat accomplished gunslingers in gun duels (or use another solution to win), while Vuk is presented as (and the narration supports him being) a credible challenge for the Marshal of Kanton in their Chapter 8 duel even though there are many ways the Marshal can win regardless of their build and skillset (and there is no way around him).
Same reason why the Passenger MC doesn’t rate as “the strongest” to me (it is a very good story though and scratched a particular itch); their main enemies are other eldritch beings which are capable of facing them on an even footing, even though the Passenger MC would fold any human that attempts to fight them like a wet tissue.
I see. You have a very interesting take. I too don’t find it all fun when there is no rival or no enemies that can match your power. That’s why in anime they keep raising the stakes and send in stronger villains to keep the MC as the under dog.
1st. Pele from WIP Broken Fable
2nd. MC from WIP Vendetta
3rd. MC from Lost Heir
When “Unsupervised” gets released and “The Thousand of Us” and “Super System: Monster Evolution” gets more developed, the listing might change to this.
1st. MC from Super System: Monster Evolution
2nd. MC from The Thousand of Us
3rd. Pele from Broken Fable
Regarding my ranking for Broken Fable. Zeus would’ve been on this list if Pele wasn’t so bad ass and obviously more powerful or if I didn’t see this topic before I played Pele’s Chapter 2.
