"Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names" Demo Available Now!

I assume shes a reference to Giselle from Vtm Night Road more than anything, especially since she too believes in norse mythology and our boss in game is basically a vampire as well.

i would love to agree with you but overall, it doesn’t make too great of a difference if you’re playing a Galliard or Ahroun because of the Rage Penalty. nearly all intellectual and social skills are basically auto fails at high rage and much more difficult at medium Rage. What you’re saying is true for the Ragabash and Theurge though, and to a lesser extent, the Philodox

I really miss the old rage system, playing as a five rage ahroun was so funny, you really have to get rage under control

What about promotions in Werewolf: The Apocalypse, how does that play a role after getting a job? And how to get them?

There seems to be a lot of hidden reference to night road or vtm in general, like when Nomi tells that their is paul from the biosphere mission, the mage Giselle or when meeting Odin or a fragment of him considering that he is in torpor.

Dunno, I think that’s just a minor promotion at your job, later in the game. Probably for something like the boss likes you for some reason or you’re the only one who’s shown up to their past 3 shifts. Might get you a little more money and or keys to a toolshed or something minor like that. I wouldn’t sweat it.

Just pushed a new build.

Aww, no major effects, like some influence, knowledge, favors, or anything interesting

For werewolves in WoD, human jobs are tiresome little necessities if you don’t have a strong pack with a functioning caern and lots of human contacts for funding. Jobs are really just for mere survival, occasionally for convenience in an investigation.

Once you get some packmates and start cleaning up some areas of power, you can think about joining a tribe and start getting Gifts from spirits, and that’s where the real fun begins. Plenty of boosts, Glory, Honor, and Wisdom to be found there, and they’re the real focus of the game.

That really is gorgeous! Nin is one of my favorite characters, and that portrait somehow manages to capture both her feral nature and her vulnerability. I’ve loved Amy Wilkins’s work in previous WoD games, but she’s really outdone herself here.

I’m super excited to see more of the artwork - I’ve already played the game several times in testing, so I know the story and characters well, but I haven’t seen the art yet. I’m looking forward to meeting these characters face-to-face.

Man.
Made a silver fang philidox to try and become a leader, immediately see we already have that exact thing.
Time to make a stealth lad or some shit seems like the only thing they don’t have in the tribe XD

Woohoo! I love Nin’s portrait so much. It sounds weird, but I love how her hands just look a tiny bit too large for her body. Better for playing guitar and makes her feel that much more wolfy, like a pup that hasn’t quite grown into their paws. I love all the NPCs in this game, but I feel especially mama-bear protective of Nin, sweet summer child who sucks at spelling.

Eh, my take is that Melodie’s got enough going on in her life, specific to her and her family, that your philodox Silver Fang can be quite different. Tribe and auspice don’t necessarily map cleanly onto “party roles” like D&D or Final Fantasy. You and she might obtain very different Gifts, for example, and your conflict resolution preferences might be very different.

In any case, I don’t think any of your packmates get jealous or weird about which tribe you choose. They all take their tribes seriously, seem to sincerely welcome other like-minded Garou, and want to encourage them on their path of devotion to their Patron Spirit. I think of it kind of somewhere in between picking a major in college and choosing a religion. They all want more members, especially here in Northampton.

(That said, a stealth lad, maybe in the Glass Walker, Bone Gnawer, or Shadow Lord vein, could be a nice solid build).

I ended up playing a Bone Gnawer ahroun once (the tribe I originally had in mind for him wasn’t actually available, so he ended up as a Bone Gnawer by default) and actually dating Podge, and he wasn’t weird about it at all. And although my character and Podge naturally had quite a bit in common, my character brought his own take to his tribe and auspice and wasn’t just a Podge clone.
