@Novus
Updated your title to show that there is a demo.
The next update should come in the next day or two, I’m creating variables in the character selection process to make the text and explanations a little more specific to what is chosen.
After that, the only things left on the stats screen will be updated over time. (countries/territory, lexicon, and characters), which gives me leave to begin the first real chapter!
Two questions:
Will there be any sort of romance?
and if so
Gay option?
There will be romantic options for gay,bi, and straight people. I’ve about settled on two for each.
Updated! There is more information available in the stats screen, and I added a choice for your mother’s profession as well. I’ve begun planning out personalized results depending on the careers you choose for your father and mother, but it’s going to take some variable creation
Now it’s time to get started on the first chapter!
The game looks great and has a lot of potential but I noticed that when you choose that your mother is noble:
line 178: Neither true nor false:0
Going back to fix it now, thanks!
glad to help
@Novus
Bug found in the stats screen, under “Important Persons”.
choicescript_stats line 241: Tabs and spaces appear on the same line
Should be fixed. Thanks!
Now it says -
choicescript_stats line 241: Illegal mixing of spaces and tabs; this line has a tab, but there were spaces on line 240
Also:
EARLS/COUNTESSES:
The title of Earl belongs to those who betrayed their lieges and joined House Redding in their reunification of Etrea. After unification was completed, many Earls were awarded lands from the lieges they betrayed.
VISCOUNTS/VISCOUNTESSES:
The heirs of the more powerful lords that joined King Charles were awarded with Viscountcies as a reward for service. As such, the majority of viscountcies are secondary titles to more powerful families.
There should be a space between them as it jumbles up in the game. When King Charles is awarding them, saying awarded viscounties would be better than awarded with as the with is an unnecessary preposition after were.
I’m interested to see the questions about countries or the religion, if anyone has them
Well I have a question, do you have any maps to show the rest of the world or if not what does the world look like? Is it similar to ours as Etrea + the surroundings are similar to Great Britain?
There are no other maps than what is present on the stats screen, though I am working on making more. The general landmasses will be similar to our world, though I’ll probably shake it a bit so it’s not uncannily similar.
And is there any chance of us ever leaving, however briefly to one of these continents?
I’ve been thinking about allowing an opportunity like that to arise. I might finish this story without that option and just add it into the next if I decide to expand on the world. The major obstacle for doing something like that would be coming up with names, religions, etc of all of those places.
Well if you ever need any help I’ll be happy to lend a hand.
Sorry that I haven’t updated in a couple days, I’ve been hit with unexpected work. Since I can’t write, I’ll be spending more time attempting to develop the nations and maps the story will need
I disagree, it’s not the first time you made something cool…
