Isn’t there supposed to be a 10th?
That’s what it says, but I haven’t caught wind of a 10th RO… unless the 10th happens to be choosing to not romance anyone at all.
Thats called loving yourself. Embrace confidance.
It doesn’t really go anywhere but you’re able to be attracted to Pinkuju in the first game, maybe her?
I never wanted romance her in first place I only banged her once. It was my Kirk playthrough. I was not her friend even. And she was banging everyone. So I thought this would be like The consort in Mass effect. It was my rebel Kirk playthrough. In fact I tried romance oli breeze the robot and pinki that Versus one play. They suddenly game decided Kirk was convinced to be Veruna pet slave . Funny fact I chose all not veruna interested choices before and my character it was 45% and more interested in pinku … Suddenly nope you are in Bondage love with Veruna WTF?WHERE IS THE SKIP BUTTON… KIRK NEVER HAD TO SUFFER THIS … I mean I didn’t get my consent. GAME DIDN’T SAY WARNING BANG THIS ALIEN MEANS ETERNAL SERVITUDE AND BDSM FETISH.
My only other thought is that, maybe, the 10th is someone we met in Book 2 but don’t actually get to romance until Book 3? We’ve only met one of the Destructive Versians, after all. It would be interesting if one of the ROs was from their side.
I think is the elite we don’t know yet. or the our own planet follower.
It wouldnt surprise me. Imagine a destructive fourth path to go with that and make the game even broader.
(Fifth path if there’s a neutral path)
Considering the pilot from the planet we created went insane after meeting their creator… I don’t think that could be it.
Well… considering Lord Grahl is a Destructive Versian, I can’t help but wonder why exactly the two groups are categorized as they are. One of the main tracked stats of the game is Growth, and Grahl goes on to say that he embodies, what was it… growth through conflict? The game hasn’t really revealed yet why the Verses sorts people out like it does. I’m hoping that gets explained in the next book.
Isn’t there already a neutral path? I thought you could choose to stick to yourself and focus on your own growth without concerning yourself over the politics of Versus. Mind you, I haven’t actually tried playing that way yet. Maybe in one of my next runs.
Have yet to finish a playthrough, and am impressed with the vibrance, color, and creativity unto which it is vastly being shaped into my favorite of the author’s works–and yet I had to cease and search for clarity at one large boulder to that path. In The Lost Ones, a romance with Breeze, (and Oli) was initiated, and then Venuma confessed of their dalliance. In The Elite Trials I desired to confront Breeze and MC was a bit miffed to be denied that, where likely the relationship would end.
Fast forward to Rosae questioning my romantic intentions and the game decides for me that I’m Team Breeze? A bug hopefully, or, alas, have I just been placed on a train where I’m not allowed to be the conductor? Does this lock out all other romantic potentials?
So far it’s a bit better than the first one, though I see Zachary still presents some matters in an overly simplified manner. For example, if you choose sexual dimorphism on your planet, the women are explicitly stronger than the men while being second-class citizens… Which is a gross oversimplification of reality, which I assume he was attempting to parallel, considering his recent Heroes game.
I finally found a way to get 2 stats to 100%, my MC is becoming very powerful. Now I have Tech Apprentice and Novice, Energy Apprentice and Novice, and Command Apprentice.

How? I tried leveling both, but I only got command 100 and energy around 50.
Tell me your secrets!
Let me see if I remember:
Disorient Grog with a Priscan shareburst mindbolt because I don’t trust Grog to let me pass.
command +7
energy +7
Go on the offensive by preparing to stun the dragon with a Priscan shareburst mindbolt.
command +5
energy +5
I want to eat exotic foods that I’ve never tried before, like vibrating ectoplasm and luminescent shelling.
energy +12
Pure, destructive energy force.
energy +18
command +18
Blast the chroncon agent back into the portal to buy more time to decide what to do. Because if I don’t like the options before me, I simply create my own.
energy +10
command +10
The Alchemist.
energy +23
Storms.
command +10
Ambleron’s population eventually cultivated natural abilities based on their ancient element of lore, giving them great elemental powers that turned the tide of battle.
energy +5
Follow Prince Everly’s commanding lead and trap Lord Grahl so that we can hopefully attempt to escape.
command +10
Rule by fire.
command +40
energy +20
That’s how I did it.
Thanks! A couple of those I didn’t want to take because I thought it was kind of the “mean” choice, but oh well. I guess I’ll have to make the sacrifice for stats.
Yeah… If there’s one thing I dislike on most CoG titles is that they try to put you into a box and label it. People don’t always make decisions based on a stat, they make them thinking on what they’d do if they were there themselves.
If you want to be powerful, you can’t be yourself, you have to follow a path. That’s disappointing, considering how far we’ve come with those awesome games.
I rp so I do what have sense for my character. You still could win within max stats that is put there for metagamers it is not needed at all.
I recognize that. But, whenever a game provides you some sort of measurement of skill or mastery, I like to try and achieve as much as I can, and this becomes complicated when you need to use intuition to figure out what the author thinks fits best within the category you wish to play as.
Like Hitman: Absolution. Everything you do is tied to a score. You can play and finish the game in whatever way you want, but when the game decides for you what is worth the most, you may feel that you are doing it “wrong” by taking an attitude that is different than the established “best.” The same goes for most CoG titles.
Mastery, Growth, and “Consistency with your stats” are common attributions on Zachary’s games, and I think that’s great, but when “consistency” limits you (and it really may do so no matter what you are role playing) because the author has a different take on what stat a particular choice represents, then you feel… hindered, by the game. Capped.
I’m assuming Command Apprentice lets you use that coercion ability that Lady Venuma has? I remember my MC always getting a splitting headache whenever he tried to use it, and I’m assuming it’s 'cause I didn’t reach Apprentice level.
Is it possible to let Lady V’s coup succeed while the MC remains neutral ?
