i am using firefox on windows 11
is there romance or are they too young I remember this having no romance then I heard some say it does, kinda all over
Yes there’s romance. Six ROs in total.
I’m sorry but, you gotta be kidding me. This is like tenth times I have to repeat the game because of choices that somehow led my character to their deaths every single time. Isn’t there any way to put at least save slots or checkpoints?
I won’t leave you hanging mate. I’ll add a save system in the 1st update.
Tried out yesterday and would say almost finished the whole thing, really loved there are romances going on as in a game about car racing with the adrenaline and all how can it not be about lust and love and everything in between? Unlocking Amaya’s romance was pretty easy and damn the lass is just so lovely it has the marks of first teen romance all over with the extra drama with her unfortunate father and kinda broken family like yours, couldn’t get close to Britney however and her route remains unavailable making me wonder if you gotta join a gang or something like that to get closer to her, can you romance Angela? She seems far too moderate for the racing world to be honest like the good girl in the crazy city of Los Santino, my playthrough was all about being an independent racer without ties to any of them dubious groupings cause honestly fun narrative maybe but hella of a bad idea, really enjoyed Lakeem as a pal during the playthrough with paying off his debt and ever going over his lyrics the kind of rapper he wants to be, Brock was as shitty as you expected and got my MC got after repteadly provoking him the apy back of the lad which eh very American film like that I can tell, Jason as your rival but also your introduction to illegal racing worked wonders approved truly of what was going on there. Kinda concerned about the mom it seems all new love interests she can get are straight up dubious mafia men, was betting on Addam before I lost my progress see down there but we saw him with a bloody hand right? Will tell her to just be single and happy given the stuff she can get pulled on, greatly done with the broken family for the MC by the way, the setting just gobbles you up in the best of ways.
My main complain about the game and asking you writer that you please add it at some point if you can is somewhat of a save system, it’s very annoying having to replay everything after reaching one of those Bad endings visual novel style, the most annoying of all dying during the car race against Brock when you can slam yourself against a SUV, mate giving us an option to restart from the beginning of the race or load from your last save point would help so much, this feels like a quality of life feature so needed if you don’t want your players like me kinda giving up replaying for a long while after losing your progress like that. Beyond that the game is solid, the characters are amazing and you really capture the 80’s in a way that has made me return to interactive novels with interest and truly enjoyed it, specially during the drought of releases that has been going on in the community recently, would even watch a TV series or play a game based on it like there aren’t enough teen shows like this I tell you!
I love this! This is kinda feedback I’ve been looking for! And I’m pleased to see that you’ve enjoyed it as much as you have.
I’ll definitely add the save system in the update
After you’re done. Could you leave a review on the store sharing your experience?
Of course mate, will probably return anyways trying to unlock Britney’s storyline, like cannot leave behind the blonde girl in romance for a teen novel! Also I’m genuinely curious about what you will do through the rest of the story with the MC’s dad, seen little from him and he’s in the relationship tab after all, will we meet the half siblings and new family? Could be bittersweet, could be wholesome want to see more certainly.
Additional point about this– as someone who speaks English as a foreign language, I find it really hard to understand. I caught maybe half from what I read from the demo. So hopefully the things that the player needs to get are not delivered written like that.
Well I don’t wanna spoil the story but there is more between the MC and their Father. And thanks for the support mate!
Hey Lils. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the game.
Most of the dialogue is clean and easy to understand. It’s just a few interactions with certain characters where that may happen. Lakeem being an easy example.
The slang I was trying to capture does seem a little off putting from that perspective.
Still, I understand and will take it into consideration. Communication is not worth it if people aren’t able to understand what you’re trying to convey.
I meant that if something a character says in the slang is important for the player to understand, and the MC is supposed to understand it (which I think they are, I at least didn’t see any indication to otherwise), it might be a good idea to clarify it in the narration!
I don’t mind not being able to understand what a character says overmuch (although I need to be in a specific mood to read it because it requires so much more mental bandwidth) as long as I can still follow the story.
Thanks for the advice Lils! I’ll take it into consideration the next time I use any slangs.
And do you have any other thoughts to share on your experience thus far? How do you feel about the world and the characters?
I’ve only played the demo so far. But I can tell I hate the father.
Oh don’t we all ![]()
I’m having fun so far. But something is really bugging me. It’s about the morning after the first race with Brock. I escaped from the police and even the mafia but the game still treats me like I got interrogated by cops and blackmailed and threatened by the mafia.
Congrats on the full release! I just finished a first playthrough last night. All in all, it was pretty fun. The lack of a save function was really frustrating, but I see you’re already taking steps to implement one, so that’s good. There are some parts of the game that feel… off to me, though.
Idk if I’m doing something wrong, but there’s virtually no way to get any interactions with Brittany, Jason, or Brock in the early game, despite the fact that there are options to try and sit with them at lunch and ask them to hang out. I’m trying to romance Brittany on a second playthrough, but I can barely even find a chance to talk to her. Why add them as hangout options so early if they want nothing to do with us?
Thanks and much love! Glad you enjoyed it!
You’re right about Jason and Brock not wanting anything to do with the MC early on. But for Britney certain conditions need to be met in order to progress with her, such as fame, the number of race you win, her relationship bar, picking the right options when interacting with her.
Then, if you don’t mind me asking, why even give us the option of trying to hang out with them in the beginning? Seems kinda pointless imo.
I also don’t really see any incentive to romance Britney when she barely shows up for the first 1/3rd of the game. I’ve only done the “solo” route so far, where you steal your own car instead of joining a gang. Does she get more screentime if we choose a specific route?
