Yeah while it doesn’t give you as much firepower as the other it does enable you to be a sort of jack of trades being good at strength, awareness, agility and leaving you points to get the others making you good at a lot of things
love the non chalant way i can murder ppl. and of course i had to call the team Main Characters.
Idk if this has been mentioned before but on the costume choosing scene I choose the headgear and non primary stuff first, ran outta money and got stuck there cuz i got no bottom gear.
Might wanna warn the player or fix that.
The author has already has been told about the costumes and will probably fix it with an update so we can at least get a full costume regardless of roles
Here’s a tick I found in the stat screen where the batman mentor gets replaced with chrono
Also already loving the setting here with all the different kinds for powers and lores.
My favorite so far is going with the super strength power, making my mc dress up like sailor moon then pounding the baddies to bits.
In the name of these shredded tighs, I’ll punish you!

Am in the middle of playing the demo at the time of this comment so I might edit it later. Read if you want to. Kinda wish there were more power options like in “Hero or Villain”. I feel like this could be better than that one. In regard to more power options, maybe stuff like, shapeshifting (the animal variety, not transforming into other humans), light or darkness powers (where the usage of darkness powers being similar to how the MCs in Vendetta and Unnatural uses them), gravity, summoning abilities like necromancy or the like (you could even adjust the elemental powers to where you can summons elementals (human or animal shapes) if it’s not already in the demo), maybe add lightning to the elemental powers unless it’s already included in the Air category, telepath powers or just forgo the powers and be like Batman or Ironman if you wanted to.
@Zarkrai i disagree kinda more powers means less uniqueness I would like more powers as well but not at the cost of making everything less cool I had fun with hero or villain but its fight scenes and the use of powers were bland compared to this
@Zarkrai and this already looks like it has a lot going on with different plots and stuff
Just finished playing the demo for the nth time. Loved it. I generally enjoy superhero interactive fiction (Community College Hero, Heroes Rise and of course, the Fallen Hero games) along with some of your previous games (Vampire Regent, Ghost Simulator), and this was no different.
Characterization of the main cast was great. I enjoyed spending time with them individually both platonically and romantically, and approve of the slow-burn in regards to the relationships.
Story-wise I’m intrigued. The world-building is simply excellent and the allusions to well-known comic heroes are things that I’m in favor of. There seems to be some metafictional plot threads going on in the background too and I’m looking forward to that, but I do hope the plot doesn’t lean on it too hard since when done in excess it sometimes breaks the immersion.
For gameplay, I appreciate the option to go villain or anti-hero/anti-villain. Haven’t been able to choose all the villainous options yet because I think I missed some requirements, but it makes for good replayability. I sometimes like to play as affable rays of sunshine who indiscriminately murder everything they come across (and generally just make really bizarre choices) cuz they’re crazy, and any game that gives me that option earns high marks from me.
The powersets of your protagonist offer a similar amount of good variety. I do hope each of the three powers are given their own strengths and weaknesses within the story though, since currently time manipulation seems to be the most useful. Which makes sense because time powers, but I hope the enhanced physiology and elemental control get a buff soon, especially since you only get one third of the max power for the former and have to spend XP improving the latter. At least at the start (the automatic increase to two of your stats when you pick enhanced physiology is a good mitigator though).
I’m hoping there’s a cheats menu in the future, like with your other games. Money, XP, stats, all that jazz. Because while I enjoy being challenged I also like being able to steamroll an entire game by being an uber god-like being when the mood strikes me.
Lastly, is this a standalone CoG game or will there be a follow up? I know usually most of your games are of the one-and-done variety, but media involving superheroes do tend to sequelize much more frequently, so I thought I’d ask just in case.
I don’t usually post on this forum anymore, but I still enjoy interactive fiction and do like to check in now and again when great new games are being made. And this game, most assuredly, is great. Can’t wait to play it in full, and hope you and your team are doing fine.
P.S. A little disappointed there’s no option to go naked or wear nothing but underwear, since it’d be pretty funny if we got occasional lines of dialogue where several characters, even serious ones, keep pointing out that our hero “costume” is basically our birthday suit. Would make for some fun bathos.
tbf, these are supposed to be teenagers so I’m pretty glad we can’t just run around stark naked cause that would just be a bit weird to me.
I may be wrong but im almost certain ive seen things about a War for the west sequel at some point so hopefully this game will also get a sequel especially as it doesnt follow the same kind of format as vampire regent or war for the west.
Some of the tests in the first scene, while checking for Enhanced/Super Strength, were saying just [Strength] by mistake. This should be fixed soon.
That was our idea originally, but we ended up diverting from having too many conjoint choices and instead started making branches for specific power sets. So you usually get an entire set of choices based on your superpower, instead of one single choice that has all possible outcomes for all possible powers.
We had to do this because we’ve been advised not to have more than a specific number of options per choice, and given the amount of powers and stats checks possible, we’d be having choices with over a dozen options in some places.
I’m favorable toward including cheats in the game, but they’d have to be hard-locked so you couldn’t get another superpower or increase your stats above the limit set by your powers. Otherwise, this would break the game completely, as we are always branching the narrative according to powerset.
You don’t exactly what happened after you passed out, and neither does PARENTS, but we can figure something out. There’s the fact that you might have taken Thaumaturge’s gauntlet, and his blood on the scene too.
It’s unreliable, usually short-ranged, often has a short duration, can age your character exponentially faster, and makes it so you have fewer attributes because you have to spread them among all five–just to name a few.
Thanks for the report, it’s fixed now.
No release date yet. We are still writing it, and even after we finish the game, it has to go through the editors. Steam pages are created early in development because the longer it stays there, the more people can wishlist the game prior release.
There’s an item called “Budget Pants” that should appear if you don’t have enough money to buy the cheapest lower-body gear, but either way, we’ll make it so that the first item of each category is free.
Thanks, it should be fixed now.
Characters with Elemental Mastery eventually can unlock Electricity Affinity, but that’s all. We’re going for quality over quantity, as each type of power greatly affects gameplay and worldbuilding.
I’m of the same mind. There are two ways we are potentially breaking the fourth way within the game, and both should be subject to player’s choice:
1 - You choose to believe Thaumaturge’s rant.
If you do that, you are opting in for a wild ride. It’s more tragic than funny, and it’s inspired by things like Grant Morrisson’s acclaimed run in the Animal Man comic book.
It means the MC is suffering from something resembling depersonalization-derealization disorder, and it is integrated into the plot, but not played out as a hard fact. There are multiple possible explanations given throughout the game, and even more questions.
What made Thaumaturge come to that conclusion? Does he have a point, or is it just a consequence of his drug experiences in college paired with his ego and hyperintellect?
Who benefits from him and the MC believing the world isn’t real? Is it just a coping mechanism? A way for them not to feel bad about committing mass murder because “nothing is real”?
Are they really two-dimensional characters living in a fictional world, or is there some powerful metahuman with reality-warping powers pulling the strings?
These, to me, are more interesting than “lmao the author is breaking the fourth wall”. But either way, only players who actively choose that path will experience it.
2 - Your character has brooding <= 0
This one is, indeed, played for laughs. It’s inspired by comic books like She-Hulk and Deadpool and represents one end of the brooding-quipping spectrum, only achievable if the player goes for full flippant gameplay.
We’re probably going to let the player turn this off in the menu. We do think this can be funny, but we don’t want to alienate people who might not like that kind of humor or feel like it breaks their immersion.
We are working on it as a stand-alone, but if it gets popular after the release we might eventually consider a sequel. We do like the Unsuperverse we are building, and think it has the potential for lots of stories–not necessarily in the same medium.
I’m glad you enjoyed the game so far!
I wholeheartedly concur. Although I would hope at least some of them would be in the same medium.
@MahatmaDagon i would rather a full amazing ending to this story then a sequel but a another story with other characters in the same universe would be something I’m all for maybe some cameos
Just curious because i love this story
I wonder how strong MC is🤔 why everyone always count on them?
It mostly depends on the mc power set that u picked and we are yet to see impressive feats. Getting owned in town was the wake up call to encourage everyone to get better since all the mc has done is deal with low class goons.
As for decisions it’s probably because the mc is the one person that everyone in the team respects that they won’t argue with most of time. Our mentor has trained us to be the leader of the group when they go missing or killed one day. Besides there are moments where the crew make their own choices.
They’ll update the story when they have enough new material ready to go.
Asking questions like this is against the rules around here, because most authors are under enough pressure already. There are literally hundreds of fans looking forward to either the next update or the final release of the game. If they had to spend all their time asking questions from fans about when the next update will be, they wouldn’t have time to write!
Most authors don’t work on a precise schedule, and few are able to work on their games full-time. Chances are they don’t know themselves when the next update will be ready, just as they don’t know when the final publication date will be. Please be patient - and please do continue to express your enthusiasm for works in development. Something like “I love this story, I can’t wait to see what happens next!” makes it clear you’re eager for more without it coming across as a demand.
So I’m the only one who’s worried about the fact that we left Rattlebag alone in prison with no one to watch over him?
If he gets out, with the stuff he knows, we’re all fucked.

Excellent, I can completely get behind that. My suggestion is the following. It doesn’t have to be an overly complicated cheat menu. You could for example, just allow us to boost our experience so we can max out our own class. This would be especially helpful for those using elemental powers. Cash wouldn’t hurt either.
So who is RO?
