We are mostly L-level, borderline K-level when fighting Thaumaturge I guess
@MahatmaDagon if I may ask, what happened to ghost simulator? It was so close to being finished.
Could the MC go like superman in injustice ? For people who don’t know I mean become a “benevolent” Tyrant of Earth but that kill the most dangerous criminel ( like the Thaumaturge ) and ensure world peace with the Help of super hero that agree with him
Yes! And metahuman powers can be wildly different even if they belong to the same “category.” For example, Rattlebag’s ability (L+ power mimicry) can be compared to Alloy’s (L+ metal mimicry) in some aspects. There’s also Candy Crusher, who (after taking the superdrug) gets an L-level superstrength through glucose intake. Lightweaver and Telltale are both Illusionists, but their illusions work differently. And so on.
BTW, since you asked about Rattlebag’s origins…
We needed a villain for the catacombs segment, and the main inspiration for Rattlebag was Neil Gaiman’s horror short story “Click-Clack the Rattlebag.” I had read it a while ago and recalled it for some reason. A supervillain whose bag of bones would be heard throughout the catacombs–it sounded like cool stuff.
It is a pleasure to meet you too!
Telltale appears in some scenes that are not yet written, yes.
The ghost is not dead! I’m wrapping some things up and then I’ll update its topic, but it will be released this year. Unsupervised has been our main project for the past two years, so Ghost Simulator (and, I fear, Wake of the Wyrm) had to wait a little longer.
I love anything and everything superhero related so this definitely has my attention also I will buy it when it comes out!
It is.
Is this the part where you tell the others you don’t want to reveal Shimmer’s secret identity and then they ask how you even know who they are–and the narration (if you have enough Awareness) suggests they are being jelly?
If so, it’s more of a friend thing. Kinda. Unless…
Thank you, we’ll get that and the typo you mentioned fixed.
We are doing some reworks on that bit, and we’ll add different ways to get the info from him.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s been great getting the feedback for the demo here in the forums, and whenever a comic book fan says they liked the game so far it feels like we are on the right track.
Yes. It’s important to me that you have the opportunity to get revenge on anyone who wrongs your character if you seek to go down that road. It might not be easy to reach, but it will be there. For everyone.
1 - Eisners, or E-levels, are individuals with abilities that, while certainly impressive, are still within the realm of human capability.
2 - Lees, or L-levels, are individuals with abilities that defy common sense but are still bound to some inherent logic and can be understood—and reproduced—by science.
Enhanced Physique (of the level the MC has) falls into this category by default, but it doesn’t mean it stays there.
3 - Kirbies, or K-levels, are individuals with abilities that should not exist, but somehow do. They defy the very laws of physics and our understanding of reality. Their inner workings are yet to be understood by contemporary science, and their destructive power can sometimes work on a global—or even cosmic—scale. Kirbies, to the despair of law-enforcement agencies worldwide, have become more and more prominent over the last decade.
Time Manipulation is a textbook example of this. Elemental Mastery, too, though I think it ranks lower because it is easier to make sense of. The ELK scale is not just about how powerful you are, but how difficult to understand your abilities are. Which makes them all the more dangerous, because it’s easier to fight something you can wrap your head around.
If you want an idea of what the player can do at the apex of their power, just check the brief segment that appears at the beginning of the game, where you first select your powers.
Yes!
Oh boy, I just listened to that short story while drinking some Coke.
It was, yes.
Not sure if I count as a comic book fan (I’m totally a comic book fan but I don’t know if I’m fan enough) but I also like the game so far.
Also the “ELK scale” is golden.
Random question, do any of the cape options come with a hood, or is it a headcanon territory?
There’s a cowl as a secondary headgear, but we could add a hooded cape too.
Now that must have been creepy
Can we have the color pink in the color roster too
@SailorNyoom if not you can just head cannon that’s what I do pick whatever is close and if nothing is close I just pick a random option and imagine it is what I want it to be
After taking the drug with the super sence MC I must ask, could it be possible to bring super vilain to the "good side " and help the hero ?
Also could the MC with time manipulation power could at some point in the story travel through time ( with the possibility of killing a very bad person while they are a child witch is a very interesting dilemn in my opinon )
Wouldn’t that cause problems with the flow of spacetime since u killed someone who was supposed to be evil when they grew up. Unless all that happens is that an alternate timeline is made. But realistically the MC cant do that cos time power doesn’t work like that.
Let’s just see where the rest of the story takes us. Also, why would you kill a villain as a child if you can just kill him right now? all it would do is turn you into a child killer which I guess wouldn’t sit well with cog rules anyway.
I think the point of @Webtoonien was for travel back in time and kill them before they do something evil
@G98 but you could just go back to anytime before they did bad stuff why when they’re a child
