United We Stand - Political WIP

can the protagonist become a cabinet minister?

Yes, later on.

Anyway, without further ado, chapter 2 from the New Order perspective is complete, feel free to give it a go. Also, and very excitingly, I’ve redone the guide screen so it makes a bit more sense and also added a new section. Enjoy!

If I remember correctly, it’s where you meet him before you begin the mission that leads to the end of the demo

Here: “Her stance on the street fighting currently going on.”

About the update, I really liked how the New Order is growing. Making alliances with the National Bloc to stop the Iron Guard and the Red Front of growing, taking the turfs of the Red Front and recruiting several members for the cause.
I really want to see what will happen next.

Thanks a lot, found it and corrected, as well as some other minor typos and formatting issues.
Thanks for the feedback @Urban, glad you’re enjoy the direction!

I enjoy the ambush assassination scene. Nice little update - I see a potential continuity issue but I can’t tell if it plays out yet or not - I’ll need to see what happens after the above scene happens.

@AlexClifford1994 if you accept Lady Lydia proposal, how will she remember it if there is no variable?

This is the crux of the issue.

Well I enjoyed the reverse, the Red Front taking over those New Order bars and (reluctantly) allying with the Iron Guard. :stuck_out_tongue:

So you’ve joined the evil side too, eh @Eiwynn? :disappointed:

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you know that there is no variable? I thought there was no way to see the code of WIP games.

There is a way to see the code of every game, be then WIP or not.

@idonotlikeusernames I knew you were a commie all along! :stuck_out_tongue:

If @AlexClifford1994 wouldn’t mind, I would be an happy man to know that process and to see this fantastic game’s code.

Seeing other people’s codes is an excellent way to learn. And reading the code is something like “reading art”, if that makes any sense.

_He is obviously a good guy, ergo he could only be a fellow commie comrade

Long live the Moravian reds! :imp:_

According to some not just a commie but a pinko commie. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As for becoming a minister how advantageous that is will depend on if Solidarity is the junior or senior partner in a left-wing coalition. If junior then it might make more sense to remain in parliament for the mc to retain much more operational freedom, it might even be more advantageous for the party as a whole to just offer confidence and supply, as New Order is doing with the Conservatives right now, sadly given the history between the Social Fascists Democrats and Solidarity I don’t think they’re going to let us get away with that, so it will probably be a coalition (in which we just have to hope Solidarity becomes the senior partner) or nothing.

Then there is the fact that my own mc’s working class background and likely poor education might not make him all that suitable to be a minister in the first place, particularly since he is highly likely to distrust any career “civil servants” assigned to “counsel” him. :unamused:
There is after all a reason why my working-class mc is striving for abolition of the monarchy and angling for the job of ceremonial president because that would be a position where oratory skills and sheer passion can cover up any educational defects to a much greater extent.

Implying communism isn’t evil.

Somehow radical nationalism feel a lot worst than equalitarian internationalism but hey I’m just a victim of an abusive conservative environements so what do I know about politic right?

Btw Alex, as alway I’m excited for the next part. I cant wait to meet the new RO and kick some more nazi butt. I wonder how our approach will shape the future political landscape. I can easily see assasinating the enemies ending up in an open and bloody civil war.

Compared to fascism it is arguably the lesser evil.
The 30’s were of course not a good time overall to be a gay man, but it was only the fascists and “national socialists” who wanted desperately to bury their gay scene six feet under ground as a matter of doctrinaire ideology.
