Ultimata (Fantasy WIP)

I know a great way to answer that question. Sit down, it’s lore time again.

During his long journey Feng, the Elder Dragon of Fire, fought many great battles against mighty opponents and legendary heroes. Though one particular battle managed to carve itself deeply into the mind of the passionated warrior. His battle against the great Monkey King himself.
In the 7th century Feng’s journey led him to China, with the hope of finding a worthy Opponent within the ranks of the growing Tang Dynasty. One day he encountered a group of travellers, led by a strong Soulmancer. Besides the leader the entire consisted entirely of promising supernaturals, though one particular member caught his eye. A young man with the features of Monkey carrying a magical staff. He could feel the incredible powers and strength the young Supernatural possessed by simply looking at him and he knew that he had to fight him. However, before he could translate his desire into action he was addressed by the leader who introduced herself as Xuanzang, a monk who was on the mission to obtain the “Sutras”, the sacred texts of the Buddhists. He also introduced to Feng his other companions. A battle-hardened celestial named Sha Wujing, a lazy Mo (a creature from the chinese mythology) named Zhu Bajie and lastly the one who caught Feng’s attention, a Mihou named Sun Wukong. After the introductions were done Xuanzang almost immediately asked Feng if he would like to join her group on their journey. She could sense the incredible power and experience residing within Feng and since the journey would be anything but easy she would be more than grateful to have such a powerful companion on her side. Feng however rejected the offer, stating that the only thing he wanted from the group was to fight Sun Wukong in a duel. This exclamation however caused the Mihou to make an offer of his own. He said he would accept the duel against the Dragon under the condition that if he would win Feng had to join their group. Enjoying the prospect of a possible challenge Feng accepted the deal almost immediately. However, what followed thereafter was something that Feng hadn’t experienced since the great war. A true battle.
Sun Wukong turned out to be a much more challenging foe than Feng had originally anticipated. Right on from the start the battle was evenly matched and remained so for its full duration. While Wukong may not have on the exact same level as Feng he had other talents that evened this difference out. What he lacked in combat expertise and natural powers he recouped with craftiness and cunning. For the first time since the war Feng had finally a opponent before him who made his warrior heart beat faster. Someone who could offer him a real battle. One in which he could finally go all out again.
The battle between these two raged on for over two days and leveled the entire area they fought in. During this whole battle neither of the two warrior managed to gain any ground over his opponent. Instead their battle continued on and on with neither side showing any signs of exhaustion, even after days of combat. However, on the third day both Warriors stopped their battle. The two tried everything they had. Feng tried every move, style and every techniqe he mastered during his long journey while Wukong had used every single trick and deception he had uo his sleeve. They knew that they couldn’t beat the other, so they decided on a draw. After the battle Wukong praised the shown skill of the Elder Dragon and exclaimed that this particular duel was the most fun he had in a long time. Feng could only agree with the exclamtions of the Mihou and even acknowledged him as a true warrior who managed to earn his full respect.
In the end however as the group were about to give their Farewell something unexpected happened that not even Sun Wukong could have expected. Feng decided to accept the original offer made by Xuanzang, saying that would gladly stop his own journey if it meant he could travel along a true warrior like Sun Wukong. So Feng joined the small group on their journey to the west which lasted for over a decade. During the whole journey he managed to build a strong bond to his companions, especially to Wukong with whom he managed to build an almost unbreakable friendship that last till this very day.

I hope I could answer your question with this bit of lore. Also, I hope you enjoyed it.

Heh, guess I have good news then. There already are a few gothic victorian style clothes on my list, including things like lightly modernized suits and dresses. There are also a few gothic lolita style options for the female MC.

Also already on my list.

Yes, you will get such options while choosing the clothing for your character. Basically, after choosing your favourite clothes you will also get the option to choose from a certain selection of accessories like hats, gloves, sunglasses, jewelry or collars/chokers. Though, it is important to note that certain accessory options won’t be available for all races (due to the supernatural features of some of them) and some outfits (since certain accessories simply wouldn’t fit with the style of some of the available outfits). Don’t worry though, the number of affected accessories is actually a very small one.

I’m glad you enjoyed this little story. It took a little to get this bit together, but I don’t mind the extra work if it means I can share a bit about my world with you. Also if you found the bit of lore entertaining and enjoyed it that’s for me personally the greatest reward I could get. So, thank you.

Kitsune with miko outfit should probably seal the deal

Thank you so much for the story I am glad to see that there appears to be at least one person who can be a match to a elder dragon.

Will there be any changes in the seasons in the story that would have the mc change clothes?

Well, against Feng at least. If Wukong would have fought against Darius or Lyra things might have probably taken a different turn.

Also, besides Wukong there were also other mythical creatures and heroes who managed to be an actual challenge for some of the Eight.

Yes. As the whole story progresses there will be a few changes of seasons as well, which will give your character the option to choose more matching clothing and outfits for the specific season.

@BrachydiosX Here are some badass pics of zombie man from one punch man to get a better inspiration on how on Christina Kawakami fight in battles and might look after she eventually wins. Since she is my romance option

Thank you for the suggestions, though I already have a concept for Chris’s fighting behaviour.

Chris’s fighting style will be strongly center around fast and agile movements paired with the use of two types of combat weapons (a Kama and several Kunai) and several unique gadgets (like smoke bombs or a grapling hook). She will also make extensive use of the various martial arts she learned during her childhood.
So with all these Points combined you could say that Chris is basically a Zombie Ninja.

This is probably a dumb question, but what is a Kama ?
And can you shed some light on what the other members’ weapons are or will we find out during the story ?

A Kama is a Japanese weapon that is basically a mini scythe or a sickle if you will.

Hope that helps

Ah thanks for clearing that up

Lena: She relies mainly on her tail for combat, though she also carries a Glock 19 loaded with quicksilver bullets

Mia: Since Mia is not a big fan of violence she concentrades mainly on her duty as the teams medic and to support her friends in combat from the side lines. Though in case things get dangerous for her she carries a arc-tech stun gun with her that is strong enough to knock-out most supernaturals or at least stun them

Alex: He relies entirely on his Soul Weapon and (thanks to his soulmanipulative powers) has no need for additional weapons.

@BrachydiosX how detailed will combat and choices be?. For example if the player is a gunslinger will we be able to choose different trick shots and using the environment based on skills (The player has enough perception to see that the floorboard is loose allowing them to step on it and send the enemy stumbling before using their marksmanship skill to fire a bullet which ricochets and hit them in a blind spot for a kill or wound shot) or will it be a simple you shoot the dragon god and he dies super fast becomes your gun skill is 100.

Will we need to worry about beings like the titans from Greek mythology? More specifically Typhon

And I am also curious which of the 8 dragons had the fun job taking down the Hinduism gods? Cause that would have been probably harder then almost any other gods other then maybe the Aztec gods.

Combat will heavily focus on the skills and abilities your character possesses, mainly the natural powers and abilities of your choosen race. However, there will also be a certain focus on things like Magic or possible skills you acquired as an D.S.R. Agent. All these skills, talents and abilities can be found in a detailed profile in the stats screen, so you can always take a look at them.

Now to combat itself. In combat situations you will be given a number of options that will be specially tailored for the powers of your choosen race (and which will only be available for this race) along a number of options that orient themself on your other skills. Based on your proficiency in the specific area will also give you more possibilities for combat. Basically, the more you train and hone your skills and abilities the more options you will get in combat situations. Though, it is important to note that not all the available options will have the same outcome. In combat you will have to think and adapt to the situation and your opponent to be able to pick the options that will most likely have the best outcomes.

Nah, the Titans aren’t that bad anymore nor are they interested in taking over the world. Well, at least not since the Dragon’s took over. They know that if they try to pull any of their old schemes they will probably get curbstomed into oblivion by Darius, Lyra and Co. . Also, they are actually on good Terms with the Dragon’s. You see, the Titans were the very first higher supernaturals who sided with the Dragon’s after they discovered their intentions of ridding the world from the other gods and deities. Especially the prospect of them destroying Olympus (what actually happened thanks to Feng), was enough for the Titans to join the eight in their war.

Aurelia and Mana were the ones who had the joy to deal with the Hindu Deities. Though, the Twins are extremly powerful if they fight together and are basically unstoppable, so they actually hadn’t that much of a trouble to deal with the deities.

If I may pose a question, do the different supernatural races have unique forms of government or do the species have a more nationalistic approach?

Umm, I’m sorry but I can’t fully understand what you are trying ask. Could you maybe try to rephrase your question a little?
