The pictures kinda put me off my “in” state. T^T) I just wish there had been an option that would have allowed us to read without the pictures.
Announcement:
After leaving my Trial of the Demon Hunter trilogy on hiatus for a long time while deciding what I wanted to do with the series, I have finally resumed work on it. Since I’m pretty much done writing Meteoric and will submit it in June, I’m switching my focus to updating and completing Trial of the Demon Hunter, Captive of Fortune, and Foundation of Nightmares. This will include:
- adding a non-binary gender option
- adding another RO, a gender-selectable demon hunter partner
- bug fixing any bugs I haven’t fixed and restructuring the code to my improved and current style
- writing new endings to each installment, with Foundation of Nightmares’ endings capping off the series
That being said, I’ve already begun working on Trial of the Demon Hunter’s update. My plan is to post regular updates, chapter by chapter of the trilogy this year. A lot will be the same, a lot will be different, but I’m hoping it will be much improved. Most of all, I hope the updates will leave my many fans of this series who I have left hanging for so long, satisfied with the journey they have taken their demon hunter on all these years.
I started writing Trial of the Demon Hunter when I was 17. I’m pushing 30, so I’m having a lot of nostalgia going back to this series, and it will be very gratifying to finish it.
Update:
Chapter One of the Trial of the Demon Hunter update is up. It’s 7k words. The main differences from this chapter and the original are:
- added non-binary gender option
- a new character, your partner demon hunter
- more tidy code
- slightly tightened up prose and narrative
This will still be pretty rough around the edges compared to my newer works, but I wrote this over a decade ago as a teen, so I’m pretty much just looking for typos and bug fixes. However, please feel free to tell me what you did or didn’t like, even though I will likely not make major changes based off that feedback. I hope you enjoy!
In the new demo, whatever I decide to do with the goblin is the opposite of what happens, lile of I chose the chose the option of handling Emira to the guards for a trial it actually ends up with Emira being sold to a farmer for profit, whilst if I choose the other two options ot actually leads to handing Emira for trial, seems strange
@devil Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like I mixed up some variables but I believe the bug is fixed now
