There’s also the theory that Rebecca learned about MC’s mutation because the Nanny tried to use their pheromones on them and it didn’t work…
… actually, saying that, would that mean the Nanny was a vampire? Before running the tests Rebecca only knew that the MC was immune to vampire pheromones not all pheromones/pheromone-like abilities
Honestly I was about to edit my last comment to change from supernatural to vampire haha but that’s a solid theory. Would explain how UB and Rebecca knew that fake Murphy would go after the MC.
A couple of days late but umm I have to mention that I’m a little worried now… @rinari hasn’t spoken at all after saying
And she was going to play the love triangle route…now I don’t want to assume that we should prepare with blankets and cookies but… we should prepare with blankets and cookies:cookie:just in case
The thing is, we don’t know what Sera means by the ‘the way her kid has reacted to supernaturals they’ve met without realising’, we can assume that it has something to do with the pheromones, but to be perfectly honest, I get the feeling that using your pheromones to calm your boss’s kid down is looked down upon, and possibly not something the nanny would mention.
Nanny: [gasping for air] They…they just won’t stop crying!!! I just don’t understand, It should have worked!
Rebecca: What should have worked?
Nanny: My phe—amous…silly…faces??
Rebecca: [squints]
So it’s entirely within reason to assume that Sera means that the MC didn’t instinctively act, say, enamored by a vampire, or giggly around a fairy, or terrified around a demon as normal humans would, and to have done so consistently enough that that is what Rebecca has picked up on.
And therefore, the theory (hunch really) that the nanny’s magical influence failed on the MC as a kid and they told Rebecca about it hasn’t technically been proven correct.
Imagine then Rebecca brushing it off because there is loads of people in the world who love the smell of babies.
I also like the idea of Rebecca noticing there is something odd because she knows all the civilian supernaturals living on Wayhaven with a common job and all the “little tricks” they use to keep everything in order at their work place.
Ooooh, maaan, I can’t wait for the next book!!! Heck, I can’t wait for the rest of the series! lol I am sooo geeking out right now.
Wow - just went on that “Most Anticipated WIPs” forum and I’m seeing quite a bit of “Wayhaven Chronicles: Book Two” listed. @Seraphinite makin’ headlines! lol
At the very least, A and N have been around for centuries, if not longer. They’ve seen empires rise and fall, the best and worst that humanity has to offer, and surely has plenty of stories to tell. For anyone to impress them that much would probably be surprising to many MCs (and for those leaning more towards a pessimistic outlook, there’s sure to be some self-doubt). And plenty of pressure not to screw this up.
oh man i didnt know this topic existed or how much i needed it. none of my friends are into the whole choice of games thing so i have no one to spew my feelings about twc at and i really need to. im a little behind on the book 2 train but just wait til i finish replaying everything a million times because im about to go IN
