The Wayhaven Chronicles General Discussion (SPOILER FREE FOR BOOK THREE!)

[emerging sleepily from a bog, cupping my hands around my mouth] O SERA, GODDESS OF PICK-ME-UPS, HOW DIVINE THOU ART!

We will always be here when you need moral support, advice, a call to action or a distraction.

I know right? The image of M crying for MC leaving them is something I wasn’t ready for.

The MC is never allowed to dump M then. It’s now illegal.

Amen.

This conversation makes me remember how freaking, horribly I look forward to the moment that we are at that certain deep, utterly deep stage in the romance with M.
What kind of nuances will be there? How will M be different? I mean, they are not the kind of person to give innocent caresses (at least not at first), but will they be able to do so if the mc makes clear they like that?
And what about the differences towards a shy and bold mc…?!
Dear lord, I am driving myself crazy thinking about all the possibilities. Send help…! PLEASE…

Shy MC - Tease them until they are about to cry from embarrassment
Bold MC - More sexy times than humanly possible

Though, about innocent caresses, i think they are more likely to caress MC with their eyes (like drink MC in) than to physically do it, but that’d just my opinion so ‾_(惄)_/‾

So nobody here interested in plot instead of romance?

Well… Honestly… The plot of the game is mostly revolving about the romances (since it is literally an interactive novel series that concentrates on romance), so I do think that most of us are indeed focussed on those romances.
But being focussed on that does not have to exclude the other. I personally am of the opinion that Sera has this amazing ability to make it all intertwine seamlessly. For me, there is no romance without plot and vice versa.

However, there was another user on the forum who was no fan of the romances and preferred to play without courting any of the vampires. So you are not alone, I suppose?

Oh, that M certainly does. But I am just stuck wondering if there will be more; if there will be a possibility for a different kind of ā€˜showing what you mean to me’ gesture and/or look… And I am happy to wait for as long as we have to, to get our answers!

I’m beginning to think your thinking of me with a different avatar picture lol

Indeed, you are right. You are one and the same. Well, that is embarrassing. I generally just look at the avatars… You had a black and green one, with a chibi in a dark tunic and with a lantern (in its hand?) or something…

That is the one!

But perhaps we should stop now because we are derailing the conversation a bit… (ą¹‘ź’Ŗā˜ź’Ŗą¹‘) (๑→‿←๑)

I’ll just wait here in my coffin. Wake me when someone wants to talk about actual plot. ** ::sets alarm clock for two hundred years from now:: **

Most of my protags have the main goal that is not romance, at least by the end of book 1. It’s instead either learning more about the whole supernatural thing and/or find a way to cope with this new revelation.

Romance (more like occasional flirting and getting to know) is still there, but it’s not the driving force. I’d like to see it organically flow and grow into a relationship, not just puff out of thin air all of a sudden. Feels more natural this way.

PS long time no see, everyone. Hope you all been well

I promise to look out for any others, have a good, long rest; but please, do not change your avatar in the meantime…

Foolish joking aside, the fact that most of us are focussed on the romances does not mean that we cannot discuss the plot, right? c:
Par example, there have been numerous occasions that a discussion about the Echo World ensued.
What non-romance-included-plot-stuff is it exactly that you would like to talk about? Or do you not have any specific non-romance-included-plot-stuff in mind?

To be fair it’s kinda hard to talk about the plot when Book 1’s plot was tied up pretty well. Murphy is jailed or just gone and we can speculate on the overarching plot (like why is A, N, and Rebecca so certain the blood thing can’t be kept under wraps?) but we don’t have a lot to go on yet.

Romances are left open ended so there’s a lot to speculate on there. And, like, this is a romance game, I don’t see why talking about romances is a bad thing.

I would say that the reason we speak so much about the romances instead of the plot, is because we have more information about the RO’s than the plot itself.

Every time there is an ask on Sera’s tumblr related to the plot, we get a non answer because of the spoilers. Because of this, is much easier to speculate about the romances. When book 1 was out, we were talking plenty about the plot, about what would happen next books, etc etc, but now, we simply don’t have more information.

And I am sure that when we get the updated demo, we will be talking about the plot (and the romances, since this is a game where the romance is the main part) more than we are now.

So, uh… pardon me guys, but has Sera confirmed that fair folk in the Wayhaven world are generally trustworthy?

I was replaying Book One today, and I thought of something that I don’t know how to feel about. Multiple cultures and myths depict fairies as quite evil. They tended to be petty, deceitful, killed babies, kidnapped humans and sold their souls to the Devil and whatnot. Elidor, the nurse who treats us after the Murphy battle is a fae, and though he doesn’t really give off an evil vibe, could he possibly be the mole in the agency? I would assume he has access to DMB (for emergency situations such as treating an aggressive supernatural prisoner), and it couldn’t have been hard for him to sell it to Murphy if he wanted to. Especially if he’s been a part of the agency for a while, and is generally trusted… he could also have access to important information.

While this would be an interesting plot, I refuse to even consider it, Elidor is good :frowning:

Now that you have sown the doubt… Please no, Elidor, baby, you are a good guy.

Trust me, I don’t want to believe my own theory either, lol. I just randomly thought of it after so many playthroughs, maybe because this time I actually paid attention to Elidor. Now, I desperately want Sera to come out and say he is innocent, because until she does, Elidor is going to be a suspect in my mind.
