Thank youuuu !
It’s asks like this that remind me why I love Mason so much. Felix is moving on up there, too:
As for A–ptthppt on you, staying neutral. And I’m not the least bit surprised that N would have to be pushed into choosing a side after doing their best to resolve it.
Personally, I understand why A stay out of it. It’s an argument between two parties which should be resolved between those two parties. The most of the outside the argument can do give out their advice if the MC ask for it, otherwise, I just don’t see how argument will resolved an outsider taking sides.
You were expecting A to, what, defy authority? Lol. They’re an attack dog, that leash (and not a fun one) is rock-solid.
I’m just hoping, at some point, the MC gets to be A’s leash holder. Otherwise, it’ll be a constant battle of duty vs. “love” unless the MC bows down to everything Rebecca or the Agency wants.
Or, maybe, you know, A could grow a spine and follow their own conscience, for a change? Maybe grow enough to be able to recognize when the Agency’s rules make no sense? Nah, that’ll never happen.
It’s not about resolving the argument. It’s about knowing that your LI has your back and will support you.
Remember me saying that my issue with A and M’s romances is that it’s them against each other (or themselves) instead of them against their problems? Well, it appears M has the romanced MC’s back right now, which should be unsurprising, given how loyal they are. Now if they can just stop shitting all over the MC, everything will be gold.
But the ask is about an disagreement between the MC and their mother, who is close to them. This doesn’t conclude that A will stay neutral on other topics too nor A will not support the MC during times like this. Staying neutral doesn’t mean they don’t offer advice to the MC or being there for them.
That’s how I interpreted Mishka’s reply anyway. But I know we are way different in our view about A so this will probably my last reply on this topic though.
Maybr I’m missing what’s really going on, but Is Rebecca subtly warning A not to pursue anything with the detective at the end of book 2 or is she worried for some other reason?
And here’s hoping book 3 doesn’t as abruptly as book 2 did. We either save or lose Sanja, then it basically skips to end.
I don’t think she was warning A to stay away. Sera has said that Rebecca has opinions, but won’t get in the way of her kid being with whomever she wants. Honestly, I’m not sure what the “do I have to worry?” question was about. I really figured, if she worried about anyone breaking her kid’s heart, she’d worry about M “screw 'em and leave 'em” doing it. So it has to be something else triggering the question to A. On another note, with N, I think she may be worried he’ll go nuts and eat the MC. I hope.
It wasn’t that abrupt. We got the chapter with the carnival again, with whatever LI your MC is romancing. And progress was made with N (if your MC wanted it) and with A (well, you got a half-assed handhold if your MC forced the issue, but it was more than we got from A before).
I want something like that to happen so badly! Sera seems to be against the idea and have said that UB are fully in control, but who knows, maybe she just doesn’t want to spoil it. There’s always hope!
Are you on her Patreon? if so, search for an old scene she shared that she had written when Wayhaven was going to be a series of novels, instead of a game. It’s a scene where Mason saves the MC’s butt and the rest of UB is… well, you’d have to read it.
I thought maybe she had shared it on Tumblr, but haven’t found it in a quick search. If I can find it, I’ll share the link.
Edit: Nope, it’s not on Tumblr, only on Patreon. Found the scene on Patreon then text-searched Tumblr to make sure.
Oh it was kinda rushed. All in the span of like a chapter, we nearly get roofied, we sort things with Falk and the next thing we know, we’re at the carnival. And maybe its just me, but i remember book 1 felt longer than 2 when i played them both for the first time.
That’s A’s charm, though. M just wants to jump our bones and get it on, F is too much like a little sister and N is way too nice. And then we have a 900 year old ice queen who has been single for almost a millennia suddenly falling head over heels.
It would be a bit out character for A to suddenly tear off their clothes and ravish the detective lol
if only…
The desk of the mc has more chances to get smacked in a kinky way by A then the MC getting a smooche
So quick question was the secret Rebecca doesnt tell us in the first book about our dad or something she litterally cant talk to us about because its classified?
No, I’m broke
Thanks for trying to find it though!
So this scene is related to the possibility of N going nuts, I presume. I mean, if it would be so impossible to happen, why would Rebecca said all that. There were other suspicious moments as well, like when N said that MC’s smell is intoxicating, and Rebecca frowned at them. When the MC just discovered that UB are vampires, MC could flinch away in fear from N; in book three demo there’s a moment during the fight with the trappers where the MC is feeling frightened of N in all their vampiric glory That buildup to N possibly hurting the MC is too delicious to never happen.
N’s dark side/spooky ability is probably my most anticipated revelation in the series, along with what happened to M. Can’t wait for all these secrets to finally be revealed one day!
From what we have seen so far, the reason she doesn’t talk about the dad is because it didn’t occur to her. And talking about it is too painful for her…
@TwinDragon_1220 To build on what @EvilChani said, Rebecca doesn’t actually know how MC’s dad died - it’s part of the conversation you can have with her when she gives you your… taser-thingy.
I’ve had such bad experiences with yanderes, I’m hoping it doesn’t go down that path. It does look like a possibility, though.
Honestly, I don’t see Sera going there. If N did start to lose it, at worst I think she’d have them distance from the MC (which I think will happen anyway, with all of them in b5–except, maybe, F).
N’s path is too syrupy to get much angst, and I think most of that will come from N’s fear of hurting the MC or the MC getting hurt.
I think N might loose control, like, once. And the loss of control won’t cause any serious and/or long lasting consequences. It’ll just spook him, and the MC depending on our choices.
(I can totally see A holding N back, or grabbing their shoulder, and helping them get under control. Then quickly checking on the MC before heading back to comfort N)
