Agreed, but a good lie from the Agency might cover it. The detective will just have to be careful moving forward.
Verda is the only one I can see possibly finding out…barring some unforeseen surprise occurring. But I still don’t want him knowing.

That’s a very valid point. Who knows how Verda would react to the news that supernatural creatures does exist.
While what everyone else is saying is fair and correct, I would like to point out that in some places (Ohio, Louisiana, Maryland, Kansas, and Connecticut are all mentioned specifically on Wikipedia), exceptions exist under specific circumstances, and in some individual towns, counties, or areas, the police are … less than vigorous about enforcement. Additionally, with Douglas being the mayor’s son and statements like “nobody makes the mayor angry” in the game, it’s also possible he’d just be given a pass.
It is legal in some states.
This. The US is very spread out as compared to, say, Europe. It’s a huge land mass, and while there are a lot of people, there are also huge tracts of land with nobody living on them. I’ve been on drives where I’ve gone literal hours without seeing so much as a building on a major highway because there’s just nothing in the area. It’s not as bad as say… crossing the middle of Australia, but it’s pretty spread out in the US.
God, how are the good law-abiding teens supposed to learn to drink responsibly if they don’t even have a way to find out how booze affects them in the safety of their own house under family supervision before going out at the fine age of 21 and getting wasted for the 1st time? And quite probably making total asses of themselves as a result? ![]()
I have a suspicion he’ll be as cool as a cucumber about it. Although an unexpected reaction in-character would be okay with me too.
This is the one thing that appeals to me about the USA. I love road trips, and in a country like USA would be so cool, with all the differences in the terrain.
From which part of the states are you, guys? Me and my husband are planning on going to Montana in two years, hopefully somewhere isolated. But it would be nice to have the insight of people from the country, you people are the only north americans I know ![]()
It’s not legal, but it’s honestly not that weird for someone under 21 to get access to alcohol. I’d go so far as to say that, anecdotally speaking, I know far more people who drank before 21 than who didn’t. I was, by all standards, a pretty good kid, pretty much never got in trouble for anything, kept my grades up, the whole nine yards, and I think I was 16 the first time I got drunk. A bar, maybe not so much, but drinking in general before 21? Not weird.
All of Montana is isolated. I’m from Minnesota originally, but I’ve been to Colorado, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and through several other states, so I’ve seen … maybe not most of the US, but a pretty good sized chunk of it. There is a ton of different terrain, which is pretty fantastic, and the culture varies wildly from place to place, too, which can be pretty jarring for people. Even things like what is or is not considered polite or what word is used to describe certain objects (tissues, pop, etc.) can vary from place to place.
I wonder if Agency possesses some memory eraser device. Because, at least vamp team, truly shows no consideration for safety. Remember the scene at the house when we tell the bad news? They straight up use their powers on grieving mother, even though a human they’re supposed to keep in the dark is 5 feet away.
I know. I was so upset with my MC, I was, yo girl! Are you stupid or something? Wtf? Don’t you really see that is totally not normal?! Christ, just thinking about it is annoying me again
Illinois. No, not from that shithole called Chicago. More like in the middle of nowhere rural Illinois where all you can see is crops and farmers.
They’re bad at secrets. Probably doesn’t help that F isn’t trying very hard. (Teasing N about the car, literally says “A doesn’t work well with humans” referring to other people like 5 minutes after Rebecca leaves.)
I’m from Indiana originally and I’m living in Ohio now. If you’re looking for road trips then, yeah, US is pretty good for that. I’ve done a few with my family over to Washington and down to Florida and its really cool to see things go from the flat farmlands I’m used to to beaches and mountains and dense forests.
Wow a lot of Mid-Westerners here!
Speaking of road trips, I might be doing one this summer with my older sister and her family that I haven’t seen in years. Can’t wait for it.
Pretty sure we might be going to Indiana for NASCAR sometime in September and who knows where we’re going next. We haven’t planned it all out yet.
The only reason to come to Indiana is for NASCAR, honestly… Unless you really REALLY like corn. Which I do… because I’m from Indiana… but its sooo good when its FRESH
Ok, this is my last off topic comment.
You are making me so jealous with all the amazing places you have been in
. The country side in the UK is gorgeous, and in Spain is amazing too, but damn, I wish I had the money to afford going to all the states and visit all the awesome places in there.
The thing is, in the UK, all the natural parks I have been in, they lack that “wild” feeling to it. Unless you go to Scotland, then you can go pretty wild and go to some of the lost loch that don’t even appear in the maps, which is amazing. But bloody hell, US is so fucking big, you have to be rich to go around the country plus the plane tickets from Europe.
I just want to visit all the places that are pretty much untouched by humans :(((((
Corn is good but I do have some family living there. Well my family is pretty spread out across the country like for example, I have a cousin living in Florida while another cousin is living up in the woods at Maine.
Don’t forget our bipolar weather and potholes
Hello and welcome to Wayhaven Discussion topic! Where we talk about NASCAR, unicorns, alcohol restrictions, best parts of the real world to visit and sometimes about wayhaven itself. Welcome and enjoy your stay!

If you liked Scotland, West Virginia is pretty close. A lot of Scottish immigrants says it reminds them of home in the summertime. Plus we got pretty glass in Vienna and Mothman in Philipi.
Minnesota also grows a lot of sweet corn, and where I am now, what passes for sweet corn makes me sad. ;3; I miss my delicious, juicy, sweet, perfect sweet corn, fresh off the farm.
This is very true. For those of us living here, we can take our time and do it a little here and a little there, save money by driving, go outside of tourist season, etc., but for those coming in from another country, it’s a lot harder. If you ever do come to check out the US, I encourage extensive planning and a lot of time. There’s a ton to see.
It’s all kind of on topic? XD Except maybe NASCAR.
God damn I hate the Illinois pot holes! The state won’t even pave them over and it’s been decades since we got a decent highway fix up.
