Good thing UB didn’t watch the detective as a child. They can hardly keep track of them now. Imagine–A goes to answer the phone, they look up and see the baby waddling past on the other side of the window. N goes to check the mail, and baby detective has followed them out the door. M leaves the room for a moment and returns to find the kid with six unlit cigarettes in their mouth and the rest on the floor. F takes the kid to the park, they see a raccoon and–“Doggy!”–they’re running to pet it.
Rebecca: You let my kid pet a raccoon?!
F: You mean that wasn’t a dog?
It would be chaos.

Oh yeah, definitely. I imagine that’s the story purpose for them not finding out about the MC until Book One. If they had even just been privy to details about the detective growing up, it would be immensely creepy. My general rule for shipping (based on Hetalia) is that if they changed their diapers, they shouldn’t be dating.

Yeah, we’re just joking around. It would be really creepy if the babysitter AU was true in our universe - where the MC gets to date them. But I’m imagining one where they don’t and the four of them play reluctant dad figures in our MC’s life.
