The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book One (Discussion) FAQ Located on Post 2

I believe it also may help if your intel stats are above 50 if you want to go for that ending.

I just finished Nate’s route, some thoughts:

Nate, you smooth bastard! I am glad that Sera’s tumblr asks prepared me for his suave side, it made me so flustered, heh. Still, after Adam’s angsty denial it was nice to experience Nate’s way to deal with growing attraction, which is way more open and straightforward (well, not that I don’t also love some angst). I also found it really interesting that Nate seems to handle his blood-hunger (or whatever you call it) with more diffculty than others in his team - he didn’t want to talk about drinking blood much while they discussed about vampires in general, and then there was that last scene with the detective… It was yet quite subtle, but if it will be explored further in the future books, it’s really stark contrast to his peaceful nature, so intriguing! I foresee some future angst regarding this conflict.

So I played trying to romance Mason doing all the blushing/flustered options when available because that’s what fit my character in this playthrough and I’m curious as to whether or not we’re able to get him to react with feelings maybe with different choices? Mostly he just flirts and tries to seduce me, which I like, but are there any responses that provoke a little more vulnerability at this time?

So first I played through Adam as a combative, fiercely independent lady in cute dresses who won’t be cowed by him and pretty much argues with him at every opportunity.

Next I played through Mason as an adorable charmer who can’t stop blushing because oh no she likes bad boys.

I think next time I’m going to play through Nate as a rebellious party girl who flirts with everyone and is also way, way smarter than anyone would suspect.

Clearly I am into opposites attract (other than for Adam, in which case they are way too similar so THAT provides the tension I crave lol). But I’m not sure what kind of character to play for Felix…

About M’s route: I’ve played through Mason’s route with a detective who’s at least as flirty as he is (if not more so), and while it led to some great sexual tension there wasn’t a noticeable difference in vulnerability. M’s a tough nut to crack, I think it’s gonna be a while before we really see them face their feelings or even just get the chance for MC to notice the cracks in their control

Felix/Farah seems as if they have a very playful personality ya know? And so maybe go with stoic to be the opposite of that?

Edited: Just remembered that Felix/Farah is totally into messing around with people for the laughs so yeah definitely be a stoic person to be different from Felix/Farah.

Yeah, that seems like the most reasonable choice, but stoic isn’t really fun?? My first MC was on the stoic side, and her interactions with F were not very satisfying…But I am excited to play as a super flirt in my next playthrough!

I really, really love being able to play with a character to romance in mind and not really worry about “right” or “wrong” choices (which is something you usually have to worry about a lot in other Choice games). The roleplaying aspect while still getting to experience a romance is immensely satisfying so far, and I imagine will only be enhanced as the relationships deepen in future books.

Well you don’t always have to be stoic all of the time, ya know? Seeing how you can basically roleplay in this story, we could choose to have our MC show moments of weakness towards F if we’re playing a stoic person. But that’s up to you really.

Maybe someone who gets flustered easily but doesn’t want to admit their growing attraction to Felix?
Basically play as Adam, lol.

And regarding Murphy:

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who rather enjoyed his gentleness (if you play nice and listen to what he says, I mean), I think it’s a good contrast to his bloodthirsty nature.
My Detective Charlotte has Science as her highest stat–I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t pay all that much attention to the stats this first time around, I was just enjoying the ride, lol–so her whole shtick was that she was too fascinated by everything to be properly terrified.
This meant that Charlotte was kinda the perfect patient for Murphy, lol.

I’ve just finished a Nate run: cute, cute, cute. But I have to admit he’s not my favourite archetype. I had much more fun with Adam: I was able to have the right amount of sexual tension/screaming at each other/sass. Plus the slow burn that I love. I wanted to make a run for M, but I guss I’m going to make a new run at Adam

Murphy hit the perfect balance between terrifying psycho and oddly sympathetic. I swear, the casual dehumanisation in the way he talked to/about you, and the way he kept touching you? legit shivers down my spine for some of his lines, no joke

I loved it even if the ending wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I usually restart a game if it dosn’t turn out just how I wanted but not this time I loved my ending lackluster though it was. I finished the story at like 10 this morning and have been typing on my choice of… ever since.

It’s nearly midnight where I am. I will be slammed at work tomorrow and the day after. I DON’T CARE, TAKE MY MONEY.

I don’t live in Spain, but thanks :P.

Gotta say, I’m surprised by the amount of people that are romancing M. Didn’t think too many would like the constant…well, rudeness xD

i had an already existing character with exceedingly bad taste in men, who doesn’t believe in emotional attachments, and has a style of flirting that’s halfway between F and M. i couldn’t not adapt him into Wayhaven and throw him at M tbh. (and i’m also planning to romance them with a more easily flustered detective just to see how flustered they’re gonna get, but that’s largely curiousity and my inner completionist)

Honestly I’m the type of guy that is totally into strong women such as Ava and Morgan so it’s natural for me to become instantly attracted to them in the story. Although I did romance Nat and enjoyed her interactions when she’s the one that I’m romancing and I have yet to romance Farah then Ava and Nat at the same time but I might do it tonight.

Well, when you put it that way…xD Yeah, I’ve been thinking of making a shy MC, but don’t know who to pair them with. My fave romance is the A and N triangle  sigh xD For that one I have a nice but rueful MC, who keeps running away from the l-word when it comes to them xD I love me a little slow burn

goodness, you are a braver soul than I am. That route is the only one I haven’t tackled yet, I don’t know if my emotions are ready for it. I’ve got a very sweet, vv easily flustered, supremely useless lesbian i wanna put with Nat cause it’d be cute as hell (and also Farah because she’d combust on the spot with all that flirting), so those would be my first thoughts for a shyer MC.

I, would try to argue that I’m not, in fact, just saying that because N and F are my favourites and I love them, but I cannot in good conscience make that argument so you’ll just have to deal with my blatant favouritism :stuck_out_tongue:

My main character is based on myself and I must say. Some of the flirt options with Nat are pretty amusing. I couldn’t help but keep chuckling every time at the reactions when I’d do em.

Nat is besto. I still gotta try out Ava, Farah, and then the Love Triangle.

jumps on the ‘I love N’ train
Yeah, I mean, that sounds adorable xD But I find that any romance with N is great. I tried to to a stoic MC but he just keep melting around her xD I did the F romance but I just didn’t like that one that much. Something felt missing
I actually found that I like the chars the most when they’re exactly the opposite gender of canon xD A and N as girls, and M and F as men. Weird xD
