Welp there’s Murphy’s one redeeming quality. XD
Okay, I admit that I laughed way harder than I should have at that…
Some day, I really ought to set aside some time, get into the right frame of mind and actually try to romance F. Too bad M and N are ahead in line.
Gonna be really honest: I did not expect to care that much for F’s route, but WOW, am I glad I did it anyway. Still not my absolutely favourite because I have a thing for workaholic assholes, but honestly, close second. F is freaking phenomenal, and I was not expecting it. 10/10, do recommend.
Ah okay. XD I get it now.
@Mewsly I don’t know if I want laugh or cry. Laughing on Murphy’s reaction to F or cry because Murphy don’t take F seriously.
There’s too many fluffs, not enough angst… Time to get to work on that.
Noooo never too much fluff, I need more of it in fact.
@Pizza_is_good (and also @anyone else who wants a good ol’ biology discussion)
SO I WAS DOING MORE RESEARCH BECAUSE I’M A GIANT NERD AND OMG
PIZZAAAAAAAA can I call you pizza?
WHAT ABOUT MALARIA?????
The malaria virus reproduces in the liver, yes, but once it escapes, it can actually multiply on its own within RBCs until they grow so great in number that the RBC bursts and the new swarm of malaria virions infect more RBCS!!!
I know I shouldn’t be excited at something so horrible, but it’s also super duper interesting because!!! what!!! if!!! vampirism!!! works!!! like!!! malaria!!!
AND THAT’s WHY THEY HAVE TO GET BLOOD???
BECAUSE OF THE ANEMIA!!!
ok, now that I’ve cooled off, probably not
AND HERE'S WHY
@pizza_is_good I apologize for being vague in my last post, I hadn’t even noticed, sorry!
My idea wasn’t that the virus injects itself into RBCs—as you said, there’s no genetic material for it to replace—but that the RBCs act as carriers to the virus, perhaps it even lays dormant within them (if the virus is complex enough to enter and escape an RBC—which, lbr, that might be the magic at work, lol). Thus, the RBCs, in travelling around the body, expose the virus to healthy cells capable of reproducing more of its kind.
Specifically I expected the virus to target the bone marrow because bloodlust…is a very odd symptom, and I figured that a vampire’s need for blood might mean that they can’t reproduce blood cells of their own. Is still think that, actually.
If the vampiric virus at all resembled malaria, all vampires would be weak as shit because of how often they would need blood. However, it’s possible that the virus can still function as malaria does in terms of being self-reproducing and systematically attaching itself to RBCs, but probably not in reproducing within RBCs because again, then vamps would be weak af all. the. time.
I’m still not entirely sure what the mechanism would be. I need to do more research.
In addition, I would also like to make it clear that a dormant vampiric virus wouldn’t necessarily cause any harm to the Detective–it would only be an issue if it were “activated”.
In fact, I’m surprised that the Detective even survived a trans-species blood transfusion, as I’m pretty sure that all the pain was because Murphy probably definitely wasn’t the same blood type as the Detective, lol
also, @ Pizza and @ everyone
NEVER THINK I DON’T WANT TO READ YOUR THEORIES.
GIVE THEM TO MEEEEEE.
I LOVE READING THEM.
THEY GIVE ME SUSTENANCE.
The Wayhaven FAQ is now publicly available!
You no longer have to request access to the PM thread because now you can just launch yourself up (and link newcomers) to the very first reply in this very topic to see the FAQ! lol
It’ll be continuously updated as time passes, so feel free to continue submitting questions via @ or PMing me (so that I can see it).
And thanks to @resuri08 for allowing me ownership of the first post on the topic so we could have a convenient place for the FAQ, and also for like finding half the links, lol!
Woohoo! Glad to see it become public! It should be able to help alot of people that may have some pretty common questions later on in the future.
This is great. Love all the characters. Ava is number one of course. Looking forward to the next one.
OT: But Shakira has a GREAT voice!!
FAQ is handy to have. At least now I’m officially free of the pressure to pursue the love triangle. …
My suggestion is to have Sera edit it into the first post of the thread and then update the title to show FAQ in post 1 or something of that nature.
With 500 posts to go through I sometimes miss important ones like this Sorry for not responding to you earlier.
Edit: Finally caught up and edited the title for everyone.
may i ask a question?
Mc:”You must not be too happy, having to suffer being around me a lot more.”
A: “It’s a torture I’m coming to enjoy.”
is that scene only in the love triangle route or can we also get it in A’s route?
That exchange is only in the love triangle route, yes. A’s route has some vv good lines of its own,
though~
Really? I am pretty sure I got that on my A romance
I thought I saw this in A’s route as well.
thank you! (20 characters)
Now you got me worried but no, I triple-checked and it really is an exchange that’s only in the love triangle route. For A’s route the semi-equivalent part is when the detective asks whether their ‘alluring’ blood is difficult for A to deal with, and we get this lovely bit which i’m just gonna quote because i am weak and i thought maybe y’all would enjoy rereading it too
hidden because spoilering block quotes is a pain but do beware this is definitely spoilery
$!{a_his} brow dips into a frown, eyes seeming lost in thought. “Harder than expected….”
The words come out in a half-whisper, and my breath speeds when ${a_she} lifts a hand towards me. $!{a_his} fingers move close to my neck, my pulse racing beneath the skin as ${a_she} traces the line of my vein, ${a_his} touch achingly close to me but not against me.
I wonder if other Supernatural’s powers work on the vamps…
Totally not just wondering because I wanna see an incubus/sucubus try to seduce the RO (especially not A) by turning into the MC
