Yeah but in the end PC still has to bring B3. Maybe make B3 tell PC a bit about what intel it has? Since B3 did say it need the PC specifically, not any people from Bastion or Resistance.
The PC does not have to bring B3. If you refuse B3, it gives the PC a data chip and walks away. It won’t come with you. If the scene does not play out like this, it’s an error and needs to be fixed.
oops I guess it’s an error
Alright. I’ll dig around and see what’s wrong, then.
Can you describe exactly how the scene went for you? It might help me root out the error a little faster.
Nevermind, I found it. There was an error with the indentation in one of the choices. I’ll have it fixed soon.
Addendum: Fixed it. Thanks for letting me know about this, I didn’t realize it was an issue. My bad.
@ExcaliburV aww B3 make me feel like I’m kicking a robotic puppy
Wait, does that mean I actually succeeded in evoking emotions from someone?
Furiously scribbles notes
I’ve been able to consistently produce a critical game-stopping error.
It seems to be linked to “blackmailing” The Unidentified Voice on the Intercom into releasing the other prisoners by refusing to leave solo. After successfully exiting the prison, my MC is met by a human scout who asks her if she’s “the ringleader.” My favorite response is to have my MC accuse him of being “the ringleader” in return. It’s so perfect I just can’t refuse it. The scout then leaves to speak with the other escaped prisoners, a robot speaks to my MC from behind, and when I press the “next” button to have my MC turn around, the game faults.
The error reads: chaptertwo line 950: Invalid expression, expected final closing parenthesis
.
Oh, I see what happened there. The variable that checks whether or not your character had a laser rifle at the time had an error if you didn’t have one. So essentially, it would fail if your character didn’t have a laser rifle.
Fixed it, though. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
Update: Just thought I should mention this. While I said I would start work on chapter 3 sometime this week, since I’ve been getting reports of these (very large) errors in chapter 2, I’m going to hold off for a bit longer to make sure there’s no lingering problems.
That being said, I do have a request for anyone that would be willing to do so. Many of the reports of errors I’ve gotten were during the “save everyone” option. If anyone would be willing to run through the “leave everyone behind” options to make sure there’s no errors to be found there, it would be appreciated.
I don’t find any error for any choice to leave everyone
Update: I have two things to mention here. First, I want to give thanks to @blob (and anyone else who did) for testing the other options for me, it was greatly appreciated.
Second, I’m officially starting my work on chapter 3 today. So… Huzzah!
Update: So, getting into work for this chapter, I’m starting to realize that chapter 3 is the point where it will start taking me longer to finish these chapters. I’m spending half of my time writing *if statements for the different variables at play here.
So yeah, this chapter might take a little while to finish. Just thought I’d make that known.
I’ve encountered an error right after the Resistance member (?) leaves you to help out the other people that have escaped. It says chaptertwo line 816: Non-existent variable ‘rescue_info’ and leads to the following page.
I don’t know if that’s been mentioned before, but I thought I should, just in case. Other than that, I’m curious about this whole Resistance thing. Will there be any romance/ROs?
That’s… A strange error… Hrm. Can you check the stats screen and tell me what the first meter of the Relationships section is? That might help me nail it down.
As for the second question, I do want there to be romance options. However, if I prove myself incapable of writing a decent romance (which is possible, I’m still a novice at this sort of thing) I might scrap the idea. So in short, probably, but maybe not.
Edit: Aha! Nevermind the first question, I found the error and fixed it. Sorry about that.
Update: I just thought I’d let it be known that after my work so far today, I’d say I’ve finished about 1/5 of the chapter, give or take.
I also thought I’d let it be forewarned that this chapter is probably going to be kind of short and very conversation-heavy. So, for anyone that might be looking for more combat-focused chapters, I apologize. (Though I would ask that you bear with me until chapter 4. That’s when things should start to get more interesting. )
Hey guys, I want to apologize for the lack of updates or progress lately. There have been some issues IRL that have kept me from working on this lately, so I haven’t gotten nearly as much work done than I would like.
I’m hoping I can work more on this soon, but I’m willing to guess that this will remain stagnant for another week or so. I’m sorry for such an extensive holdup.
So, I wanted to announce that I’m getting back to work on this finally! … Well, sort of.
I’m still going to be working at a slower pace than I would like for now, but I’ve actually started working on this again.
Hey, guys! Long time no see.
I will once again start this update with an apology on how quiet this has been. Problems keeping me down, yadda yadda. I’ve only been able to work on this in tiny bits and pieces over the last couple weeks, which means progress hasn’t been great.
And unfortunately, once again, I’m going to be putting this down for a week and a half, maybe two weeks. In short, I’ll be moving to a new place soon, so I’ll be a little too busy to be writing. However, I’m hoping this will be a positive thing; I’ve been told that a change in scenery can do wonders for creativity.
So, best case scenario, in the next two weeks or so, I’ll be back to writing this as much as possible with a fresh, new drive. I’m really sorry for the wait so far, but I’m hoping it’ll be worth it.
Addendum: As an addition to this, I’m a little curious about something, if you’ll indulge me. I know that, with how long this has been quiet, interest has probably dwindled a bit, so I thought I’d try to form a small poll; the question is, simply put, are you still interested in seeing this story finished? Feel free to throw in an answer if you like; again, this is just something I’be been curious/worrying about, and the answer might be good to know.
- Yes
- No

Alright, people! The wait’s finally over!
I’ve moved in, and just like I hoped, I have some ideas on how to progress with this where I originally had none. Yay! Fires confetti
I want to thank the people that voted in the survey. It was a small, impromptu thing that my self-conscious urged me to set up. And I’m definitely pleasantly surprised by the answers I got! So, thanks for that.
But that’s all I have for now. I’ll post an update when I’ve made notable progress on chapter 3! Until then, thanks for sticking around for this wait, I really appreciate it.
What happens next? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!? I really like it, and I just gotta know if this robot is forreal or not!
