But on this we are going to a war that we have no chance of winning without allies and soon. We’re not at peace and there’s no better way out of this other than both Richard and MC getting into marriages they don’t want to. He shouldn’t be angry for doing what’s asked out of him as a royal in times of need. Plus he only says that because he wants Clara (and she’s very uncomfortable with it may I add)

Yes, she isn’t forceful to any of her children and has openly shown the lengths she will go to protect them. I never tried to invalidate anything Charles has done either, I am simply pointing out that he isn’t the only one at fault for Richard like you’re suggesting. Also him training Richard has no effect on who the sword picks, there is a reason why you literally have to be a rival to Richard for him to picked. He doesn’t want the throne and in the narrative the sword won’t give the kingdom to someone who doesn’t want it.
While you’re right that the kids have done nothing wrong, I am afraid that stance can only hold up in a perfect world and that doesn’t exist even in fiction. He is human and humans hate, it is what it is.

I didn’t say all kings got assassinated it was just pretty common amongst them even if you are a pacifist or bloodthirsty king just know that there always gonna be a Judas in your court
Because showing favoritism for one of the heirs over the others even when he knows relationships are strained between the kids is a great way of maintaining future peace. Surely NO KID would ever get jealous/angry at the only one being showed their father love and support. How could this go wrong? War over the throne? Naaah.
Plus by doing this he gave ground for Richard to have supporters even if he isn’t the king which we see on the story. Because hey “even the old king wanted him to be king!”.

The point here is that she’s still uncomfortable and he still doesn’t respect her wishes. Doesn’t matter if it’s just one route, he still does it.

No, they’re not “pretty common”. Most kings do not, in fact, suffer assasination attempts.
Except she, y’know, is. Just look at the glances she throws Atheris at the dinner table. The advantage we have is that she has three kids to be forceful with, and Atheris is liable to be the bullheaded one, so we don’t see much of it.
So, AGAIN, Richard is a perfectly nice person about everything, provided everything is going his way.
Like, I don’t even know this route, because when one of my options is a fit, strong-willed redhead there aren’t really any other options, but it’s definitely not a point in favour of Richard.

Bruh to have a favourite is like asking the kingdom to divide that is one thing no ruler should do or manipulate for his own goal because you have a united kingdom if you divide it eventually it will come to ruins and revolts will start

And yet Charles does it. This is pretty much the only thing nobody here is disputing. Richard is defintiely his favourite, everybody knows it, and nobody’s shy about admitting it.
I mean, that doesn’t really matter in this sittuation, because Rhivenian succession is sword-based. We’re not running a democracy here. But still.

Oh my god. Let me say it again, she is only uncomfortable if YOU the MC goes after her. Clara just wants a peaceful life having two princes and brothers competing or her attention isn’t what you would call peaceful, the fact that she picks Richard in every other route only proves my point. If anyone isn’t respecting her wishes its the MC in that situation.

I really don’t know how to make it more obvious that it’s not ok to not accept the girl’s decision doesn’t matter if it’s just one route. For the character to do this? Yeah, PRETTY bad on my book. Like a huge red flag.

Um, She literally said that Atheris hasn’t experienced true love so she couldn’t understand her(the mother’s) point. How is that forceful, especially after Atheris literally just decides to start a whole thing for no reason.
If you’re not interested in her, there’s nothing for her TO pick. Like, the MC isn’t an option on the table for her in those paths. It’s like that Chris Rock joke about him boycotting Rihanna’s panties.

Last time I am going to say this. She is uncomfortable when YOU the PLAYER gets in the picture. She has no issue with Richard, her reaction to their time in the city has more to do with her realizing his feelings and her own station to his. The fact she only gets uncomfortable when the MC is the picture should tell you who is the problem.
She could still have said no ro Richard, its a big Kingdom our sister loves a pirate for christ sakes. It wasn’t a given that she would say yes to him.

Him. He’s the problem actually. If the only route she’s uncomfortable is when the MC gets in the story then it’s the only route he’s being told “no”. I don’t know what point you’re trying to make here on this as if having the MC there = Richard has free reign to disrespect her wishes of who she wants to be with but sure go off I guess.

Guys compete for the same girl on a daily basis. She never tells Richard no by the wayIf you two end up together at the end of book one she still refuses to tell him no. Saying that they need to talk about your relationship.
Richard has never lashed out at Clara and Clara has said openly that she isn’t angling for
a marriage, so she could have turned him down. The fact that she didn’t should show you something.

I know, I’ve played the full demo. And hey my dude competition when she’s uncomfortable with you going after her isn’t a competition, it’s just the guy being creepy. I’d know, I’m a girl which is why I heavily dislike Richard on the first place, because on that route he just sounds like EVERY guy you don’t really wanna be rude to and he ends up making a big deal out of it. Plus she says no because she knows he likes her and she doesn’t like him back and the consequences that come with it. As the one scene that he hits on her and her smile dies down shows, she knows it’s bad.
She wants to make sure everything is safe doesn’t equal her wanting to be with him.
