Outside of that kid, I don’t think so as of yet
I think that is mostly going to happen in Book 3 since it’s kinda well the end, or i Book 2 where we will start just addopting random homeless kids we found in the street

I’ve gotten the sword before so I know I’ve been able to raise the stat enough, but I’ve never paid enough attention to stat changes to know what choices lead to higher leadership stats. I tend to play the benevolent ruler type though, so I know that it’s not about choosing to punish people or being cruel to people. I’m always kind to Xavier, although I think the play through I got the sword, I told him I couldn’t help him escape, I treat Astryn well (and I think I usually say I’m doing it to show her Rhivenia isn’t evil or whatever), I always get along with Richard (I have no interest in Clara, friendship or otherwise), I’m nice to the uncle too. I always defend the bartender and the kids too…
If I replay, I’ll try to pay attention to what choices move my stats!
Okay that’s what I thought but I wasn’t sure since the description said start a family. I thought maybe there was a way to have a baby with Xavier that I missed lol. He’s the only one that would make any sense at this point, to further secure an alliance or whatever
One would be people reacting to your horse if you decided to call her Clara. Nothing, Richard? Human Clara? Nope? Alright…
Also i should say this, it would be pretty good if people treated you like the fucking royal you are. Children mock you openly in the streets, your soldiers don’t seem to give a single fuck you were almost assassinated because you didn’t hunt a deer, your stepmother is able to tell you she hates you and wants you to fail without getting immediately thrown into an oubliette for literal treason…
Where’s my goddamn respect?
Honestly with all the issues with Richard and his Family I personally think it would be a good “Evil” choice. To be able to be able to put some of the blame of things such as the poisoning, the killing of the king, or even some made up crime like embezzlement on Richard/his mom, that way you could establish both your characters authority as a king especially over the royal family, and remove someone who is very likely to try and fuck over your reign at some point.
The solution is simple. Establish a praetorian guard of sorts who’re loyal to you only. It’d probably be best to get em from outside your nation and the local regional nations. Sorta like the Varangian Guard of the Byzantine Emperors. After that, basically bully everyone with them and kill off all dissenters quickly, like Richard who is a pretender and his annoying ass mom. I think Daemir would help out, and probably agree with this line of thinking. I’d also sequester our mother and sisters somewhere where they cant do anything stupid lol. Basically, be a freaking tyrant cause feelings, morals, ethics, and such are no longer applicable in this time of crisis where no one respects you.
Exactly, Rhivenya want a strong ruthless leader, give them one, pull a Sulla so they stop to whiney like the clown they are.
For the siters, Aetheris work as army commander, she is loyal and have half of a brain, something that 99% of the people of the cast doesn’t get.
Your elite guard put under the command of Sir Arnold.
Kill ALL the dissenter, and take 60% of money and holding to the crown, so you get money and manpower to fought the war, 30% to your ally because loyalty need to be rewarded, the rest of the money to the soldiers so you make them happy and loyal.
I would swap their positions. Sir Arnold might have more experience in the field as a commander. (if knights or Rhivenia are allowed to command troops (not enough lore)). And having Atheris as a commander of bodyguard unit (especially if you have great relationship with her) will allow to start getting experience in command with fewer people and show her that we value her
Ooh! The first suggestion would be easy to implement in an update (I don’t actually know Choicescript code so maybe it’s not?)
One way I could see the skill checks suggestion working is adding events throughout the years that on a mechanic level, are meant to test your level of skill. But character development and worldbuilding-wise, can easily be used to flesh out the world, individualize our mc more and show us the progression of their worldview, and give us more (dysfunctional) family character dynamics!
For example, maybe your mc starts off idealistically loving their father, believing they could get a chance to train with Charles too! Then over the years the player can choose options that characterize their mc as becoming more and more aware that this will never happen, this story (with the right reworking) has the potential to show a daunting (but realistic) depiction of a child growing up with an absentee parent or parents and how emotional neglect (especially with a sprinkle of conditional love and parental favouritism on top of it), regardless of Charles’s justification for it, can be just as psychologically harmful as other forms of abuse.
Did this game feel kinda short? It definitely didn’t feel like it was 750k+ words long.
750k words includes coding if i am correct, there is also the fact that the game has 3 paths instead of 1 long path that takes more than 30 minutes to finish so it feels short instead of a long and dragging experience
Y’know one thing that goes REALLY underdressed by this forum that could be suggested for NutellaQueen are the heirs’ isolation from the common people until their early teens.
Like I know it’s for their personal protection, but what if it’s actually detrimental to the heirs of Rhivenia, but we don’t really know how much an heir below the age of 13 knows about the commonfolk of their own people. If they were exposed to it earlier, they might’ve been able to be learn to empathize with their struggles much easier. But since they don’t, then it’s harder for a ruler to know what the people need and how to keep them loyal to your rule.
That being said, we should have optional side quests with each of our siblings in our childhood that helps you develop skills and get to know your sibling better. One example would be being able to sneak out with Freya in an optional side quest (which is connected to the paragraph above).
In all honesty, it’s not like i feel you need to add a million new scenes and side-adventures to make it better. There’s plenty of situations where you could have easily done something to show that your choices matter - for example, when you’re attacked, why aren’t you able to defend yourself?
You’ve trained your entire life, and yet you can’t dispatch of these assassins? You don’t even get to choose? Why can’t i run them through with a sword, bring their heads and say that they were the hunt?
Make Atheris your personal assassin >:3
Yeah that bothers me quite a bit, we have the stats of like 80% Swordmanship or 80% Close combat yet we can’t even try to resist a attempt against our life? “Oh no, Assasins are trying to kill me, welp i had a good run gg bros”
Does the MC have no sense of preservation or something? Is his brain being fucked by stupid along with the rest of Rhivenia lol?
How many Books are there? so far, the Author didn’t reply as i ask this a week ago.
In Golden Rose Book one the Author always reply. Hey, you all should read the Golden Rose Book one - it was very very good.
At least 3 books. I gotta say the stats are basically just aesthetics at this point but i would give Nutella the benefit of the doubt for book 2 where we could really see MC in action.
Heyy! Do you have a guide for romancing Daemir? I’m kinda having trouble choosing the right choices to romance him.
So I just finished a playthrough as king and it so changes how I view Richard and his mother because at least for me only these two change a lot after you become king and most of the other characters don’t really care if you’re the king or not.
Isabelle
While I can understand her hating us because of what Alvena did and I don’t blame her for it either but to manipulate her own son to the point he doesn’t tell us that there could be a plot to kill/hurt us and sure you can say he didn’t know but when you say you knew this would happen he doesn’t deny it and you would think after what happened with Charles and his brothers she would know better than to do this to her own child.
Richard
At first, I didn’t think he made a bad king just a-okay one and I liked him as a brother but it wasn’t till after playing as king that I could see he would make a shit king in the long run and by that I mean he goes long with Isabelle’s plot to end us in someway like hello we already know how that ends and news flash it’s not good and the other thing is when you marry him off which is the best for our people btw and he knows it but still spends the whole game acting like a child and I love that you can tell him that as well plus to make him acting that way even more annoying is that Clara doesn’t even seem to really care that she can’t marry him anymore.
Talking about Clara feeling for Richard when playing as a prince I couldn’t really tell if she liked him in that way at all especially when you learn she’s had years of bullying because of him and there is also the fact of how she quickly gets over not being able to marry him and that she doesn’t been it up again either.
To be honest, Richard makes me think of what Sir Arnold said about there being a fine line between love and obsession and to me, Richard is closer to obsession most of the time.
@Just_browsing Same I went out of my way to learn both Close combat and Archery so that if I need to I defend myself against attacks whether they were close or long-range but when I actually need to use those skills I don’t for whatever reason…
