@Alexia9848 My lips are sealed!
Nooooo!
Man I’m just getting more and more excited for this! I’ve played the demo more than 7 times and I can’t choose anyone besides Staarsa
Dammit Straasa let me choose Morkai for just one play through!!!
I love this so much. One thing that seemed weird on my most recent playthrough, was the money aspect. I know that in the beginning you basically have nothing…but then I allowed the boys to give me the pouch then not much later, I took 100 from the dude who wanted me to give them the “missive” (I chose to do it, but warn them…he mentioned 200 as the fee and that you would get 100 now and the rest after you did it) then we pretty much immediately get on the boat and suddenly it is mentioned that I cannot afford the trip? Shouldn’t I atleast have 100 (assuming I didn’t collect the rest afterward) + whatever was given to me in the pouch? Did I miss something? (I have been known to miss things…hahaha) anyway, you’ve written a really compelling beginning - and the boys are hot sooo nice job! A++ ;p
@Jender I’m so glad you liked it! I really gave it my all to make a strong start! (And to make the boys hot, ahaha!)
As for the money, the fare is 200 coins, so 100 coins from the job and you need another 100. The pouch did not have 100 coins in it, haha, Straasa and Morkai are generous but not that generous! The pouch would contain 30-40 coins, 50 tops.
So you were still a 50+ coins short, I’m afraid
@Alexia9848 Maybe you can choose both?
Ahhh for some reason I thought the fare was 100…THANK YOU! For some reason I couldn’t stop thinking about it as I kept reading…now I can dive in to another readthrough!!!
@Jender Hahaha, glad I could help! Have fun with your new readthrough
I enjoyed my playthroughs so SO much!
I romanced Straasa the first time and promptly fell in love (I’m a sucker for the gentle giant types) and as I soon as I finished, I tried again with Morkai and he seems like so much fun. Then I found out you can romance both at the same time and I thought “Well now that’s just perfect” and proceeded with my third playthrough.
The way you write characters is spot on. Straasa and Morkai feel so genuine (though maybe they have hidden motives we don’t know about) and that bounty hunter at the beginning felt appropriately sleazy.
I usually go for the mage type characters and was wondering if we might get to pick a specialization for our magic? Also I can’t wait to find out what exactly the soul stones are and why they’re such a big deal.
@SamCornick I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I looooove writing characters, making them feel real, loveable (or not), flawed.
Did you try out both variations of the initial meeting with Straasa and Morkai? It’s basically two entirely different scenes! It has to do with the way you answer the bandit at the beginning. If you refuse to answer his questions, you don’t learn about the bounty and things progress differently!
As for the magic, no, you won’t be able to pick a specilizaton. You’ll gain access to more spells as you level up, more complex ones that pack more punch, but they’ll be a mix of many different schools.
And the Soul Stones… Oh man, I can’t WAIT to write about them! I think I’ll appropriately shock everyone! I’m getting gleeful just thinking about it!
Also, Chapter 4 is almost completely done! It’ll probably drop on either Sunday or Monday! And in that chapter, you’ll actually get to see some poly scenes in action! Can’t wait to show everyone what I’ve been slaving over for 2 weeks!
Oooh! No, I didn’t! Playthrough number four coming right up! Also yay for the next chapter! I feel like I’m using too many exclamation points but I’m honestly excited!
@SamCornick Have fun with it! And I’m excited about the next chapter too! I’m feeling very satisfied with it!
I was a ditz and forgot you said to not answer the bandit and instead chose to lie so I got the same scene as before lol. I’ll try again next time. Anyway here’s a list of typo and grammar corrections I put together before my save glitched and trapped me in the stat screen:
Summary
The two men, dressed in leather jerkins, are yielding a shot-spear and a great sword respectively
“Yielding” should be “wielding” and I believe “shot-spear” should be “short-spear”
Straasa. That name ringed a bell for some reason, but it was faint, like a dreamlike recollection. Did you know these men. Then the pieces clicked.
The past tense of “ring” is “rang” but since you’re going for present tense the paragraph should say: “Straasa. That name rings a bell for some reason, but it is faint. Do you know these men? Then the pieces click.”
“Come, let’s talk. You must be hungry. I’ll have some food sent up,” he says after you has you securely sat in the chair.
It should either be “after he has you securely sat” or “after you have securely sat”. I’m not sure which you were going for.
“Morkai…” Straasa complained, looking pained.
Verb tense: should be “complains”
Especially when there was money involved, and he had nothing to gain by helping you?
Verb tense: should be “Especially when there is money involved, and he has nothing to gain by helping you”
Also our “faithful steed” (who I named Faith) is at first called a mule and the stat screen refers to her as a mule too, but sometimes she is called a donkey as well. Mules and donkeys are not the same thing; mules are the hybrid offspring of a donkey and horse.
Fun fact I learned when I double checked to make sure I remembered that correctly: they’re called mules when the father is a donkey and the mother is a horse. If the father is a horse and the mother is a donkey, the offspring is called a hinny.
@SamCornick Thank you so much for the bug finding! I’ve corrected everything and will upload the updated version along with Chapter 4 tomorrow!
Again, THANK YOU!
@Morgan_V isn’t there a scene where the mc passed out after meeting the duo for the first time and woke up momentarily to help them before passing out again?
@JakRatchet Yup, that’s indeed true! Why? Is something the matter? Is it not triggering for you?
The problem is I couldn’t find the scene again. Is there a path that wouldn’t include that scene?
No problem. I tend to get tripped up on verb tenses when I write for a while so I might be extra sensitive to them.
Woo chapter 4!
@JakRatchet Yes! It depends on how you answer the bandit at the beginning! If you refuse to answer him or attack him before he tells you about the bounty, then you don’t get the inn scene, you get the scene where they try to give you money! So either lie to him, answer him honestly, or attack him after he’s told you and you’re good to go!
@SamCornick No, you’re absolutely right! I’m sometimes having trouble with the present tense, cause I’m not used to using it, so finding out wrong verb tenses really helps me out! You rock!
@honey_milk They are bugs, yes! Especially the first one was a serious one, cause it would have stopped you from getting the flirt options! Good job, my friend! THANK YOU!
