Hi! I’m Sahara, and I’ve been doing taekwondo since I was 7 years old. The Phoenix is my first real attempt at an interactive fiction game, and the first time I’m putting my writing out into the world. So any feedback/constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated : ) <3
There were many names they called you. Prodigy, cheater, phoenix. On the mat, however, none of that mattered. All you had to do was strike.
Once, your parents had been the darlings of the sporting world. Both Olympic gold medallists in the art of Taekwondo, they were revered as the pride of their nation, the golden couple.
That is, until word of the doping scandal came out. Since then the now disgraced golden couple dipped out of the spotlight, deciding a more domestic life was suited to them. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect their kid to want to join the sport who’s name they had tarnished.
At 25 years old, you had been fighting since you could remember. Now, you have the chance to restore your family name to its former glory: as the masters of Taekwondo.

Nice! It’s always cool to see more Sport-themed IFs (especially the one where we get 1vs1 action), and the current demo already shows a lot of promise.
I dunno how ROs will look later on, but I am already interested in the couch.
I enjoyed the fact that we can choose our own Persona for the media, stuff like that always interesting too see, so I hope we will get to see more reactions from the fans and hates later on.
The training scene showed a lot of promise as to how the fights will look in the future, I kinda wished we had an actual spar, but oh well, for the first update it’s already very good.
Anyway - great stuff! Can’t wait to see more
haha thank you! i did originally try to get an actually sparring match in but it felt too cluttered we will get real sparring soon though, hopefully next chapter if i stick to the plan!
This is really good, we don’t typical see Slice of life/sports WIP anymore so this is really amazing. The storyline/plot is good, and the scandal adds drama to the story! I don’t really see any cons! Keep of the amazing work.
Wow, what a great start! Consider me hooked! Your writing style is very smooth and engaging. Im genuinely interested to learn more about mc and the other characters. Getting to play as an Olympian is really cool. Im looking forward to our fights and maybe getting into some trouble in the Olympic village.
This seems pretty promising! I’m always down for a good sport-based game, especially with martial arts involved, and the drama in the background only makes it more engaging. Thanks for the demo, I’ll eagerly await for the next update!
What will MC have to do to win? It depends on the stats? I’m not sure whether to focus on two, e.g. attack and tactics or just a little increase everything.
