These are absolutely planned features! There will be a number of different ways for this series of scenes to play out, but both of the ideas you mentioned will absolutely make it into the story as possible outcomes.

Writer’s Diary #35
October 15th, 2023
Hello dear friends! I apologize that this update is coming out rather late this Sunday (in my timezone at least), but I certainly hope the large amount of progress I’ve made will make up for it! And by large progress, I do mean large! I’ve spent well over 10+ hours writing and brainstorming since Thursday night (just about all of my weekend has been spent writing). Without further adieu, however, I’m happy to share them.
The Updates
For the rest of the month, I’ll be working to fix any coding errors or grammatical errors that pop up (as I mentioned, most of this writing was done in a frenzy split between about three sittings, and I’d hate to post a broken demo). I’ll also be going back in and adding some smaller scenes that I’ve been meaning to get around to for a while, as well as sprucing up some scenes from earlier in the story since I feel my writing has come a long way since I’ve started this project a little over a year ago now.
All in all, no matter what my progress is on adding these scenes or sprucing up earlier ones, there will absolutely be updates coming on November 1st. For Patrons, those updates will include the entire story as it’s written. For all of my lovely supporters on the forums, that’ll be everything through Chapter 3 (an added 83,000 words)

It is possible to keep the majority on the midterms? I’m trying to find a way, but I wasn’t capable to do it yet.
This is theoretically possible! I’m still going through the playtesting portion of the new update, but it is a possible outcome to keep control of the Senate. No matter what, though, your party will lose control of the House of Representatives.
The best possible outcome is to have the opposition party gain an incredibly narrow majority.

THE UPDATE IS HERE
For those of you in the U.S. and elsewhere where Halloween is celebrated – I hope you had a safe and enjoyable Halloween. For those celebrating Día de Muertos, a Feliz Día de los Muertos for you. For the rest of you, I hope you had a lovely October!
As promised, I’m so so happy to be able to finally post an update to both the public and private demos today. To find the update, Patrons will see the November Edition posted to my Patreon (it should also be pinned). For all my other lovely readers on the forum, it’ll be the same link in my first post. Still, I’ll link both below to more easily access them.
The updates listed below obviously won’t be all the changes, but I’ll highlight the biggest things that are new in each.

Going forward, I’m certainly hoping to be getting updates out a bit more frequently (to both the public and private demos). The fact that it’s been about ten months since the last public update is certainly not ideal, and I hope to change that in the future.

There seems to be an issue with the midterms, on the scene where the results are announced it keeps breaking
We reported the same issue at the same time 
Going to look into this issue now to try and see what the issue may be – just scanned through it once but am still unsure of why this may be happening. Will update you when I think I’ve fixed it!

I think I found a bug, my Vice president give me his opinon on wich of the three proposal I should choose, I follow his advice and then I loose relation with him
Error message bug has been fixed – will look into the VP relationship drop tomorrow!
Although there’s no big update this year, I’m just glad you still in here and still working on this
