Can it also change at a later date? I mean there may be a point where my mc may want to stay with Eddie outside of school, but we’re not quite at that point yet.

Maybe make it something to really mull over then, as the mc is still a minor and mine could very well reason that even if, also still a big if, as the promise is made before the mind-wipe and after the mind-wipe we naturally wouldn’t remember what we had been promised anyway, the financial windfall the Duke promised us is real then either the mundane British state or some horrible foster/adoptive family will find a way to wrangle it legally so they, and not the mc, can get their hands on that money while he is still a minor.
Yeah for my mc I was hoping for a little more contemplation and inner monologue, like the mc actually being in thought for a couple of minutes before ultimately deciding he trusts neither the Duke, nor the mundane British system/government enough to take that deal.
Right now the options to stay seem bit too simplistic or enthusiastic for my mc.
Although I am of course going to play through the scenes you get when staying with Eddie, as I want to hopefully see the preliminary effects of increasing his secret stat.
So what is the stat actually supposed to be, 42 or 48?
Well…Artie sure seemed to have had much better luck with the mundane foster care system than our mc’s did.
I just want to know wtf happened with the gate, even though it didn’t open for the MC it still gave some kind of reaction and I want to know what’s that all about

Honestly, the only real difference is that you got sent to Mr Birton… (And if your MC set the fire, that’s entirely their own fault…) Sure, he was much worse than anybody Artie got, but they also never got anybody as good as the hippies (who, sure, you didn’t get to keep… )

Hey! It’s the 1 year anniversary of my first One Chosen post! (Well, tomorrow, but I have no idea if I’ll remember to say anything then.) It really does not seem that long… And yet, at the same time, it feels like another age…
Anyway, I do have a legitimate reason to post: I was wondering if people would like to update their appearance every so often? This would include things like hair dye and piercings which weren’t available at the start. On the one hand, this would be more realistic, but on the other hand, it feels like it could be weird to force the narrative back to your appearance when most people will just choose what they want to look like at the start… (I am thinking that if I have it just at the start, I’ll probably have a moment when you can choose things like hair dye and piercings too… ) Also, are there any other appearance choices you’d like?

Yes! Please allow my mc to at least get his ears pierced (and maybe his hair bleached) at some point. It’s natural teens experiment with these sorts of things. Plus I figure with a high secret stat Eddie will go through his own (fashion) transformation too, right?
The only thing that holds back those sorts of things is chronic lack of money/resources…which may indeed be a problem for the mc now…
I dont really mind if you don’t include piercings and hair colouring etc , if its too much work for you . But if you do include the extra options can you add facial hair as well(i know its too much for a teen but then we may get kratos and atreus feel with mc and artie).
I feel like maybe after major plot points you could use the style change as also a personality change the MC could go through with how people are treating them after everyone found out about them not being the Chosen One.
Yeah, but who is going to pay to get the mc new clothes now, after the real chosen one entered the picture? And I suspect the demeaning jobs will earn like 1.73 pounds a week, right? And whatever the British equivalent of the dollar store is, I doubt any clothes they might have will be nice, let alone fashionable.
Maybe…but the mc cannot have squirrelled away too much and in the case of mine building a magical computer and other gadgets takes money too.
It’ll probably come down to charity from Teri and/or Eddie again then…my mc won’t really like that, but what other choice does he have…well except for never having anything nice at all.
Remember that the duchess will be providing the MC with enough money to afford things like food and clothes… It may not be as much as you got in your first year, but you won’t be dressed in rags. (Unless you want to be. )
And you can just use the school supplies for building gadgets, as long as you claim it’s for a school project…
Sure, “I need funds to buy an IBM summit to modify. It’s for a school project.”
Now theoretically I’m sure that should my mc be successful enough a company could eventually be built out of reliably computerising the execution of magic along a unified field theory by converting either other magical energy or electricity, but then my mc would be literally trading away what is supposed to be his trump card and the thing that makes the juice worth his squeeze when it comes to performing magic. And ultimately it is power my mc is after, not money.
Yeah, but probably not really nice clothes or more expensive materials…like silk and quality leather.
I kinda took it to mean she’d be paying for just the mc’s horrid school uniforms and that for anything else we’d be on our own…so that’s not the case then?
I also wonder since his family kinda seems to have cut him off would Charlie have to suffer a fashion downgrade as well?
