The One Chosen (WiP; on hiatus)

I think it will be innovative and added replaybility for you to let the player end the game premature, and then witness the consequence / aftermath of this choice, players can always replay with a different decision as it is the beauty of choice game, i remember playing a chose your own adventure game book before, where at the start of the story , there were two scenes for readers to end the game even before the adventure start, one by retreating cowardly and another by not forgiving your brother and refuse his quest … and one more scene in the middle of the quest by accepting the antagonist bargain, all these decision will lead to different consequence to allow readers to understand the perspective of each actions, i think it is cool and make the story more realistic

And updated again! Hopefully there won’t be any long-lasting consequences from the last update. :innocent:

The current game has a little over 100,000 words, with an average playthrough of 40,000 words.

Okay, I’ve been meaning to mention this earlier, but I forgot. When playing the game, I feel it would make sense to have an option to ask for clarification “Worse thing I’ve ever done morally or legally?”

Arson is of course a serious crime, but considering the verbally, if not emotionally abusive foster family, the MC might hold firm that they had it coming.

Likewise, stealing is a crime, but stealing to survive instead of dying from starvation, the MC might feel entirely justified.

You mean for the Truth or Dare? The game certainly treats “Stole” as separate from “Stole to survive”, and your friends also treat the answers differently. I guess I could add a clarification if you think it’s warranted, though.

I mean I’d like an option for the MC to ask “When you say worst thing I did, do you mean from a moral or legal standpoint?”

Well, the answer would be “Either,” but sure.

And unrelated to those stats…

From that little glimpse of everyone’s behavior after the big reveal, you can just tell life is going to be hell. The worst part is, it’s not even their fault. If those students want to be mad, they should be mad at the people responsible for dragging mc through this.

(But let’s be real, we all know they won’t :unamused:)

Don’t know how I feel about Artie, though. On one hand, he seems like a pretty nice kid. On the other, him showing up has screwed up my mc’s life. Again.

So again I ask: Can we side with the villain?

even if i may not be the chosen one , but i feel the spirit of defiance and cool, both Helena and Xiulan still like me , and i like the Duchess as well for standing up with me … that was fun especially i play the part of pissing off the duke .
Ummm… i like both the scene with Alder and Dark Lady Darokka , curious to learn more on what happen.since Alder know my name, as for Darokka, i love the part when we could be allies now so that she has a chance to rule in future , i definitely want to interact more with Darokka and request further help from her , our relationahip could be like Tom and Jerry , we need each other

Okay, so some people have 48 points and some people have 42… Oops… (This is one reason why I ask people about it…)

That would be a secret. :innocent: But a better question to ask might be: Who even is the villain? :innocent:

Both Alder and Dorakka will appear again, yes. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Well, it might depend on the route you choose, admittedly.

demon can be the good guy how now

can i ask Dorakka to give me a skeleton as pet ? Maybe a Lich as servant or bodyguard?

By the way, what are the hidden stat? many ppl seem to get it…

I have already said too much. :innocent:

I won’t say that you won’t be able to get skeletons, although it would be much later, but liches are a significantly different kind of being. Specifically, skeletons are basically golems made out of bones (and likewise zombies are golems made out of bodies before they decompose). Liches are closer to vampires, except without the whole blood business, and they would object to being forced into servitude…

A high value means Ædmund will start to be less uptight and more… naughty…

Also, because I like finding out what people choose, where have people chosen to stay?

  • School
  • With Aedmund
  • With Helena
  • With Max
  • With Teri
  • The duchess’s town house

I guess I’m one of the 42 point peasants. :sob:
`
Did you add more stat-raising opportunities in the earlier chapters, as I did replay the last chapters from a save this time? Maybe that is cause of the stat-point discrepancy?

And I’m sure I missed a secret stat point somewhere too…grrr. :disappointed:

I bet the true mastermind behind it all is that super-cutie Alder, right? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But what’s up with that weird compulsion on the mc as mine would have chosen to leave providing the Duke really was serious about that whole lap of luxury thing. .
As right now in the magical world we’re a widely despised nobody anyway and come next year the demeaning jobs will probably start too. :worried:

No just my personal opinion I don’t like being a stereotype demon king could be the good guy and the stupid Destiny crap is is someone’s plot just to take over play Both Sides only opinion what I believe and knowing our history there has been people who done this crap making a fake Destiny and play everyone as a fool hell faith is a powerful thing and dangerous thing at that it’s the rise and fall of Kingdoms

I am considering staying with Helena, that was my choice in the playthrough, and it was cute that her father agree to let me stay with her, oh well since Helena is my RO , naturally i am more leaning towards this choice.

But at the same time, staying in duchess town hall seem more intrigued , because by staying alone, i long to be visit by unexpected people , it seems more cool but most importantly i want to be known that i am sided with the Duchess.

I definitely will play through both choices

Just wondering, choosing who to live with isn’t like locking me into a Romance with that person is it?

Not recently, I don’t think…

Just checking, and there are more than 20 points available, although some are definitely mutually exclusive, so I doubt the max is over 15. But judging by the values that have been coming in, I’d probably have the threshold at about 5, so you’d be fine. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Because I don’t want you to just stop playing the story… :frowning:

Well, I will certainly say that it’s definitely more complicated than people have claimed, but I’ll leave it at that. (Plus I think it’s pretty clear that Destiny – or what is generally believed to be Destiny – is at best a little awry… :innocent:)

Fortunately you can pick as many choices as you want in the poll. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Oh, no. Don’t worry. After all, both Charlie and Xiulan are excluded from it. It’ll give you a couple of extra scenes, but mostly it’s just to answer the question of where you live when you’re not at school (which, yes, can still be at school).
