The Odessa Dating Games (WIP) - UPDATING IN MID-JULY!

I’m sad that the demo had to be locked (and I feel a bit guilty, since I had posted a bug that had been addressed, sorry I didn’t know), but I do hope it helps with the reposting of the bugs. Thank you for this wonderful WIP!

i’m very wary (and pretty much dislike at this point) of the King but i like Queen Ramona and Princess Mozelle. Does opposing (passively or maybe even passively-aggressively) the KIng make me an immediate Odessenter?

Pretty sure you are an Odessenter if you actively speak out or work against the royal family in some way. Not liking the King isn’t enough.

Ah, so working against him - no matter how subtle still counts. Thanks.

Oh no, it won’t. Like Jay said above me, a number of factors come into play in order to be seen as an Odessenter. Picking small things that aren’t exactly pro-Crown helps early on, but big chances will come later.

Also, just because you lean more towards being loyal to the Fae doesn’t mean you’re automatically an Odessenter either. I’d daresay that joining the Odessenters is a whole separate route on it’s own.

For example, it is possible to be pro-Crown, but have the objective to take down the Odessenters, so you lie to them to gain their trust (assuming you’re rather charming or have good cunning stats) and betray them in the end. Vice versa and other ways as well.

I’d say the main three loyalties you can choose to have are to the Royal Family, to the Fae, or to the Odessenters.

Bit sad about the reposting and lockdown but it’s always the author’s choice. I usually check up on this at least once a week. Moving along so this means there’s always a side of the three you’ll have to choose/support at the moment/planned?

I certainly wasn’t expecting political intrigue from this WIP , but the inclusion of this mechanic makes me very happy since the king rubbed me off the wrong way too at first (and to a lesser extent, the rest of the royal family. I mean, the way they all said “Godspeed and God bless Odessa” in unison at the end of that broadcast… How does that not sound creepy?), but I wasn’t too sold on the fae either (I mean, I’m withholding judgement on Juliet until we know more about her motives, but still, I’m not going to take the king down just to place another absolute monarch in his place, no matter how nice she and/or her child turn out to be).

So I predict I’m going to be quite cosy with the Odessenters. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Depends on the RO for me. Mozelle/heir(mostly) = Royal family, Bex/Juliet(possibly) = Fae, some MC personalities = Odessenters.

Same opinion. Depending on the RO I would side with one of them.

So far, it depends for me. i think i need to weigh down all three factions before i officially choose one.

Yeah! So, by the end of the game, you’ll either be aligned with the Fae, the Odessenters or with the Crown based on the choices you make. It won’t be obvious like: do you like the Crown, the Fae or total anarchy? but by the end, I’d definitely say that whatever your views on duty vs honor vs love will really be tested.

Very Purgesque, no? :smirk:

YUP!

 it’ll be worth it, for sure.

One thought I’ve had, Queen Juliet (Fae) could be a future RO (I’m up for it) but in the game seems she and her butler(?) have something between them… You know what I mean … I hope… How will it develop in a relationship with our MC??? (I don’t think I’ve written well the question )

I know it’s too (x2) early to ask for that but I’m curious…

Have a great weekend by the way!

Alright…I’m the warrior of love.

Can I romance the heir without have to side with anyone? I really really don’t like politics, but maybe I still had some biases towards the heir’s family, I just don’t want to be anyone’s supporter if that’s possible.

I’m torn between such things when it’s boiled down to the ideals of honor, love, or duty. Push comes to shove I’m an advocate of neutrality :stuck_out_tongue: but really if a choice had to be made in this story oh boy… three houses anybody? XD

Poly option! :smirk:

Don’t worry, I understood perfectly  Queen Juliet is a RO option only if you play a certain route or make certain choices. Most players are unlikely to romance her (whether that is because of choices you make or other paths you decide to pursue) and won’t have any interactions with her until perhaps the end of the game.

Yes, her and Lexar have quite a bit of…erm…tension between one another. I’m also still entertaining the poly option, so perhaps I can include it here. I will give a more definite answer on poly options in the future.

You as well!

Yes, definitely. Let me clarify what I mean by this!

So there’s three main conflicts going on in Odessa right now. One bubbling up with the Odessenters not liking the Crown ways, one with the Fae and trying to gain control of the county/take down the Royal Family and finally, the Royal Family trying to keep the status quo. You’re welcome to help/hurt any of these conflicts, or none at all, but they will all come together in the end. Who comes out on top/wins/loses/gets along will depend upon you and your choices.

I’m hoping that as you play the game, you’ll find yourself wanting to pick one of these sides, but if not that’s fine!

Interesting. If you were to add Juliet as an RO would poly be the only option, or would there also be the possibility to romance just her? Either way is great :+1:t2:
