The Odessa Dating Games (WIP) - UPDATING IN MID-JULY!

Now, i’m interested to know which MC’s personalities would have a harder time in romancing which Heir.

The harder to romance MCs…

Summary

Aloof Heir: Aloof MC, Flirty MC
Charming Heir: Rude MC
Rude Heir: Rude MC, Charming MC
Flirty Heir: Sarcastic Heir
Shy Heir: Rude MC
Sarcastic Heir: Shy MC, Charming MC

Glad you could meet them! Your stats are interesting too.

Welcome to the forum! I totally get you. So on the Rude Heir route, you can ask them why they act so rude, or not ask them and you’re not penalized either way. I can definitely move the flirty question to there (as there’s already one there anyway) and this, I believe, would fix the flow.

tee-hee :smirk:

Well I finally met bex. I went down the Shy MC x Rude Heir.

I’ve made multiple posts about this, added a change log and made another long post, but nothing seems to be working, so it’s come to this.

I’m moving this game to a private thread and password protecting it until further notice. If you click on the demo link right now, unless you have the password, you will not be able to play.

I will be reaching out to a handful of people that I believe will be good at testing bugs and checking game flow and more, so please do not:

  • ask me for the password
  • ask me when the game will not be password protected
  • ask me when the next update is

@Outrageous and I discussed this in many DM posts today and they said that this type of thing has been successful in other game demos to:

  • stop the reposting of bugs
  • squash as many bugs as possible before it’s available to the public
  • have a pair of dedicated eyes on the game at all times

Myself and the testers will hopefully catch a lot of the bugs that others keep reposting, as well as other things before the game is made public for the rest of the forum to catch. Once I lift the password block for the public, the password section will be moved to the end of the public demo and only people with the password will be able to access the newest part.

For example, you can play up until you meet Bex, but only my testers will be able to play the upcoming city scenes. After the city scenes go live, meeting the contestants will be under password protection…so on and so forth.

Once again, do not ask me for the password, when the game will update or when the password will be lifted.

Thank you.

Unfortunate that it has come to this but very understandable. The thread was getting buried in tons of bug reports, which is by no means a bad thing because it promotes community engagement but it was truly getting out of hand.

Totally understandable, every time I logged on it seemed you had made a new post telling people not to constantly report the same bug… only for them to do it anyway. Hopefully this will keep the thread from getting cluttered.

I Total understanding and am sorry it had to come to this, if we are being honest I can only imagine how annoying it must have been

Good to know. You did say that some paths can be more rewarding if they’re the harder ones so i might keep on going with one of my paths (aka the Aloof MC x Aloof Heir).

As for the game being private for testers (for now), it’s understandable. i wish the best for you and the testers.

On another note, i remember reading that there are flowers native to certain cities (Scarbrough - is this a shoutout to Scarborough (Fair), Freda, Enos, etc) in the garden. Do you have any flowers in mind?

@tandra88 Why the shy MC/Heir speaks like a stuttered?? I mean, a shy person can have difficulty in starting or maintaining a conversation but that’s it.

In my opinion, it’s more realistic to have the MC/Heir speaks “normal” most of the time, mainly with the people who MC/Heir has more trust like family or close friends, but with new people has more difficulty.
Maybe you can add a stuttering word somewhere but the main point is that MC/Heir should have problems forming sentences or how explain something because of the nervousness. This should be solved by the time MC/Heir gets confident with the other.

PS: Good luck with the writing, coding and fixing :bowing_man:t2:‍♂

In my experience I stutter like crazy when talking to people I don’t know, especially if they give me a compliment (like Lyon) or are in some way important (like the heir is). Usually at the beginning of the conversation, or if it gets serious. Once I get comfortable around them enough for the nerves to disappear, so too does the stutter.

So, personally, I don’t see any problem with the occasional stutter as shown in the game. It is the type of response that I can relate to. Though I also can’t speak for everyone, I am just weighing in on it.

I’m shy too. In my case, I don’t stutter but I can’t explain or speak to the other person in the same way I would speak with someone else (closer to me).
That’s why I can’t relate to that type of response, just like you can’t with my thinking.

Sigh. That is a rather sad outcome:tired_face::tired_face:. This is my favourite wip and i always read the new updates as soon as they are out. But it is unserstandable. I guess ill just have to wait a little longer to recieve the updates. :sob::sob:. But still the important thing is that u can handle the bug repoeting problem easily and work on the game. So whatever u do good luck. Ill keep following the thread and the game as it progresses.

As unfortunate as this is and I can understand your reasoning for this. With the abundant amount of bug posts (which was always the same thing), the forum was getting way too cluttered. Nevertheless, I wish you luck and hoping this releases a heavy burden off of you.

Waiting a bit longer for the updates is not so bad if that means that by the time they go live there won’t be any game-breaking bugs, right? :slightly_smiling_face:

Plus that way we can keep this thread focused on other types of feedback and story discussions, which is so much more interesting than just reading/posting “X is broken” over and over again.

That’s a shame but I completely understand. It must be disheartening to come back and see post after post reporting the exact same thing. I’ll be looking forward to playing again when the demo is reopened :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s understandable. It has to be annoying reading the same thing over again, especially after reiterating how we need to read other comments before posting any bugs or errors. As my mom likes to say: reading is fundamental.

I wish you the best and, hopefully, this turns out to be more helpful and less stressful for you.

Poor charming/aloof MC’s, they aren’t very popular around the heirs… At least charming!MC seems to get along with Bex. I’m going to try romancing shy!heir with my main MC (who’s aloof) while I wait for an RO that doesn’t get along with her. Thankfully I won’t have to watch poor flowers getting plucked in his route like with the aloof!heir :eyes:.

About the demo being locked, I hope this diminishes the caos of the updates and adds more variety in the feedback.

Not at the moment, actually. Hmm, might have to come up with a list.

Thanks, I’m discussing this with my team.

It really is a pity that you had to lock this WIP, because I always looked forward to reading the update list and playing what was new. However if it helps to stop the clutter of repeated post about a bug ( usually the same bug you have already took note of.) Then I can understand.
