CJW has save plugin that can be used to save progress: ChoiceScript Saving Plugin (Update: April 2023) - #115 by bawpie
but the player will probably need to start fresh with updates to the game but this could be used to let the player save their game, so if they die they can reload. when I played it I like that you could die easily
