And now you are making them taste mud through this game.
I’d say a nice revenge.

@dungeon_master
Haha, yeah, though I doubt any of them will ever read this. Ah well, it was still satisfying to write.
I’m probably the minority of players, but I was going full diplomacy, and I was thinking my character was self-disciplined with his emotions, so I was kinda disappointed with the choices for the Killian ‘fight’ I had. I mean I get it, Killian was bullying me for fun and wasn’t going to stop because I was talking to him, but I definitely didn’t want to cry about it.
@chaseeboy
I was actually thinking about adding another non-violent option anyways! I can do that tomorrow.
It would be fun to see more of the Mc get posseed and out of of control …am I a bad person for wanting this
I am going to disagree. I consider myself a pretty patient person but I probably would’ve had my confrontation long before you did, especially once I was a guardsman. Vandalism of property (the bookstore) would have been more than enough of a reason to take them in.
My brother was also in that category. Chocolates was one thing, coinage was another. I didn’t pick the “feel my wrath” option because I figured I would get stuck with avarice which is not my intention. I just want some justice for a crime greater than candy bars.
Nope, that doesn’t make you bad! There will be several opportunities to use Zaleth’s powers throughout the story, but they will be spread out every few chapters. For example, the next time I plan on giving you the option to have the demon lend you his magic will be in Chapter 6.
I do see what Chaseeboy was saying, though, and it never hurts to add more options. (Right…?) I agree that there are lots of places in Chapter 2 where it would been appropriate to fight back against Killian, but I wanted to save that for just one spot in Chapter 3, otherwise I’d have to write that huge Killian mini-scene over and over.
Are you saying you want another option to punish Percy for trying to steal your coins?
I feel your pain right now, trust me. Also, nothing is wrong with more options as long as you’re willing to code them.
I think so. If memory serves, the options were (paraphrasing): Tell him off with some serious threats, tell him off lightly or just shrug it off and forgive the kid. I was wanting another option where (again) I’d haul him to my parents and, perhaps between the store and the raiding of my cash (provided you made the econ check at the store), they’d figure out there’s a problem with their 9 year old. Then let the parenting commence.
It is a combination of justice and loving my kid brother enough to get this problem corrected so he doesn’t end up in whatever passes for prison in the village.
Hey @Samuel_H_Young just a quick question when I got up to the occupation part of the demo I choose the thief and then mother asked me what my job was and I had to choose another job I got the stats for both of the choice (thief, guard) was saying I am joining the guards a cover up or was it a glitch
shush homie, we got a cheat code
Excellent suggestion! I had actually thought about adding that as an option but didn’t get around to it for some reason. I’ll try to squeeze that in the demo tomorrow, along with the extra choice in the Killian fight.
@centralrouge
So you’re saying that when you chose to be a thief, it also said you got the guard job? Do you think you could provide a screenshot? As far as I know, the coding is pretty clean in that little section, so you should only tell them that you’ve got the guard job after you’ve confirmed that you chose the guard job.
Sorry I just re-read the scene and I just read it wrong never mind. sorry
My answer to that question is…maybe
But then again adding alot of the same thing over and over again parts might tire u out so like u said just add like 1 each 3-5 chapters
Glad you agree! Plus, the only times when using Zaleth’s powers would be a reasonable option are when you’re in great danger and other options would present more risk. Like in Chapter 6, you’ll have a chance to use his magic to fight against a much stronger demon when a horde attacks your village. Mwahaha.
Oooh me like that I’ll make sure to corrupt my charecter as much as possible >:)
MINOR UPDATE:
I’ve added an extra non-violent choice to the Killian fight scene, as well as an extra choice for how to react to Percy trying to steal from you. This added another 1k to Chapter 3, bringing the total word count to 74k. Now, on to Chapter 4 again!
have to say your quite becoming a pretty good writer, i did read your 2 volumes of demon hunter… i find them good read but a bit lacking in character interaction, also did not like the constant drop in stats when you make some choices not related to that speficic stat…is not the only good game that i have played that lack it… samuray of hyuga did lack it a bit too.
the magician task- in all honesty i have to say that this game is the best i have read from you and i never give false praise.
keep that up samuel
by the way , id like for you to add some choice to mock him too
“Where are you going, to pick flowers in the meadow?” mocks Zaleth.
Imitating him, you reply, “Do you want some pink flowers? i bet you love them, oh sweet demon. No, I’m going to the old necromancer’s cave.”
@anon4518890
Thanks so much! It seems to be the consensus that TMT is my best work yet, despite it only being like 15% done, which I’m very happy about!
Haha! I currently just have some automatic dialogue but I could definitely add some choices in there to banter with Zaleth.

Can someone please close this thread? I made a new thread for this WIP.
