Does anyone know what stats you need to “explore your prophetic dreams in more detail”?
75 Perception and 75 Magic.
Is there any special class related to thea/o ?
No, but you get the help of the Norgan warriors in LH2 and LH3.
Hmm I kinda could see if @Lucid did make a class for theo/a it could be something like a shaman or something along the lines of that.
No, but there is a particular Monk advancement related to the Norgan Mountains.
The elemental familiars you can get if you take a wizard class (I think you have to be a level 1 wizard from LH1 to do so) in the Norgan Mountains are pretty unique and useful, too, IIRC. The water one can help you get over that river in LH2 without a delay, and the earth one can solve your tunneling problem if you tunnel into Tornassa at the end of LH2.
Do you think Lucid’s next game will be set in the timeline of the pre-established Lucidverse (TLH, LoaW, LoaM, PF) or set in a new one entirely?
I’m still betting my money on a The Lost Heir version of the Life Of A Mobster game.
That would be a godsend. Beyond glorious, I would die happy if Mobster got made into a trilogy.
@J4C Agreed. It most certainly deserves that.
Whether it is a LH sequel where you play as The Lost Heir’s Kid, a Mobster trilogy, or a new project I’ll support it.
I can tell you that the next one will be lighter on the stats compared to my traditional games. I’m trying for the big CoG contest, so I’m changing things up a bit.
But, it’s still me. I can’t and won’t write a cookie-cutter story. Only time will tell if I have found a balance between CoG’s esthetic vision and my own style.
It’s passed the 40k mark, which seems to be about third of the story, so as always, the 100k limit isn’t going to be a problem.
All my Gummi worms are still on “Life of a Starship Captain”. Start off running supplies from Tornassa Station to budding colonies and by the end you’re deciding the fate of the entire Daria Sector.
I’ve been thinking…
The game I’m writing is for the big contest on Jan. 31. If there are 20 entries, that’s well over 2 million words of story for CoG to go through. When do you think they’d announce a winner? April? And then comes any editing/rewrites, if it gets picked for their label.
Win or lose, that means that they’ll have 20 games (a few CoG and a lot of Hosted Games) coming out after that, which will take months of post-production. Besides Beta, I’m guessing this game might not release until Aug of next year? Maybe much later.
So, although Life of a Starship Captain isn’t the game I’m writing for the contest, I think it’ll be the game I write after this one. And with that kind of wait time, who knows, it might get released first!
If you need a beta tester for your games, you can call me .
Per the rules, they expect judging to potentially last through May 31st next year, so yeah there will be quite a wait.
JUDGING. From February 1, 2018 through May 31, 2018, each Game will be rated by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor using the following criteria: (a) quality of the writing, including originality and interest of the characters, originality and interest of the setting and plot, and prose styling; (b) quality of the game design…
And also, I would love to see your take on a starship captain’s adventures.
Well, I’m amateur writer with completely no skills in programming (to the point where learning just how to use Choice Script would take me 1 year at least), and I heard about that contest about 2 weeks ago, so on that topic I can’t say anything meaningful, but if Lucid reads this, then I would say: Congratulations. You’re my favorite writer. I have only one thing to ask. On the begging of LH1 you are woken up by your servant named Bernard. I wish that you could find time to create update which will give player points of good/ evil or will give nothing depending on the answer you player gave him. I didn’t play LH3 yet, and I was unaware, if you’re considering wishes of readers during writing, but I always had seen great potential in character of Bernard to have greater impact on LH series plot. Or maybe it’s to obvious?
Hope you’ll consider this,
Buyer of all three games
Oh, Lucid totally does; look at what happened to Red. Someone suggested Selina turning one of the MC’s friends/companions against them, and voilà: drama guaranteed.
But well, TLH3 has been out for a while, so it’s a bit late for asking changes like that
To be honest, waaaay back when Lucid mentioned new ROs for TLH3, I thought about Bertrand/Bertie getting promoted from background NPC to RO Guess it wasn’t meant to be
Ok. As I said, I didn’t know about it. I thought that he created Red plot twist, not the readers. On my behalf can also speak the fact, that I checked Choice of Games website 3 days ago (forum also but not for the reason I wrote here). I wasn’t checking for a year. Anyway if it wasn’t meant to be added, and if it’s too late, than forget it.
Sadly, however, Bertie won’t be a submissive RO for the player. She was not maid to order.
There was more good/evil in the child scenes, but it was felt that what was considered “evil” was just mischievous and rude, so a lot of those stat bumps were removed.
Yes, new content won’t be added to old games, sorry. I have to manage my time, and that means effort goes into the new game and correcting bugs in the old ones.
