You can still romance Hadrian if you show remorse for doing so. If you’re not remorseful or you try to pretend you’re not then yes you’re locked out of Hadrian romance.
I think you might have a tad bit of greed boggling the mind, because this was ridiculously long (in a good way) the capturing of the big bad guy from the opening chapter is very clearly a good stop, the ball isn’t a good stopping point because I’m pretty sure the ball is going to be half of a book long on its own and is a distinctly different goal, a new goal with new characters.
I want more book and more story too, but I gotta defend story telling everywhere when you talk about natural stopping points.
Also did someone say Vallen is not an RO because I will dramatically cry and make a scene
How big of a temper tantrum do I have to make to change the universe we live in and make Vallen Romanceable? Why is the world so cruel my life’s goals and my life’s purpose have been taken from me.
Poor Vallen, all alone at her guard post, such a shame it is, although that does help with the not betraying her to end some Theers.
I feel like we need to cancel that garden date then, hmmm
Y’all I love Vallen as a character as much as I love pretty much literally everyone in this game (I would whole heartedly marry the Goliath and kill for the Harbor cat! I even have a soft spot for Aurelius, the murderous peacock that he is) and but how do you all deal with her incredibly potent vibe of “this person will brush an eyelash off your cheek just to use it to put a curse on you”? I feel like if the MC falls for her they would be promptly sacrificed on a convenient altar which would just so happen to be situated in a shady corner of the garden. I had to do like… two runs of the whole game before I could gather my nerve enough to visit her at the gates am I reading too much into her?
Isn’t he cute? He didn’t seem interesting to me before, but after reading full book, I actually like this character and can’t wait to see more of him. My MC will have fun… But apart from that, I felt sorry for him. I wanted to hug unhappy, grumpy thief <3
I assume the author has plans for Vallen that don’t fit a romance. She HAS been awfully suspicious so far with all her staring and suddenly smiling/pretending to be airheaded. Plus the fact that I’m sure she’s the fake Eye. I’m excited to find out what her whole deal is.
I am confused as to why so many people like goliath? He has hardly any scenes and if you are a female mc he doesnt want to fight you and later asks you out for a drink. But there is not much role for him? I dont even know what his personality is like as I was playing a male mc. But as a female mc he suddenly reminds me of the time period we play in but still not much dialogue with him.
Do we make good on our promise and go out for a drink with him? I am reminded of shari who i liked and was shocked to learn she died and also the pirate? who told us about goliath and takes off with our silver if we give it to her.
My love of the Goliath is hard to explain and most certainly not rooted in logic or reason. I suspect that I like him because he resides in the nebulous territory between light sexism and “being a gentlemen” and the fight with him plays into the power fantasy of “stronk independent woman proves she’s got what it takes to put a man in his place and be alluring while she does it” which is a problematic approach irl but a very fun thing to read in a game/book/etc. I also feel like he’s got his heart in the right place and his head on his shoulders. A hilariously named man doing his best with his lot in life. Idk, does that help explain it?
@yuya I very much hope that she’s the fake Eye, it would explain quite a few things! I also feel like she’s working for/with the Witch but that’s more of a vibe due to Vallen’s blank stare reminding me of an owl’s stare
There is not! I don’t like checks based on personality stats, I don’t think people are one-dimensional and can only behave in one way with everyone they meet and in every circumstance, no matter how dire or unusual it may be. We’re not. We’re human.
So, the personality stats are there, mostly, for the reader to keep track, in a very simplified way, of how their character tends to behave. It’s kind of a tracking scale for you and little else. I do want to start making other NPCs react differently based on your dominant stat from Book 2 onward like it happens in Wayhaven (and yes, I do need to go snoop in the author’s code to learn how she does it xD) because, by Book 2, I think there’s been enough time to develop your MC.
But, apart from flavor text, personality stats won’t affect the game. And they won’t mingle with the skill checks.
No temper tantrum will change the fact, but I’ll say that the attempt was very amusing
It’s honestly incredibly flattering (if slightly concerning) that anyone has a soft spot for Aurelius
I was just wondering how does one go about increasing the loner stat? I’ve insulted both alessa and hadrian and I’ve been basically an all-around jerk to everybody and it’s dropped down to a 57?
