The Cryptkeepers of Hallowford — Sharpen your sword and save Hallowford!

There must be something wrong with your copy of the game. My 7 Will sorcerer (his name was literally Sorcerer because I am not the best at naming) downed the strongest drink with no problem.

You can, I believe, get a refund, although I am not sure of the exact method by which you would do so and for what platforms it is available. Try contacting support.

Just tried it and you’re correct.

Must have confused it with my subterfuge build.

Did a play through in which I joined sir Michael and convinced most of my fellow adventures and all of the guilds to support the town watch, however during the standoff before the final fight all of the Text options were aimed at the watch, and were followed by scenes of town watch members joining the crypt keepers.

Did you update to version 1.0.1 yet? I seem to recall that a problem akin to the one you describe was fixed in it.

Yes the app had already been updated when the error occurred.

Then, likely, since the final choice of who to side with in the Heart-chamber is independent of whichever group you are cooperating with prior to that, the most likely explanation is that you were helping Michael before you got there, but when it came to the final decision you must have accidentally picked the option to side with Lucan instead.

Also, just out of curiosity, what were the stats of the character you attempted this with?

Will also seems connected in some way to intellect:

You pick up the ring of the scholar from the case and slip it onto your finger.

Suddenly, your mind seems to grow quicker, as if the thoughts inside were horses suddenly spurred to a gallop. Not only do your thoughts move more swiftly, they also seem more forceful, as if your brain were a muscle you had never used until now.

“I can see from your expression that the ring has quickened your thoughts,” Isan observes. “A useful trinket, yes?”

@Disciple
I think 1.01 was soon after release. It fixed a few bugs and added achievements, but this bug might only be fixed in the next update.

I’m largely reliant on the Book, to be honest.

Yep, that’s been happening with me too.

Yeah, the book gives you access to serious power, more than any other option.

The book also might eat your brain, of course. It’s why I stick with the cloak.

This is a bad thing?

If you like being a slave of an evil book, then no. Otherwise…

If the book ate my brain it would be pretty disappointed with what it found

Hey, has anyone with the iPhone version seem to be having problems with the updates? I think the fix that Cataphrak talked about (that would allow for the sword and the book to transfer on the iPhone) dropped sometime today. I was pretty excited to try it out (though I’m not sure the sequel is where the problem lies). Unfortunately, though on the App Store is showing that the current version is 1.0.2, but on the app itself it says

" Original version: W/“12637” Current version: W/“12637” "

This leads me to believe that for some reason the app hasn’t updated. I’ve tried resetting the date and time, turning my phone on and off, and deleting the app and re-downloading it – none of these methods worked. Any idea?

The update for the sword and the book is for the first game, not the second.

I knew that there was one update made for HoK that fixed a bug concerning the items. But I had trouble even after that and asked Cataphrak about it earlier in this thread. He said he found something and that it would be in the next update. That was about a month ago, and I assumed he meant for CoH. Since an update dropped today, I wasn’t hoping it wasn’t the one he mentioned (he also said Apple was slow about updating). I guess I could be wrong, but I’m not certain.

Have you done another playthrough of HoK? Because your older save still have the bug.

Yeah, when I found out that there had been a fix for HoK, I did some replays.

You can check whether the version on the App Store has the most recent update when you reach the beginning of Chapter 5. If the choice in the vault says:

“We’ll stand and fight!”
“I’m not much for fighting, but I’ll see if I can’t even the odds.”

then your version of CoH is not the most recent version (perhaps Apple has a problem updating the game?). If it says:

“We have to keep beating them down in close-combat!”
“If close combat isn’t working, maybe I could try another way…”

then you have the most recent version. If you have the most recent version (of both HoK and CoH) and Kendrick’s sword and the Book of Mad Whispers aren’t importing, I’m not sure what the problem is.

I’m not sure what Cataphrak found here. Did he fix something in HoK or CoH? (If HoK, it might not be updated yet.) What puzzles me is that people on (at least some) other platforms are importing the Sword and Book, like I am through the CoG site version. Has anyone here had success importing the Sword/Book while playing through the App Store?
