Ok thank you for the help
Alright after deleting the apps, restarting my iPod, and reinstalling the apps I passed the test for both games. So I should have the updated version for both, I will try a new save now.
On odd thing, I made a new save and got the book of mad Whispers and it did transfer to the next game… so out of curiosity, I made another save and got the sword of Kendrick the giant slayer, but that didn’t transfer over… I can’t understand that inconsistency.
Anyone know what were the benefits of asking to own a house at the end of HoK? I don’t see how that could be helpful when transferred over to CoH.
Also, I noticed while testing my CoH to see if it updated, that if you make a new character; you can choose that he became a knight… I didn’t see that option on my squire playthrough.
Unless it functions the same way as the Captain of the city watch title, but I would prefer being called a knight than that. Because in that test run I noticed a character actually using the prefix ‘Sir’ when addressing you.
“Buy land, they’re not making it anymore.” --Mark Twain
Did Twain know if it would be implemented as a worthwhile reward in CoH?
It might not be useful now, but who knows in the future?
If you have a mansion, it gives you a certain status: you are now a Gentleman/Gentlewoman/Notable of Kendrickstone. An official position (like knight or captain) is more significant in CoH because Hallowford is under Duke Leofric’s authority, but in the future you might meet someone who would react more favorably to you if you’re more distinguished than most adventurers (sort of a minor noble).
The mansion might also give you opportunities to improve yourself between games (perhaps you can spend time studying lore found in the mansion’s library while other characters have to work to pay for room and board). Concretely, in CoH it gives you 400 silver at the beginning of the game:
It had been a bright late-summer morning, six months after you had saved Kendrickstone from the sorcerer Milius Black-Clad and his army of brainwashed bandits. Things had been quiet since then, giving you the time to settle into both your new fame as the “Hero of Kendrickstone” and the immense mansion thath had come as a reward for your heroic deeds. Not even the process of selling the old house’s less tasteful furnishings and tapestries had taken up too much of your time and attention.
If you request an official position, the job you get depends on who your mentor is. If you request the official position as a squire (and Dame Mildred thinks you’re decent or better), you become a knight, which also gives you better armor.
Try again, and check the stat page when you reach the end of the game (“We hope you’ve enjoyed playing…”). If it lists the sword of Kendrick Giant-Slayer in your inventory, then maybe there’s a problem with your version of CoH. If it doesn’t list his sword in your inventory, then somehow you have a problem with your version of HoK.
Yeah I got it to work… Finished CoH, but I didn’t get the option to save the game for the next installment… which makes me believe there isn’t going to be a next installment.
There will be a next installment, but there is no need for a save if the next one is going to be released in 2-3 years.
I guess, but I was able to save the first one way before this one was coming out, and from my experience of other games with planned sequels you were able to save them all no matter if it was just released.
There are several cases of CoG only allowing them save feature after the development of the sequel.
Like the case of The Great Tournament 2.
Ah I see, never played that series.
I was really surprised by the romantic option that came out of no where… So I assume there are more options than the one that was made available to me, anyone know if you could romance Adanna? If so, how?
You can start a romance with either Mundy or Selim, no other options available.
There isn’t an option if you wanted a female love interest? Wow. Do you think that is compensating for Guns of Infinity?
Don’t know, but the author’s planning on adding more RO’s as the story goes on.
I didn’t care for it in Heroes Rise and I don’t care for it here but them’s the breaks.
Honestly I did not care about the lack of romance either, I was just curious because it came out of left field at the end.
I also figured because there are opportunities that suggest you are raising Adanna’s approval rating. There obvious ones when you first venture into the crypt, as well as a not so obvious one when you first arrive at the inn, where if you are well versed in Korilandis you two will spend the better part of the night talking to only each other.
There isn’t in this game, it might be added in the next one.
