WHAT A GEM! The best character creator that I’ve seen in any COG so far, I had so much fun thinking about the details of my Sherlock!
Your writing style is the perfect mix between easy to read and beautifully narrated. You manage to convey the time period, location and characters without being convoluted or going for far-fetched synonims and obtuse jargon. Never once did I feel like skipping a paragraph or line. Everything is exactly as it should be.
You also managed something extremely complicated: Sherlock has a story of their own that molded how they think and behave, but we still get to make them our own. That’s a very hard balance to keep and you do it wonderfully. My first Sherlock (ohyes I plan to make more) is a polite and kind lady detective, but she’s still “Sherlock Holmes” if that makes sense.
And Lestrade! Only RO introduced so far and I’m already in love. I have a feeling I’ll love the four of them… Lestrade was everything I could want in a RO though. He’s a bit grumpy, but just a bit, without making that his entire personality and transforming him in just a trope. But he softens and, aww, when Sherlock says “please” or admits she could be wrong, you can see him melting a bit inside. I died when he got embarrased when Sher asked him to please give her all the information next time. Or how he almost smiles when Sher agrees to play their game. He also showed his protective side (I might be already swooning a little). I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET WATSON THOUGH! Lestrade, for obvious reasons, is my favorite so far.
I wish you all the luck with the rest of the story. You’re very talented, and I can’t wait to explore more of your writing

This was awesome! I laughed out loud at the: I place my hand in his. He was surely offering assistance in exiting the carriage, the roads might be slippery after all. option with all of the context connected to it.
I’ve never been a fan of Sherlock Holmes and yet here I am playing several character builds based in the world and adoring it. The variety you have for attitudes, interactions and the customisation is insane. I’m not much of a fan of the ‘build your appearance before the story’ thing, but wow did you blow me away with yours. I could sit here all day and play around with it, and not get bored. The touches on physical imperfections was just —chefs kiss—. The update cannot come soon enough (no pressure, I’m just genuinely on the edge of my seat lol).
Great demo! Best of luck with your writing!

THIS WAS AMAZING OH MY GOD!!! I Loved it so, so much. LOVED the subtlety of Sherlock’s dynamic with Lestrade, and can I just say, you gave me palpitations when the murdered man had the same features of Sherlock. My first thought was - is Sherlock going to be one of the victims later on? :OOOOOOO
Would love to beta if you ever need one later down the line, yes please.

Mmm if you choose to be a female Sherlock the victim is still a man, though! So maybe it doesn’t have to do with Sherlock in that sense? I just tried a new (male) Sherlock with completely opposite features to those of the victim, and yep, the victim is still the same. I think it was just a coincidence with your Sherlock ^^

I actually own a copy of Dragon Age Inquisition. One of my favorite games (next to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, that is)
Huge fan of Sherlock Holmes also. Read most of the books and watched the movies and TV series’s. Keep up the good work and i can’t wait to read the continuation of this. Also, not that it matters, but I’m British. Sherlock Holmes has a place in mostly everyones heart over here. I hope you continue to do him justice.

He will work for the government, but I would assume that could at times include queen Victoria.
I did once have a quick thought of using her as a character if I ever made this into a semi-standalone trilogy series—sort of like a big final case where you serve the queen. (But I can’t concentrate on anything beyond the demo right now anyway, and I like the mostly standalone feel that the Sherlock Holmes books have. And this is probably going to take years… But the thought I had was that the second book was a case at a resort location by the sea, and the final one was about a case given to Sherlock by the queen.)

Nice! AC Valhalla was great, but so long that I still haven’t had the energy to finish it. My favourite in that series was black flag
I’ll try to do him justice, can’t promise though!

That’s nice. Always good to see more characters from the books. On that note I have a question, how accurate is our “Sherlock” going to be? Will we have insane deduction skills or the like, will the hobby we picked at the start be shown in the story. Based on the first case I don’t think we will have those insane skills, but still how much accurate will our character be with the one in canon books?

How accurate is a bit hard to answer, as there are so many different versions of Sherlock and because the player makes most of the decisions. The best answer I can give is that I am inspired by the books (and other adaptations), but it is my own take on the characters and cases (and world to a degree).
Sherlock is not insanely “overpowered”, if that makes sense. When I tried to write Sherlock more like that, it just wasn’t very fun to play—too easy and mary sue. Though, we might evolve a bit in skills during the course of the game.
Hobby? Do you mean the cope/vice? It will be quite prominent in the story

Perish the thought! Your humour totally fits with the mood you’ve set and adds so much to the story. I don’t think anything short of a monkey Detective with a monocle solving the crimes that Sherlock can’t, can be too much in the Holmes-universe lol.
