This is not in topic but there IS a series with a supernatural spin to Sherlock. Itās called Warlock Holmes and itās a comedy. (Warlock is pretty dumb according to our beloved Watson). I think you might like it since it reminded me of youā¦ā¦ and the countless conversations about supernatural Sherlock adaptations

Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius. Warlock Holmes is an idiot . A font of arcane power, certainly. But heās brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldnāt deduce his way out of a paper bag.
Iāll remember this one if I ever get through my giant book backlog

@Jess1973 Omg, the stack of books, both physical and digital, that I have not finished is so ridiculously highā¦ I should probably give up on some of them, but I really donāt want to š„²

weird tip BUT if you want to shed some books on your TBR list either focus on a small number of books you want to read OR this one is a bit more dubious look if any of your books you want to read have any controversy so its easier on your mind to drop it

So, my recommendation for a TBR list is to use it as a reference for things you want to remember as possibilities and not look at it like a goal to be completed. Just accept that there will always be books on it and that it can grow infinitely.
Also, your tastes may change. I periodically go through and cull old stuff that no longer interests me.

@Jess1973 Haha that is an idea! A lot of the books are quite old so Iām sure there a controversies around the authors

Im actually reading a Sherlock Holmes book right now. Hound of the Baskervilles. Loving it. Reading it because Iām waiting in anticipation to see how your story continues

Iām currently reading His Last Bow: Some Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes and next will be The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes. So I have to finish the original stories finally and I can watch the adaptations.
I like the original Holmes and my MC will probably have some of his personality traits. I want them to be so charming and polite when dealing with peopleā¦ or at least they try

I read a few of the stories again when I first started the project, but I felt I should stop because it became to tempting to āborrowā ideasā¦ or well, rather, every idea was less original, or at least it felt that way.
Now I look up characters a bit and reread a paragraph here and there for feeling and language, but I would like to read them again, now that the plot is relatively set in stone 
We could do a community book club on one of the shorter stories?

I see. Sherlock Holmes actually isnāt under copyright however, at least 90% of the stories and the characters themselves arenāt.
