Rewriting, mostly. There’s not really any new content aside from the dream. Sorry for the lack of clarity. I wasn’t sure how to word it.
So this:
Summary
…is the end of the demo for now?
sigh No, I just suck at coding. My computer doesn’t allow for Quicktest or Randomtest either, so I have to playtest it over and over to find all the bugs. I will fix the bug soon. Thank you for letting me know.
No worries! I am happy for the free entertainment so take your time!
I feel like it is too limited in choice and that the author assumes motivations behind actions. If I was in this situation I would love to go to the druids, even if they would hurt/ possibly kill me. I wouldn’t leave just because mom said it’s dangerous. Mabye I could learn how to become a necromancer or something more then just what I have now. I also have the problem with certain scenes like when we are taken away and we are “angry” mom couldn’t “protect” us. From what? The druids? We have to go or we will be killed by a mob, the druids would actually be safer! And how could we expect her to save us? It’s a rule that’s been going on for years and no one has stoped it yet, get over it.
Yea I recieved that error aswell
Will they become our companions? Can we ride them when time comes?
now i wanna name my mc joan…
@Lying_Arsonist Thank you for pointing those out. I will fix them soon.
@Natman1025 This partially because of my own limitations as a writer. This is the first time I’ve written in this medium, so I’m still trying to get used to it. I’ll go back through once I’ve finished fixing the bugs and see about rewriting those scenes.
You bring up a good point with safety.
Early on, I considered making a route where you went with the Druids, but something went wrong, leaving you stranded; however, both the writing and the coding became too complicated for me. It’s still something I’m considering if I can find a way to make work in the context of the story.
Necromancy is the same “brand” of Gift as yours, but you cannot learn it. Magic in the sense of learning spells doesn’t exist in this world. Gifts are genetic that skip generations.
Thank you for your feedback.
@Umbreonpanda They won’t become your companion in this game, but you will possibly get to ride one, depending on what path you take.
EDIT: OK, the bugs should be fixed.
Have you considered consulting some other authors on this website for help/guidance? If you’re really interested in making this route a thing, there’s no shame in asking for help.
@RyseAbove Thanks, I’ll fix those.
@RagEgnite Thank you for the suggestion. I think I’ll do that.
EDIT: Since it seems that more than a few people want to go with the Druids, I’m going to add a path for it. Some plans I had with have to be moved around to make everything fit, so it’ll take a little longer.
Ooo very interesting story. I’m glad that we have the choice to say ‘Good afternoon’ to the ghost, I hope we will be able to make some ghost friend later on. And by the way, I have some questions. What is the most common type of gift? The woman Druids who was possessed, does she also has the ability to communicate with ghosts? And does that count as second-sighted?
So I’m wondering, is second-sighted a rare ability or is it rather a common one?
Fire Gifts are the most common and the most widespread throughout the continent.
Letting spirits possess you is part of Druidic training. Basically, you empty your mind and just let them in–they can’t can’t possess you without your permission.
Fairly rare. Gifts are genetic, and most are regional as well (for example, air Gifts are most common in the Sunrise Desert). The second sight is a Rawkian Gift, so it is more common in places like the Highlands and the Rawkian Forest where the clans live, and in places like the Lowlands where their distant cousins live.
So does the second sight give you any powers beside seeing and speaking with ghost?
Yup. You can also predict death. This works in three ways: you can see individual markers (like a shroud draped over someone); you can see funeral processions; and you can actually see people’s deaths in dreams. This is part of what makes people uneasy about the second sight.
The MC has a particularly powerful Gift, and so if they ever get control over it (there will be a few opportunities to do so in future updates) they can potentially call on specific spirits for aid (such as with Grandmama.
Couple of things:
- I have added the option to play as a transgender person. As I am cis, there is a high chance I have screwed this up, so hopefully, it comes off ok. I would appreciate feedback on this because it’s important that I handle this respectfully and correctly.
- I have ~2500 words left to write in the Weshire route, but once I finish, I will start writing the Haugar route for chapter one.
- I added a route to go with the Druids in the prologue, and the route in chapter one is being drafted. I hope to have the rest of the Weshire route out by the end of the month. I don’t expect to have the Haugar route ready until sometime in March.

Summary
This transition doesn’t make sense with the choice
“My Mother wasn’t expecting a [insert gender here]… she expecting [opposite gender]…”
Considering the fact that it’s established the MC’s biological mother died in child birth she would unaware her child identified themselves as another gender. So letting the player choice a better name to suit the MC’s gender shouldn’t involve the mother, unless of course it’s a ‘she was going to call me this if I was biologically [gender of choice here]’ type of situation.
I REALLY enjoyed being able to go with the Druid!
